Halibut burger with potato wedges
Melanie E.

The rating is based on a dine-in dinner experience. Ambiance: 5/5 - A great place to dine with friends and family for special occasions or just because... Service: 5/5 - our server, Bailey came to check on us often Food: 5/5 - ordered the halibut burger wrapped in lettuce rather than a brioche bun. It came with potato wedges. The fish was cooked to perfection & didn't taste dry. The other dish was the seafood linguine with plenty of prawns, scallops & mussels in tomato sauce. We finished the meal off with crème crème brulee. I recommend all 3 dishes. There's an extensive taco menu. Great choices for vegans and vegetarians. Value: 5/5 - reasonably priced compared to city prices Parking: 5/5 - complimentary parking in front If you're ever in the neighbourhood in need of a good meal especially before or after a ferry ride, this is the place to go! Can't wait to come back to try their tacos.

Holy! I had the rib bites. Wow. Orange habanero glaze with a creamy garlic dip. These are at the top of my ribs list. Prior to that, my number 1 was Tarpy's in Monterey. Go get these yelpers....!!!!!!!!!

Seems like a pretentious place and a party budged in front of me. I was like screw this, so I just headed to White Spot instead.

The food at Browns is still pretty darn tasty. The noise level (restaurant area) was unusually loud. Our server had difficulty hearing our order, and we could not hear him. (This was early evening on a Thursday. I might expect a harsh cacophony on a Saturday night when a game was on TV, but a Thursday?) We moved into the bar area, where the noise was a bit below airport-runway levels. I'd also recommend bringing along a flashlight (or flashlight app) to read the menu. I've got 20-20 vision, and had quite a bit of trouble reading in the darkly lit dining room. The food, of course, was outstanding.

We came early when it wasn't too busy to hit up their happy hour! The place is super cute and…read moretrendy with outside seating and a huge bar. I ordered Fiesta Fries, Crispy Yam and Avocado roll, and cauliflower bites and was really disappointed with the quality of food. The fiesta fries were not fresh or warm, the toppings were lackluster, and the sprinkle of feta was disappointing (see photo). The roll was better but the rice was over cooked and soggy. The cauliflower was fresh but lacked any flavor (unless you drenched it with the sauce) My sister ordered the steak and pasta and she really liked it and the portion/price was great. I should have stuck with my usual tofu bowl which is always a hit!

But if you come for food, prepared to be delighted. Chef Cam and Tamra have created a menu that calls you back again and again. You can go for the best smash burger you've ever had, but I lean towards their Tuscan pasta or rack of lamb. You might not expect to get this quality of food in a small town, but prepared to be amazed. And, Tamra hosts stunning themed nights - a journey for the senses! https://www.thepier.restaurant/

We arrived at The Pier in Point Roberts at 7:30pm, an hour and a half before their posted 9pm closing time. There were still multiple tables actively dining, yet the host immediately shut us down with a blunt "Nope, we're closed," with zero explanation and an unmistakably dismissive attitude. When my sister politely asked if there was anywhere else nearby that might still be open, the response was another cold "Nope, none," again without even making eye contact. No effort to be helpful, no basic courtesy, just outright indifference. If you're going to stop seating early, that's your prerogative, but at least have the decency to communicate it like a professional. This is the hospitality industry, and the absolute bare minimum expectation is basic politeness. That standard was completely ignored here. The fact that guests were still dining while we were treated like an inconvenience only made the experience more confusing and off-putting. It honestly gave the impression that unless you're already "in," you're not welcome. There's no excuse for this level of rudeness.

The staff are all very friendly and welcoming, and Anita in particular was awesome. We asked for recommendations and Anita recommended the Seafood Chowder to start which was to die for!!! Best one my Gf and I have ever had anywhere.. For the main dishes we had the Rack of Lamb, and the Beef Bourguignon and both very delicious and very tender. The owner Roxanne and Stephan came by and mingled with everyone and I have to say are incredible hosts and have done an amazing job with the place and the staff. Did I mention they have a 3-Michelin Star Chef?!! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to any and everyone to stay, relax, enjoy great dining and unwind. Michael and Teresa:)
