Wonderful service! when we were there a lady not too far from us was having issues with her waitress but the waitress did nothing wrong, when the server took care of us she was kind and very helpful and professional. The rude customer was very demanding, pointed in the servers face and really gave her a hard time. But the waitress stayed very professional through it all! Good job on her part! we enjoyed the food but we will certainly be back for the wonderful service we had! she was a 10/10 and handled the horrible horrible customer near us with kindness and professionalism! I will absolutely be back! our waitress worked hard and brought a smile to our faces along with our wonderful food! Kindness is easy to spread, its never the right time to be rude to a waitress or waiter, they work hard and provide us with good meals! Went for lunch today after hunting for waterfalls. Super clean place with clean restrooms. The menu is supportive of local produce and food sources. We started with the crab fritters (6 pieces) and they were scrumptious. We also had edamame and they were fresh with the perfect amount of course salt. Local tap water was tasty and we went through 2 bottles. Hubs had a burger that he ordered Well done and it came out med rare. Steve our waiter was quick to take it back and get a replacement. I honestly think our table neighbors and our order were mixed up bc I heard him mention his was supposed to be med rare and it was over cooked. My daughter got the stuffed portabella and it was delicious. I got the shrimp poyboy. It was good - shrimp were seasoned and cooked perfectly. It was a little dry but I am spoiled to good New Orleans crusty French rolls and these were just ok. I am disappointed bc they had butternut squash soup and I forgot to order that. I definitely recommend and enjoyed our visit. I would definitely return. read more

I ate there with a group of friends. I ordered a burger, and was disappointed. It was dry and tasteless, and I could tell it was a pre-made patty. I had the maple chips, which were good, but too browned. I ordered the lobster bisque soup, which was delicious! Wished I had just ordered the soup and side salad. Such a lovely place. My husband and I were walking around in Franklin and saw this place and decided to try it out. Man, what a great move! The food was absolutely delectable. My husband had a chicken plate with truffle mashed potatoes and I had salmon with a lemon drizzle and seared brussel sprouts. I cannot wait to go back and try other things on the menu. This place is totally overrated. Four of us went for lunch and none of us were impressed at all. The salad I had came with smoked Gouda (guess I should have known better) but the Gouda was so strong that it totally overpowered the rest of the salad. Goat cheese would have been much better. First night in Franklin and this was a great find. Excellent food like you would find in a major city but at small town prices.

This was the most relaxing and enjoyable experience we ever had at a restaurant. Our server, Emily, was awesome. She had us laughing and just enjoying our time. We arrived about an hour before dinner service but instead of being turned away we were invited to sit and enjoy a appetizer and a couple of cocktails while the switched to dinner service. e had great conversation and everyone was so inviting. We felt immediately at ease. When it was time we both ordered the Ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. After we enjoyed a delicious ice-cream and a final cocktail. Well, Franklin has a great restaurant. Fantastic tasting food. The name Gracious Plates means large portions. The food was fantastic. I had pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. Wife had a great salad with chicken. For starters we had olive tapenade and the other one was Portobello mushrooms. Both were fantastic. Our server, Esteban (Steve) was our waiter. He nailed it. Coffee came with real cream. My only hope, as we intend to be frequent patrons, is they offer different options as time goes by. Bill was $76. Can NOT beat that for a wonderful meal. read more

Since our small town receives a massive influx of visitors, part time residents, tourists, I thought I would add another review to this wonderful establishment. This time it is slightly different. Yesterday a group of friends decided to go for their Sunday Brunch. Separate menu from the regular menu. We started with the Flatbread appetizer. Off the chart delicious. One couple got the grit cake with bacon and egg. We got the BLT with fried egg. Since everyone likes their eggs prepared differently, I went down the middle. Not too runny or overcooked. It was perfect. One got fries and we opted for diced potatoes cooked and seasoned perfectly. We chose to celebrate with champagne and dessert. The dessert was a large piece of lemon cake with a nice tangy flavor to cleanse the palate. Our server, Victoria, is attentive and knowledgeable. Hope you can have her. Place was packed. Went with a party of six last night and was very disappointed in the fact I left without food. We waited about 30 minutes to order. I asked for a larger cup for water since they give a tiny glass when you sit down. I never even received my water cup. It took over an hour and a half for us to receive our food. I ordered a pasta with pork and it was clear they had made it first, and it was half heartedly reheated before they brought it out. The pasta was hard from sitting out and being reheated. It also lacked flavor to be honest. But I would have still ate it had it not been luke warm. The waiter asked if I wanted a new plate and I politely told him no because it took an hour and a half to get the first plate. I had two friends orders also have cold sides they couldn't eat. Eventually what I believe was a manager came by and we spoke with her and she told us they had someone new in the kitchen (as everyone says when something is wrong) and said she would take off the sides and my meal. And hoped we would try it again. Not very sympathetic or even tried to really fix the experience. Next time at least try offering a ready made dessert or something since I literally left with an empty belly and had to choose to go to sonic after just for food. I don't want to knock down a local business, but there was too many things wrong. Service wasn't good. It was hard to catch the attention of someone for service, portions are too tiny for the quality, and you leave hungry wether you get a meal or not. read more

I had the Tellico Valley salad with grilled shrimp and it was delicious! Fresh greens, fantastic lime vinaigrette! I would get that again. My wife got the pork tenderloins, be sure to order how you like them. Medium still had a bit of pink in the middle, for her could have gone a minute more. I was thinking about next time having the pork tenderloins, add the grilled shrimp and a side of the lime dressing, I bet that would be amazing. Really sweet staff and so glad to see a decent restaurant filled the space. Oh and they got their liquor license so they have cocktails, wine and beer now. read more

This was my third visit to Gracious Plates on Main. Food was very good and tasty. I had the Cartoogechaye with chicken. I would think that with an added charge of $8 for the added chicken, one might get more than the few (maybe 6) slices of chicken, about 1/4" thick 1"x2 1/2". My wife had the Pasta with seasonal vegetables. There were four slices of zucchini and the pasta with a white wine sauce. She asked for some Parmesan Cheese. The waitress did bring a small dish containing about a tablespoon of the grated cheese. We both had two glasses of wine (which area small pours btw), I was reluctant to have a second pour because I hadn't finished my glass. The waitress poured my wine in my glass and gave "a little higher pour," since I had some wine in my glass. I had about 3/4" of wine and the extra pour was about 1/4 above their standard pour. Our bill came to around $90 which included the tip. And we did notice the extra cheese my wife had asked for had a charge of $2 added. I most likely will go again and see if things improve, but not while this last experience is fresh in my mind. read more
