We inherited Gretta our Dobermann when my parents passed away. She had extreme fearfulness and separation anxiety, and no confidence (she would cower in fear at life). We were initially going to bring her into our home, but we were feeling very nervous and anxious because we weren't sure if we had the skills or time to help her overcome these issues and take care of her. So we found Daniel's company and decided to go with a 3 week board and train to help instill some foundation in both Gretta as well as us since we were new dog owners. We were incredibly impressed by the improvements!! The training on us as dog owners began right away, we got to go for a lesson each week and Daniel helped train us in how to handle Gretta and understand her behaviours. At the same time, he was working with Gretta each day to overcome her fears, give her confidence, manners, and basic obedience. At the end of 3 weeks we couldn't believe that Gretta was our dog (in fact we're only half certain that he didn't just replace her with another Doberman...). Daniel was very responsive and having lifetime support and assistance as well as future training sessions with Daniel gives us the confidence that we need to know we can take Gretta to da moon!

I can't say enough good about Sig K9! You hear every single company say "we stand by our product," but its very rare that they actually mean it. Sig K9 took that to a whole different level with our dog Emori. Sig K9 was HIGHLY recommended by a family friend who said they transformed their dog in the best ways possible. So, when we decided to send Emori for a 2-week stay-and-train we were so excited to see the results! Well...then we got her back. She was better behaved, but it didn't meet the expectations we had based on reviews, and based on what her trainer explained during our initial consultation. We gave it a couple weeks to see if it would get better, but we couldn't shake our disappointment. We talked to our family friends, and they insisted we call the owner, Daniel (who was not our initial trainer). Long story short, Daniel explained that Emori's trainer was no longer with the company, and he was very empathetic with our situation. Almost every business (nowadays) would say something diplomatic about how they're sorry, but also find a way to not be liable. Not Daniel. He was visibly frustrated for us and our experience. You can tell he takes extreme pride in his brand, and his business' results. He wanted to right the wrong, and provided 2 MORE WEEKS of additional, and advanced boarding and training for FREE! We were blown away by his offer. It's what you want to expect from a good business, but it just doesn't happen anymore. When we got Emori back from Daniel, we finally got to experience the amazing results everyone talked about in these reviews! She was a different dog, in all the best ways. The biggest difference was her confidence! Before, she had serious anxiety issues, but you could see a positive improvement in just the two weeks she was with Daniel. That has only gotten better since she's been home. She still has anxiety, its just in her genes, but she's worlds better than before Sig K9 trained her. We took Emori to the beach last weekend, an idea we wouldn't have even entertained before Sig K9. She was great! Distractions were everywhere, but she was so well behaved the entire time. She got several compliments as well. It's not very nice to say, but Emori's anxiety and bad behavior was driving us crazy, and we were very close to giving up on her. Sig K9 brought out the very best in Emori, AND in us as her owners. They went above and beyond to create a happy customer, and they successed! Just like our family friends, we HIGHLY recommend using Signature K9 to train your pup.

