We have been going here for a while now, and have always been happy with the service provided. However, with the recent and unexpected price increase, services were not as good this last time. We travel from the other side of NB to go here because of the service quality and precious prices. I'm supposing others agree as they have been voted the best in NB. Once we got our doggo home, we realized areas of her stomach, back legs, and lady parts were all left long/uncut. Her eyelashes were also left so long, that they covered her eyes. This was very different than the several other times we had taken her. Looks like we will be searching out new places closer to our area, and see how their prices and service compare. She currently gets boarded at Gruene Barks and Rec when we travel, and I've seen where they also do grooming. I hate changing things up, but for $125, it's worth considering. Previous medium doodle final price was 84.69 in June/July New: 95.00 Recent large doodle groom-124.49. Nearly $40 difference, which was what was so surprising. I expected $15-20 as even current pricing reflects a $20 difference between sizes. I never thought to look at their prices, as I was never notified they changed. Just wanted to clarify, so it didn't appear as simply a size discrepancy. She is a bit bigger doodle dog these days . read more

I took my standard poodle to this grooming shop and specifically asked that they not shave him, leave his ears and tail long and trim his fur to 1". The groomer said nothing more than ok, but stated she may trim him a little shorter, maybe 1/2" rather than 1". I dropped him off at 10:30 am and they said he would be ready around noon. I didn't get a call to come get him by 1:00pm so I called them and asked if he was ready. They said he was not ready and needed at least another hour to finish him. I finally got a call to pick him up around 1:30pm. When I picked him up he had been shaved right down to his skin and was very upset, scarred and couldn't stop shaking his head, like his ears were hurting. They then informed me that they raised the grooming charge by $50 over the quote I was given and would not bring my dog up front until I paid them. SO, basically, they held him hostage and forced payment for hurting him before they would allow me to even see him. I was very upset with what they had done, but felt he needed to get home asap as he was truly hurting. He smelled like poop and perfume and spent the 20 minute ride home shaking his head and crying. I bathed him immediately and found that they had cut his nose, neck, his boy parts and the tips of both ears. I called the shop and asked for the manager but was informed the were already gone for the day at 4:06pm. I asked for them to call me back, but they never did. The next day I took him back to them to hopefully speak to the manager and show them what had been done. I met with a girl that was rude and was told that the groomer did nothing wrong. She tried to blame the shaving on my dog being matted, which he was not. I had brushed him out completely the week before he went to them. I told her that I expected them to pay the vet bill for treatment of the cuts they gave him, and she said they would not because most of the dogs they groom shake their heads after grooming because they will cut the ears short and it bothers the dogs. She said it was nothing new for dogs to have ear pain and shaking their heads after being groomed. SO, she knew that cutting the ears too short was painful for the dogs, but continued to let her groomers do it. I took him to my vet and after they did a full exam, they found that both the tips of his ears were severely cut by the clippers, his boy parts had been nicked, and his nose and neck had also been cut. It took 6 weeks, 3 different prescriptions, laser treatments and numerous visits to the vet before he healed and had stopped shaking his head and crying in pain. I cannot understand the "good" reviews on this business. When I was there picking up my dog, the customer in front of me paid their bill and the girl behind the desk wished them a good day, and started walking away, before the customers could stop her and ask that she bring them their dog. They brought the dog out to the front lobby with no leash on it (safety issue) as the door to the business was being opened and closed posing an "escape" risk if the dog chose to run. They had bugs crawling around in the front kennels under the reception desk where there were dogs being held and the floors were dirty and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. I will never take any of my animals to a place that cares so little about the animals and so much about the money. read more

My husband and I used to love this place but I think we are done after 1 year. One time I kept waiting for them to call me to pick up my dog and I got concerned when they were close to closing without a call. I called them and they were like "oh- we never called you? Well we close soon." The terms said if a pet was left there they would take it to the shelter. I was so upset over this whole ordeal. The past few times I have booked the appointments online and my husband has taken the dog in. The last 2 times they asked him what services he wants done for the dog, and of course he doesn't know since he didn't book it. He told them it's whatever I had booked and they claimed both times they can't see that. I'm curious why have the option online for services if they can't see it? Also I told my husband this last time to make sure our dog's sanitary areas (behind and belly) were cut super short since the last time wasn't short enough. Let's say it just got trimmed so I had to go back myself and cut it shorter. While our baby always comes home from here smelling amazing and is always so soft and shiny, I feel like they don't have it together and I hate having to roll the dice on what our dog will look like afterwards. read more

We just had our first visit at Head 2 Tails and José was our groomer for our 5 month old Goldendoodle "Oakley." One word to describe it....AWESOME!!! They do curbside right now so José quickly came right out to my car and answered all my questions and his genuine friendly demeanor put me right at ease. Wimberley has a bunch of crappy reviews for dog grooming. Since my puppy is under 5 months old, the wrong groomer could do some damage by not having patience. I scheduled my appointment for a Saturday online. The drop off was a little crowded but it's a weekend and to be expected. I have a cockapoo and prefer him to not have a poodle cut. I know that sounds odd. He has only had 2 cuts now, and it's hard for people not to see him as poodle. The breed is known for looking like teddy bears in the face, and that's what I was hoping to get-- a more rounded look without the mustache. Henry came out looking like a different dog. Not to mention he was super soft. I think it may take a couple tries of communicating the look I'm going for, as it's hard for me to describe it. I think I prefer a trimmed top to leave a little curl on his head. However for the first time of getting his head trimmed, he looks good. I'm sure it will grow out just like I am hoping. David Paul did an excellent job of the groom. We will certainly be back-- but maybe on a weekday so I can describe the top look a little better and have a one on one with DP to see how we can achieve it!
