We love Beyond Grooming so much! We started going here about four years ago as we couldn't find any good places in Austin. Our dog always comes out looking perfect and is treated with such care. He can be a bit anxious and energetic, but the staff knows exactly how to work with him. We just adopted a new puppy and they were so sweet with him as he went through his first hair cut. I can't say enough about Michelle , Chasidy, Paisley, and the other staff that go out of their way to make this experience such a positive one.
This is by far the best place to bring your labradoodle! They were awesome with JC! Quick, clean, and beyond friendly to both the animals and their owners! I used stinky dog previously and they are horrible with animals that are still puppies and like attention. They told me my vip salon service would take 4-5 hours and they made me pick up my pup after 1 hour and $85 later. They have no place for dogs to use the restroom the owner specifically said it's not her responsibility for animals to use the restroom. They also don't clean their cages out before and after they groom ur dog. I'll write a separate review for them but we've found a new home here at beyond grooming!!'
Do not go to this groomer. This place came highly recommended by a friend who raved about the staff (especially Michelle); we have a one-year-old golden retriever, and I made it abundantly clear that she DID NOT need trimming except for sanitary and pads of her feet. Michelle acknowledged that was unnecessary, and I left her in their care. I inquired about the length of time to expect the service to take. Two to three hours is how she explained it. When I dropped her off at 9 am, I had to call at 1:30 cause I didn't have an update or anything out of common courtesy. They also only do drive-up service, which makes sense because I didn't get to have a good look at my dog till I got home. They butchered her coat and trimmings. They cut so close to the skin on her back that you can see it. Her paw pads are cut with tufts and long hair sticking out. All of the hair on her chest was uneven. They cut her tail too short in places. They cut the sides of her hips, which we, once again, never asked for, and they didn't even do them correctly. Being my first grooming experience ever and I will make sure I let as many people know to avoid this place. They ruined my dogs fur and then said to bring it back to fix it. Why? So they could cut it shorter than it is? All of her hair on the back of her legs are gone. DO NOT USE THIS GROOMER.
This was my very first time going to beyond grooming and I loved it , I got my dog Peter Pan a full service bath and asked for de-shedding and nail file and the de-shedding could have been better but the nail filing was great and Peter Pan smelled super good . I will be back to do more business with beyond grooming and it was very cost efficient too
Absolutely love this place!!! I just moved to Texas from Arizona, and especially during COVID, I was worried about finding a groomer for my doggo! I lucked out big time!!! The staff is so friendly and kind to both you and your pet, AND they do an incredible job to boot! My pup looks like a doggie model :) see y'all next month!!!
Took my baby to get a haircut after a year of grooming at home. I dropped her off around 10:00 and she was ready within an hour and a half. I asked to see her before I paid and she looked great! She was such a happy girl and probably feels a lot better with her summer cut! The prices were fair about $54 for my dog with haircut, bath, nails, perfume I will definitely be returning soon!
Today I rushed out of work to try to get my 17 year old dog bathed before I have to put her down tomorrow morning. Called Michelle at Beyond Grooming and she said they were closed. I started to cry a little bit and told her what was going on. She told me to come in, reopened the shop and gave my girl a thorough cleaning! Ears and nails as well. It may seem silly that I wanted to give her a bath but Michelle agreed saying, "Let's make her comfortable for her last night." I have been a patron since I moved to San Marcos 3 years ago and this kind of love and devotion to her animals is exactly why I keep going back! Thank you, Beyond Grooming, and especially you Michelle that went above and beyond what you had to do!!!
Only giving 2 stars because the rest of her haircut is cute. Is this how y'all treat animals when they are in your care? I cannot believe this is what they did to my girl. Veronica is the one that cut her hair. I thought everything went really well, and then I discover this on her belly. I will not be coming back, this is horrible.
The drive up/drop off was a little unconventional for me, but after going a few times now, it makes total sense. Not only did it likely help with the 'vid times, but it allows them to keep the pup separated and sets up their staff. The coding the services when you book is a little convoluted. But again, now that I have been a few times, they know our Sandy girl and she is always well taken care of. The pricing is on par with others, the staff is friendly, and Sandy's fluff is always managed. You can see from her pic, that she loves it. read more

Highly recommended! Bodhi was a mess! They got us right in and took excellent care of our pup! Fully staffed with experienced groomers. Everyone was so nice. Thank you for taking such good care of Bodhi! We will definitely be back! read more

I got a really weird feeling from this place because they weren't so professional, worker didn't know much about dogs in general & my dog would get terrified when seeing the worker come out for him & now he LOVES his new groomer so I know it wasn't the actual grooming process scaring him. Also, the last time I took him, they cut his ear (I understand dogs move around and accidents happen) but the guy right away told me "he moved while they were trimming his ears but don't worry he's not gonna die or anything" and rolled his eyes. (This is an example of not professional) I then checked his ear and it was dripping blood. I didn't even know being told the process of what they were going to do to him was a thing until I met his new groomer. Overall it just didn't seem like they cared for their "clients" and were more of a "okay next, next, next" vibe. read more