We have a 100+ lb, 8-year-old German Shepherd named Tore with serious anxiety and aggressive behavior. He is a very intelligent dog and generally very obedient unless there is a stranger or another dog nearby, in which case he would become completely uncontrollable. We had paid many positive reinforcement oriented trainers to help us out when he was younger and less aggressive, which helped establish the obedience but did little to curb the impulse control and aggression. He was manageable for the first 5 years or so, but as we had kids and they got older we prioritized working with him less and less and he regressed into a very bad state. Up until about 6 months ago the aggressive behavior had never been targeted towards our family, however we had an incident where he gave my son a warning bit on the hand. My son had reached out to grab his collar to try to bring him inside and he didn't want to go. The bite was definitely a warning and not intended to do damage, but still left a rather deep puncture wound and an even deeper relationship damage between the kids, my wife, and the dog. Our vet recommended euthanasia. We contacted numerous trainers who were either unwilling or incapable of working with him due to his age and the bite incident. We finally happened upon Daniel who was provided to us as a reference from one of the trainers who said no. Daniel was the breath of fresh air that we needed. After a brief consultation, he very calmly and clearly explained the root cause driving Tore's behavior, much of which was frankly on us, which we expected. He felt confident Tore could be rehabilitated and that he could teach us how to manage him long term. Daniel accepted Tore into his 6-week board & train program where he takes the dog M-F, gives him back for the weekend, then starts again on Monday. Throughout the program Daniel provided updates on progress and was always available for questions. While this was not an overnight magic wand, we noticed an immediate and significant difference from that very first weekend that Tore was back in the house. We are now wrapping up week 7, the first week after conclusion of the program, and Tore's presence in this house is a night and day difference. There are still hiccups (he is 8 after all), we've had the growling incidents when he doesn't want to comply, and he still gets worked up at strangers and expresses anxiety in certain situations, but the key is that it is now manageable, and we can get it to stop without having to throw him in a different room. Further, it gets more quickly managed with each passing day and incident where Tore is put to the test. Do not get me wrong, Daniel will not help you if you are not willing to put in the work, and it is a lot of work. Full Stop. But I firmly believe that this man can rehabilitate any dog if the owner holds themselves accountable to the structure of the program. I appreciated Daniel's communication style, once I opened the door for it our conversations took on a more casual tone that I enjoyed. I felt and continue to feel that Daniel truly cares about Tore and has a passion for what he does. He provided quite a few add-on services that most would have charged for and he didn't. For example, he helped us manage Tore for a vet visit to take a look at a potential leg injury (in-office vet visits were something I frankly didn't think would ever be possible for this dog). He also offers boarding services at a very reasonable rate for his clients which is a huge win for us (he's boarding Tore for us this weekend so we can go see family for Thanksgiving). Highly recommend Daniel's services...and bonus - you're supporting a veteran owned business if you hire him. read more

Daniel is amazing!! I have a doberman Nova who is reactive and I needed a lot of help with her. Daniel has helped me so much! I have been to another trainer before and what Daniel has taught me is so different. The way he is able to see the dog's body language, explain it to me, and react to it properly is crazy! He is very thorough and makes sure you understand what's going on before moving on. I have seen such a difference in Nova and her behavior even just after the first week, it's like two completely different dogs. Daniel is someone I would recommend to anyone struggling with their dog and I will never use anyone else for my future dogs. read more

Daniel is great at training the owner & pet! He taught useful and practical tools that are helpful in everyday life. I found it particularly useful that he had other dogs that could be used in the training process, as my dog needed to learn how behave properly when around a strange dog. He gave me lots of tools that will help my dog to be well mannered at home and in public. read more

Signature K9 has been the best thing to happen to me and my dog. This is much more than just dog training. This was an eye-opening, life changing experience! After the 3 week training, Daniel laid the behavioral foundation with my dog (place, sit, heel, separation anxiety, etc), he taught me how to own and sustain the correct behavior moving forward, and he has become a true partner for all things dog related - more training, advice, and boarding. If YOU are ready to commit to a better quality of life for you and your dog, I could not recommend Signature K9 enough. read more
Daniel and I met via a mutual friend, who told me what a great guy he was. I have 4 dogs and one can be quite a handful. I was at my wit's end with him and decided to reach out to Daniel. From the get go, Daniel was respectful, informative and checked in with me almost daily while we waited to get Bhujanga in to training. We went in for our initial consultation and I immediately felt comfortable in the vast knowledge that Daniel has with animals and their behaviors. We were given some things to do with Bhuja to get him in a better place and ready for training. While in training, Daniel reached out often, kept us up to date on all that was going on and sent pictures and video; needless to say, we were more than simply "hopeful" for change. Since getting Bhuja back home, it's been great! He waits at doors, he settles down so easily, he responds easily to commands and is just such a great dog. Not only has Bhujanga been trained, we, as his owners, have a whole new understanding of who he is and how to work with him and provide the best home for him. The best part in all of this, aside from Bhuja being so much better, is that we now have a place to board Bhuja where he can continue to excel and be a better fella and we, as his parents, can continue to learn to be better owners. Daniel is accessible, knowledgeable, compassionate, and absolutely a great guy with a great business. If you're really looking to create a better life for your pet, your home and your life, this is your guy. Thank you, Daniel, and the rest of the team, for doing such a spectacular job! read more

