Clean and friendly petsmart. There's a special area for adopting cats. Clean and stocked with items. Good location next to the highway. Despite being in less than great lodgings, animals has food and water and were clean. I know pet stores don't have the best places to house pets, but at least this one looks good for the animals. There was a nice chalkboard sign outside showing what dog classes were available.

I've been to plenty of pet store but this one.... The poor fish... they say they clean there bettas every day I found 3 dead bettas and majority of them were severely sick. Algae growing in over 20 cups. In my opinion I don't think any fish should be stored in a plastic cup with 1/8 in areas of air . After asking for the manager to talk about fixing these poor fishy's cups she told me she'll have some one take care of it . I was in there for a good amount of time and nothing had been done . She instead just pushed me off to a college employee and told me she'll handle me the rest of the way. She was quite snarky and rude about me being nicely concerned about animals that THEY SELL! PetSmart definitely needs to be held to a higher standard with bettas . They are so smart and resilient ! Smarter then a lot of other fish they have in big tanks. The actual big fish tanks were low on sand you could see half the floor , water was poopy and gross, picosmos fish were eating dead fish in the back of the fish tank! I should've taken more pictures of the conditions I was just utterly baffled that you could be a pet store and only sell reptiles fish and gerbils, and still fail to be able to take care of some fish!! They didn't ask to be there . I was scared to buy a fish. I did buy some because I felt disgustingly bad to leave any of them there but I will be putting them in a quarantine tank for they might actually get my fish sick!! Definitely needs new management she defiantly has no clue what she is doing definitely needs to find a new job. The job she's doing is killing animals.

I have been a consumer of PetSmart since inception. That's a very strong statement. I must be a fan, right? And I am! However, I am first and foremost my pets' advocate and caretaker, and PetSmart has been my go to company for 40+ years. So my current rating is based strictly on my experience last two times that I have had my elder Great Pyrenees washed and brushed out, at two different locations. I am less unhappy with the latter than the former. Here is what I am most frustrated with. Both times I spent a lot of effort to communicate, and confirm they heard, that his mane, skirts and layers where not to be touched. The first time, his mane was 3" shorter and his skirts were "feathered"... this time, overall a much better experience yet, once again, I was not listened to. I very specifically said, no cutting or trimming anywhere except to trim his fuzzy paws. I even called out potential mats between his legs... I said if they find a mat that they can't work out with conditioner, to leave it! So-- Why did you shave his belly?

Took this photo in frustration they were continually out of egg sticks, but as of Jan '16 they've been much better.

Love-hate relationship here. I love they don't sell cats or dogs, but instead bring in rescue groups to adopt out. I love they offer training, which makes both sides happier. I love they are conveniently located for me. I love their employees get holidays off and part-timers can get health insurance. I love they've been better about stocking egg sticks lately. I appreciate they don't sell live feeders (frozen pinkies and up are in the fridge by the fish section). When the little independent stores are out of what I want, I know I have a good chance of finding substitute products here. I am glad they carry different varieties of food and treats from grocery to premium (do read your ingredients so you know what you're paying for!) for customers' different needs and priorities. I'm glad of their return policy and very glad I've not yet needed to test it. I wish the snakes and most other critters had bigger habitats and that they didn't use the Banfield vet to treat in house. I wish they usually had more registers open. I am aware I pay more here than I might elsewhere, but again--convenience. I wish more staff were scheduled through the day or at least at peak periods.

I was hoping it would be a positive experience for him to socialize with other dogs, I didn't expect to have as much fun as I have going with him though. The class format is 15 minutes off-leash play interspersed with 5-10 minute guided on-leash sessions. You focus on one command each class with the idea being that you learn the basics of teaching the command and finish the training on your own at home. I like that the focus is on practical commands and not silly tricks (not against teaching those, just figure you can teach those on your own time). Our instructor, Bridget, has been great. I can imagine it's tough working a room with as many as a dozen or so pups running around, but she always took time to give everyone individual attention and make herself available for questions and practical answers. It's also a great way to meet other people. I'd often look forward to seeing some of the pup parents as much as their pups each week. Overall, it's a great environment for everyone and as an added bonus we attended the class held at Austin Corner Vet East, which is fantastic since that's also our vet. Dahboo's now excited to pull into the parking lot of his vet -- mission accomplished! :) We've enjoyed the class so much we'll be continuing on with the next class in the sequence and look forward to more fun working with Karma Dog Training as Dahboo works toward his therapy certification.

As a first-time puppy parent, I was somewhat unsure of what to expect with a new puppy, and the trainers provided excellent coaching and advice throughout our 7-week class. During the first class, Dexter was so nervous that he was finding every corner possible to hide in. The trainers coached us on the best ways to encourage Dexter to socialize and by the third week of class, he was eager and excited to play with all the other puppies. The socialization aspect of class was exactly what our shy puppy needed to come out of his shell. In addition to that, the training portion of the class was very helpful. Each class focused on one of the seven basic commands that puppies need to learn, and Darci provided very clear explanations of how to teach and reinforce each command. Then, we were able to practice and get feedback from Darci and the other trainers in order to help Dexter master each command. Finally, Karma Dog Training provides excellent customer service. Any time I have reached out with a question or scheduling conflict, they have responded within hours with a helpful and understanding response. Dexter can't wait to continue with the next level of classes at Karma Dog Training!

Victor is phenomenal! I needed to board Gio, this year for Christmas and I decided to go back to Kanine Kaliber; they do boarding as well. Again, Victor is great! Very informative, VERY knowledgeable about dog behavior and what I love is that he treats your dog as if it was his own. Even after a year, he was still giving me pointers on Gio's training. He called me to tell me that my Gio wasn't eating. He had already tried different solutions to help him eat before he called me. After speaking with him and brainstorming the issue, realized my dog's food was different. Same brand and formula, except the one I bought to take to the facility, didn't have the shredded chicken pieces in it. And since I hadn't left town yet, I was able to bring over the food I had at my house. I called the next day and I was happy to know that he was eating. I really need to pay more attention to the bag next time. I'm grateful for Victor. If you need a dog trainer or a place to board your dog, I HIGHLY recommend Kanine Kaliber and Victor.

I reached out to Matt for virtual dog training appointments to help us through that, and his guidance and great wisdom around dog psychology and behavior and deep empathy for Ryder and in general made such a huge impact. I learned from Matt how to help Ryder through his fear and trauma and how to recognize when he was experiencing trauma (for example, he developed a new and strong fear of rumbling engines). By applying Matt's empathetic practices, Ryder has become much less fearful, is no longer afraid of rumbling engines or playing with other dogs and he's back to his old happy, playful, super enthusiastic and friendly self!! :) Matt also greatly helped my dog Ellie through the excessive anxiety that resulted from my marital separation and helped us learn what an impact the breaking of that social bond had on her and how to address it! We now give her the extra attention she needs when doing hand offs to switch between homes.