I've been here a few times and it's never been necessarily bad but not a great experience either. Sometimes it can seem they are being rude but I try to see the best in people and just assume they are very busy and possibly stressed. I took my dog in yesterday and I mentioned not to cut her lashes, which they did and they cut so close to her eyes making her skin so raw in that area. She can't stop scratching at it and I'm afraid she'll make an ulcer on herself if she keeps doing it. I always tip and I never like to complain but yeah I'm never coming here again. read more

Beyond grooming is the best value in San Marcos and has a staff that really does care about their furry clients. I bring both my pups in for nail care and I am pleased every single time! They even cut and grind the dogs nails right in front of you and use a better method to restrain dogs without dogs pulling on the leash. Michelle is amazing and takes pride in her business. Upon receiving further information, I can say I'm disappointed in this company & the owner. I've spoken to her a long time ago & expressed to me she's interested in retiring & is finding people to take her place. With that being said, I heard that part of this transition includes inexperienced people cutting dog hair. I *really* wont be coming back now. I'd rather them admit that someone who shouldn't be experimenting on my dog did, rather than buttering me up & saying my dog behaved so well. read more

Loved the idea of walk in appointments the staff was super friendly both on the phone and in person. Busy place but the groomer Michelle took her time to get my idea of hair cut for both My toy puddles on separate appointments. (One week apart ) rt before Christmas week . I just had a very disturbing experience at Beyond Groomers. DO NOT GO HERE. I took my dog, Rufus, to Beyond Groomers a few minutes ago and left the store with his blood all over my shirt and my body. We simply requested to have our dog's nails trimmed. Although we could do this at home, we chose to take him to a PROFESSIONAL to prevent any accidents, as we know the task can be delicate. After our request, Michelle McWatters (who we later realized was the manager) immediately jerked Rufus from my arms and literally TOSSED him on the grooming table. She immediately and yanked him around and started cutting his nails SO AGGRESSIVELY and rapidly. She was barely looking at his nails while she was doing it. I tried to grab my dog back from her because he was whimpering and squealing with each cut. She didn't even use the slightest bit of care or compassion whatsoever, and didn't even try to cut his nails in a manner that was even remotely safe. I looked down on the table, and there was pools of blood all over it. This is NOT NORMAL. She cut his nails so so SO short that she was continuously cutting into his quicks - something that is extremely painful and avoidable, and I'm so glad she didn't cut a finger completely off. She cut FIVE of his quicks. That is CRAZY. Rufus has had his nails cut countless times since he was a puppy, and occasionally there is a minor accident. However, this was NOT an "accident". It was extremely negligent and abusive. I have never seen an animal care "professional" be so negligent and haphazard. To be honest, this person was acting in a manner that raised severe suspicion. Afterwards, we raised our concerns and mentioned how it was very bizarre and inappropriate behavior, and how upset we were that our dog was bleeding EVERYWHERE - all over my shirt, arms, legs and table. It looked like a crime scene. It was clear that my dog was (and still is) in a great deal of pain. This woman tried to tell me that these things "happen"...... which I understand mistakes can be made, but the aggressive and manner in which this woman handled my dog (and her attempts to rationalize it) made it unbelievably clear that your pets are NOT safe here. She even mentioned that she was "trying to get it over with" and valued finishing the task quickly over keeping my dog safe and unharmed. Everybody wants to feel like their animals are in good hands when they are being cared for at the vet or a pet salon, and this situation REALLY freaked me out while thinking about what this woman does behind closed doors... I mean, I was literally RIGHT THERE while she was doing this... and she rationalized the entire thing! She even had a smile on her face. Awful. read more

Update 2/21 In response to the owner, I did in fact smell marijuana and have reported this business. Secondly, the only extra grooming received was a trim of the tear stains, which I did not ask for, nor did I want. I was not asked if it was okay. The groomer just did it. They did not do any other sanitary services. I was in the market for a new groomer, so at that time I was only wanting the paws to be worked with. read more

This was my first time taking my dog, Lilo, to Petopia, and I was very pleased with the experience. She went in for a bath and nail clipping, which I know she always dreads. She is a very nervous, shy dog, and when we got there she didn't want to step foot through the door, however when I went to pick her up she was as calm as could be. I could tell that the friendly staff helped calm her nerves and helped her feel comfortable. Also, not only was she ready for pick up sooner than what I was initially told, but the price for the package she got was very reasonable. Her nails were trimmed perfectly, she smelled great, and was given an adorable bandana. I definitely recommend. read more

Being fairly new to this beautiful small college town it was important to us to find the best groomer for our Golden Retriever babies. We requested Michelle due to all the great reviews. She did not dissappoint. in fact our Milo & Gracie looked so adorable when we picked them up. Leaving them somewhere unknown often causes anxieties to not just them but us as well. She treated them with such care that our Gracie who is usually traumatized being without us for extended periods of time came home very happy. We will definitely be going back. I took my 18 year old weenie dog for a cut and bath with Chasidy. She did an amazing job and Mia was squeaky clean and happy when I picked her up. I wouldn't trust my baby with any other groomer in the area, highly recommend read more