We just got our two dogs back from board and training. One of our dogs suffered from severe anxiety for the past several years and resource guarded. The other one was exhibiting aggression as well as resource guarding. We are absolutely amazed at the difference a few weeks with Daniel made! We can now take our very anxious dog on walks without her barking and whining the whole time. She sleeps in a crate and stays on place. She is so much more confident now and we are enjoying her so much more. We tried other trainers but they never helped nor did they give us the tools Daniel did. Our aggressive puppy hasn't exhibited any aggression since we've brought him home. Daniel helped us understand the issues and worked with him to get him past some barrier issues he had. While the dogs were with Daniel he gave constant updates, was very responsive and answered our many questions. He communicated very clearly what was needed for the training to be successful and our part in that. We could not be happier with the training our dogs (and us) received from Signature K9! read more

We tried many, many dog training classes in the area. After coming to the realization that I am absolutely not a dog trainer, I decided to hand it over to the professionals, and I am extremely grateful that I found the right ones. My defiant Husky/ Malamute was completely wild with established bad habits. He came back from Signature K-9 a champion! Daniel was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and patient with both myself and my Husky. After just 2 Board and Trains, he is now the most well behaved dog. He comes when called and sits at my feet, heels without command, sits at every door, and so much more. I can even make a random patch of grass "place" and he will stay until told otherwise. Investing in Daniel's training has brought freedom to myself and my pup! read more

I had 3 of my dogs at signature k9 for a month in a half. I havent wrote a review right away cause I wanted to see how well the dogs did without the trainers around and how they would act with just my family. Dog 1 Q: she seems to be the most receptive to commands and most eager to do things quick and without any hesitation! I am so impressed with what they were able to do with her she is still learning of course and I'm following their directions but I am 100% amazed and happy with the results! Dog 2 Eve: she tends to be a bit slower with commands but the fact she knows them again floors me I am very happy with all shes learned and how well she behaves! Another A plus! Dog 3 Xenu: this is the one that isnt a puppy. But I am so thankful for signature k9 for taking him on. He was very destructive and overly aggressive with other dogs. Sadly he had super crazy separation anxiety and wouldnt stay in the crate at all however with signature k9 finding a fix for him busting out and tearing things up when I was unable to be there I am truly thankful! I would HIGHLY recommend signature k9 academy! I've been around dogs my entire life and just didnt have the time to get them where they are now. I honestly dont think I could have done as well as they have either! So if you have pups or an aggressive/separation anxiety dog in your home instead of making the poor dog suffer send it to signature k9 academy let him/her be a happy dog! Thank you signature k9 you all are awesome! read more

Fair pricing, great service, and extensive knowledge. We purchased three private lessons and had Daniel as our trainer. We saw a great improvement in our dog after only one training session. We put in the work and it showed, our dog was really learning from the techniques that Daniel showed us. We completed the three sessions and I could not be any happier. Our dog is doing great and has excelled in her learning due to Daniel's extensive training knowledge. We plan to take a break and then purchase another three sessions for advanced training. K9 offers many other services including boarding, train and board, and group sessions. I highly recommend their services. read more

You guys, if your looking for a place for you to have better communication with your dog. This. Is. The. Place. Daniel and his team took our out of control husky (big b) that would frequently attack our senior dog and gave us back a well disciplined good boy with lots of structure. Along with big b getting help. Daniel and his team showed us how we were creating a toxic environment for our dog. Learning how we were enabling our dog to act out was a real eye opener. Big b was at one of Signature board and training programs. I am shocked in just 3 weeks, he's like a totally different dog. I am so grateful Signature did give us well detailed rules and plans on how to keep the peace and ease big b back into the house. I am no longer anxious all the time worrying about another dog attack. Icing on the cake? Signature offers boarding for dogs that have completed their programs. I feel good to know he has somewhere to go and board and receive follow up training while we are away. read more

We were gifted a puppy we desired as a wedding gift. Said puppy is a Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff) which could grow to become +150 to 200 lbs as an adult. The concerns were real as to our puppies safety, ability to effectively manage + safe and responsible interactions of our puppy 'Nas' to other persons and dogs. Google reviews we already saw for Daniels program at Signature K-9 Training Academy are well warranted. Daniel takes a drill sergeant with a sense of humor approach. Correcting behavioral traits built into the breed and also owner habits that need to improve for controlled care of the dog and its surroundings. Our training package was 2 weeks boarding and included some in person sessions (with observations of safe parameters). Really grateful for the input and process in place that gave us additional confidence to really take care of such an intelligent, energetic and potentially large breed. Our leash management, food schedule, control of reactions and daily training routine is fine-tuned thanks to Signature K-9. Located in Elgin, TX at a sprawling gated and secured 14 acre facility with training bay, kennel hall, pool, exercise court, obstacle course and other dogs to interact with. House calls and in-person training 1:1 sessions were also available plus a good grooming service is on hand. Thankful for the training and would send our dog to Signature K-9 for continued training as he grows. Recommended! read more

