Bill did an outstanding job with our crazy adopted red heeler/catahoula mix. She went to stay with him for training for 6 weeks, and he felt that she needed an extra week or two, but there was no extra charge. The cost for the 6 week program was less than half the cost I found other places charging. Our dog went to him with serious aggression towards other dogs - she almost killed our shepherd mix - and she came back from Red Iron Kennels a new dog! she is playing with neighborhood dogs! It's truly incredible what Bill was able to do for us. 10/10 recommend! read more

We took our 2+ year old pointer mix to Bill for 6 week obedience training. We needed help training our dog to respond to us off-leash, as well as socializing him a bit more. Bill is far and away the most competent trainer we've ever come across. Our dog was heeling very well after 4+ weeks, as well as traveling nicely within the pack and interacting with no problems whatsoever. After the full 6 weeks and a return home, our dog is behaving perfectly. We're taking him on walks without a leash, and he knows his place within our family. Bill also provides a very reasonable rate. We couldn't recommend Bill more. read more

Bill was the best person I could have met. I was having problems with a dog who was aggressive towards other dogs, didn't follow instructions and would bark uncontrollably whenever I left the house. Took our lab to Bill back in September of 2000. We did the 6 week obedience course and I couldn't have been happier with the results. The training is very simple and easy to master for dog and owner. This investment was one of the best I've ever made. We lost our dog very recently, but had 15 wonderful years with him. I never had a concern taking him anywhere, including environments with non-dog people, children, etc. As soon as our new pup is old enough, she'll be going to Red Iron as well. read more

We have been using Bill for our dogs for over ten years, various dogs and various issues we wanted to resolved, and are always pleased with the outcome. It is very comforting and actually priceless, to know your pets are in the best hands. We were at our wits end with our year old lab upon hearing numerous people repeatedly recommend Red Iron Kennels. We called Bill the owner and were able to drop him off the next day for 6 weeks of training. Bill is the cream of the crop! He is beyond knowledgable and helpful! We visited our dog 4 times prior to bringing him home in order to learn what has been taught. Each visit we were more impressed than we could have imagined! Our dog has definitely calmed down and is obedient which we did not think was even possible. Bill mentioned numerous times that should any issues or questions arise we are more than welcome to call or bring him back out for a quick lesson all included in the $800 total! When initially calling around other training programs were more than 4x that amount! We look forward to using Red Iron Kennels and Bill for boarding in the future. His rates for boarding are beyond reasonable...$15 per night and an extra $5 each day to do refresher training/new training! Save your sanity and send your naughty dogs to Bill! We cannot say enough good things about Bill @ Red Iron Kennels. We were originally going to board our 9month old Boxer puppy there during spring break but ended up keeping her there for just shy of 8 weeks. He off-leash trained her which is not just running next to you or responding when she's running in a field but it trains her how to be well-behaved at home, with the rambunctious kids, greeting others and interaction with other dogs. When we dropped her off she was running crazy, darting out the front door, clobbering the kids and jumping fences. She no longer does any of that! We definitely have to continue the training at home (which is just part of our daily life) but it's easy since the last few weeks we went out there twice weekly to get ourselves trained for our "new" puppy. His prices cannot be beat! You can either board her or for a small up charge board & train her. From now on when we're out of town we'll take here there and include training refreshers. As a side note, we had previously tried two other types of training and both were ineffective, this was a total success! read more