One of the best decisions I've made, and it helped a great deal but for the money paid i was assuming to have a completely trained dog but we still work on it daily. Loved how kept up to date i was and how there is a day included after the boarding for him to go back and get another refresher or what not. Everyone is so friendly and would definitely recommend to friends! read more

My wife and I had previously used Signature K9 Academy for a 3-week Board and train with our, at that time, year old husky. We experienced amazing results in that time, so much so that we recently contacted Signature K9 to board our dog while we were away. Once again, the crew and Signature K9 exceeded our expectations. Not only is there property beautiful, spacious and incredibly conducive to dog play/training, we recieved daily updates with pictures and videos of our pup. Fine tuning and reinforcement of the training techniques was provided, so not only did I have reassurance that our dog was in great and loving hands, she was also reviewing the training she previously learned. All in all, Signature K9 once again exceeded our expectations, it's such a huge relief knowing our dog is in such great hands when with them. read more

LONG POST-- SUMMARY OF IT IS PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. It's taken me awhile to post my review of this company and I'm only now starting to get over the trauma this company has inflicted. I sent my golden retriever puppy away for a two week board and train with the intentions of them helping fix his separation anxiety, walk better on leash, stop jumping, and just generally better obedience. He was already very good for being an 8 month old puppy, but there were just a couple behaviors I needed help eliminating. I initially spoke with Lexus and she assured me that she would be able to help. A few days before he was supposed to go, I received a call saying that Lexus could no longer take him and he would be going with Mandy but all of the trainers worked together and would be able to give each support when needed. When I got my dog back, nothing was different and my dog actually seemed to have worse separation anxiety than before and more negative behaviors. He also came back with a papilloma in his mouth for which I had to see a vet. I worked really hard with him for the next several days hoping it was just him getting used to being home. After I saw no signs of improvement, I asked for the follow up appointment to be moved up so that we could continue working on these behaviors and I never received a response. I never received a personal response but did receive a generic text message from them asking for my review of the training and I told them I honestly felt like I had flushed $2000 down the toilet. Dan reached out very quickly to see what the problem was and to see if he could help. I sent him videos I had of my dog's behavior and he agreed to come see us. He and Mandy came to my apartment and he was quite defensive. He kept asking me why I did things a certain way and I told him that is what Mandy had taught me and she agreed and said that is what she told me to do. At the end of this meeting, he offered for Mandy to take my dog for another ten days and would continue working on his skills and introduce off leash Ecollar training. He said he would be there to support her and make sure I was satisfied with the training. Mandy texted me 5 days later saying she could drop him off after 8 days of training. I said that would work but I get off work late that night so she said she would drop him off the next day. I thought everything was going well, despite not receiving any training videos from her. I get a call from Lexus the day I was supposed to get my puppy back saying that they were going to keep him for another week (it honestly didn't even feel like they were asking my permission). I initially agreed, but then became afraid that maybe he had been hurt or ran away (look for other post where owner was not notified when their dog ran away). I asked to pick him up that day and that I had already given them over 3 weeks with him and didn't understand why I was just finding out that day that they needed more time. After an hour and a half of them giving me the run around and then telling me how sorry they were and that Mandy was on the verge of being terminated (I have the text messages if anyone would like to see), I was finally given the address where I could pick him up. When I arrived, my goal was to get myself and my dog out of there safely. When she finally took me to my dog, he was shaking in a crate. Dan never reached out to me after this. I emailed him a few days later telling him how upset I was over the treatment of my dog and asked how he could put him back with a seemingly inept trainer that was on the verge of being fired after he promised me he would be there to help Mandy with the training. I asked for my money to be returned since NONE of the behaviors I wanted them to work on have improved. Dan responded with such disrespect and blamed me for pulling my dog out early. Dan took ZERO ownership of his trainer and her inability to train my dog. Do not trust this man with your dog. I felt bullied and belittled and worry that he would do the same to another trusting customer. I have emails if anyone would like to see how he spoke to me and decide for yourself if this is someone you'd like to do business with. I am still considering legal action, but wanted to share this post first so others do not make the same mistake I did. I fully expect that they will try to diminish everything I wrote, but I never write negative reviews and I absolutely don't take the impact of a negative review lightly. read more

My 1 year old rescue Cleo attended Daniel's 2 week board and train. She was having issues with confidence, separation anxiety, destructive behavior, and walking on a leash especially. Daniel and his crew definitely gave her a new foundation to continue to build on. He kept me updated throughout her stay there and she looked so happy in all of the photos. He has continued to provide support after the 2 week training and I will likely do further training with him in the future to get her certified as a therapy dog. Walking Cleo is no longer stressful but actually enjoyable. Our relationship is getting better every day and I can see her confidence and personality coming out thanks to Daniel and his team's help. Highly recommend! read more

My husband and I are AMAZED! Our dog, Whiskey, just came back from a 3 week board and train with Daniel. He still has his quirky personality but now has manners. I didn't think we'd ever be able to walk Whiskey without him pulling us and now not only does he walk right beside us on leash, he also walks right beside us off leash! And his place command!! When the door bell rings and we have someone coming over we put him in his "place", he stays there until he is calm and we're ready for him to be off. Not jumping all over our guests. We highly recommend Signature K9 Training Academy! The care and passion Daniel has for his training and the fact that Whiskey stayed at his house and not at a boarding facility made for an extremely pleasant experience. read more

Daniel and team are awesome. We sent both our dogs, jack, 1.5 yo 95 lb german shepherd and jill 1.5 yo 55 lb American Staffordshire. Jack we had since puppy, jill we got as a rescue 6 months ago. Jill was always nervous and unsure, and jack started to go thru his teenage years. At home they behaved, and were great/polite with company and granddaughters ( 3 and 9) but could be better. But, put them on a leash to go out and only the hardiest could hold them with their lunging; doorbell rings or hear something outside, barking we couldn't stop. It got so bad Jack bark at dogs, animals small children on the tv. I found daniel online, and he came over for a consult and quickly identified our pups issues. Jill was overly anxious due to abondoment issues and was too nervous to bond or relax, and jack a typical gsd. It took 2 months on our part to commit to Daniel's recommended 3 week board and train, but we wanted the best for our dogs and needed Daniel's help to get our pups on the right path for all of us. Well worth the time and expense. I made a long list of things we wanted corrected/ trained and the dogs couldnt learn it all, but that didnt matter. Jack and jill have been home for 2 weeks, and we can happily state everyone is much happier and well behaved. We are still retraining our selves to be more consistent however even the changes we are making has made our lives much more enjoyable. Jill is relaxed and wants to be with us. Both dogs walk well on leash no lunging, no pulling no barking. Jack barks occasionally inside but stops immediately with one command. Days will go by without a bark while in the backyard and we have squirrels, birds, bugs, rabbits and geckos. They sit and dont move on command. We still have training to do to make our pups even better behaved and happy, but daniel helped get us to a place we can continue on our own, though at a much slower pace. We are so happy with the results. Well worth the price for the next year of home dog people happiness. read more

I reached out to Signature K9 when I realized that my 1yo, Intact German Shepherd was showing some behavior issues that I did not know how to address. I am able to bring my dog "Leko" to work every day, which is great, but presented some challenges. At 1yo, Leko had never been away from me for more than a few hours, I could bring him almost everywhere, so I did, this led to some behavior problems related to lack of confidence. The first assessment that Trainer Lexus did with us was so eye opening. She saw exactly what his behavior patterns were and knew what he needed. More importantly, after watching Lexus interact with my dog I knew that I could have total confidence that he was being cared for, trained and loved on. A two week board and train was absolutely life changing for both Leko and I. His new confidence translated into less barking at strangers and increased ease around new people and situations. Since Lekos board and train, Trainer Lexus has been available for all sorts of questions and advice on how do address new issues and challenges. I could not have asked for a better experience with a trainer. Trainer Lexus has extensive background in dog training and it shows. The results speak for themselves. I have a "good" dog and we are still working off and on with Lexus to refine and improve. I cannot stress enough how important it is to trust the dog trainer, I could not imagine training anywhere else. Signature K9 has been in all ways fantastic. read more
