The team works with your schedule and doesn't seem to bombard you with spam because they trust in their work/reputation. Build was over in one day. Painting was over in a few hours. Prices were competitive and it looked like the quality was better than the Home Depot/Lowes parking lot samples. The owner, Kevin, was very helpful when he came out to measure placement within our property and answered all of our questions and concerns. We had several features we wanted to customize so this was not a standard "out of the box" build. An antique door and window from Craigs List and window panels from Lowes were no problem or added expense for his crew to put in to our specifications. All was done within one day. This summer when our falling apart fence needed to be replaced we checked with several other companies and DFW Shed & Fence. Pricing was all within the same range. Again, Kevin came out to measure and answer all questions and gave us options so we felt confident in using him again to build our new fence. The two man crew was quick and efficient with the tear down and stayed late that day to complete the new construction and clean up. Kevin also showed up that day to check on the work being done. In a few weeks after drying out, we will stain it ourselves. We are very please with the results for both the studio shed build and fence construction. A five star rating and we would use them again without hesitation.

Do Not Use Them! 1 Star - Would give zero if possible…read more I paid a deposit for a storage building in September and specifically asked the salesperson, Dylan, before paying whether my deposit would be refundable if we ran into issues with permits. I was told it would not be a problem and that the deposit could be refunded if we could not proceed. Shortly after placing the deposit, I began working with the city to obtain the permit. Every time I met one requirement, another requirement was added. After months of back-and-forth with the city, it became clear the project was not going to work right now. I notified Ulrich and requested my refund. Since November, I have been repeatedly told that my refund would be processed, yet month after month nothing has happened. It is now March, and I still have not received the refund. Trying to resolve this, I even offered a compromise and said I would purchase a smaller building instead if they would simply move my existing deposit to that order and give me a fair price. They offered discounts but then refused to apply my original deposit, saying I would have to pay another deposit. Now I'm being told they moved the building from another location and therefore won't refund the money--something that was done without my approval while they already knew I was having permit issues. Over the past several months I have spoken with multiple employees, and each one could see in their system that the refund request had been submitted. Yet the issue still has not been resolved. At this point, I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication, accountability, and follow-through. I simply want the refund I was told I would receive.

After delivery, we noticed a bunch of little craftsman type issues, that we determined weren't a big deal since we were planning to add drywall and flooring, etc. We figured since none of it appeared to be anything major and they would be covered up anyway, we would just let them go. The one thing we decided needed to be addressed is the French door that locks in place isn't locking in place at the bottom, the pin will not go down into the hole. This has been the case from day one. I attempted to reach someone at Ulrich via phone but was unable to get anyone to assist. We decided we would address it late because I was traveling back and forth to my parents' house, home and to the hospital, which was very taxing. We figured the shed is under the craftmanship warranty and since the doors never worked correctly, it was a craftmanship issue and we could deal with this issue after things slowed down. Hurts to type this, but my mother passed away in April, and after dealing with all that came with that, we decided to attempt to get the door issue resolved. First, we tried calling Ulrich customer service, after being on hold for a couple of minutes, it sent me to voicemail, stating that no representatives were available. I called again a couple days later and the same result. The next step was reaching out to our salesperson. He never responded. I called Urich again a couple months later and left a voice mail requesting someone reach out to me to assist with resolving the issue. I never received a call back. I called again a few days later and again a couple of days after that (did not leave a message). I did reach out via phone a couple more times over the next couple weeks, leaving one additional voicemail and again no call back. Roughly 2 weeks ago, my wife decided that she would go to their website and request a quote on a new shed. Probably not surprising, she received a text message almost immediately and then it was followed up with a phone call from a salesperson, not even 5 minutes after the text. She answered the phone and told the individual the reason for the call, and she was helpful in trying to get the information to the right people at Ulrich to assist us. She asked us to send pictures of the issue which we did. A few days later, I received a text message from a project manager stating that the shed needed to be re-leveled and that that's not covered under the craftsmanship warranty and would incur a $350.00 fee. He sent a picture of our shed after delivery showing one door closed and the other door open as proof that the door worked after delivery. The door didn't work when I attempted to lock it up that afternoon. I let him know that and he finally wrote that they could send someone out to see if there was an issue with the door or if it in fact needed to be re-leveled. A couple of days went by and nothing, so I reached out again. He responded apologizing for the delayed response and said that he spoke to a representative in Virginia and he was waiting for a date that they could send someone out and anticipated he should receive additional information the following day. I responded that it was fine and that we didn't live there so we needed to coordinate a day with them so I could ensure we were there. Again, no response. I reached out via text to him again, no response. I have called Ulrich at least 12 times at different times of the day and I have never been able to get in contact with anyone. My thoughts are, no matter if Ulrich (or any other company) has a million good reviews, pay close attention to the bad ones, because it's not as important that the experience was good (the experience should be good), the most important thing is how they handle the customers who have bad experiences. I am one of those customers and this issue has been handled terribly.

I recently had a bunch of trees cut down so the area where I wanted the shed was not graded. Well this shed company graded my land with a skid steer, made the concrete pad and came back the next day to begin. Joel and Amos worked extremely hard on the shed that normally takes them 1 day to do but the heat index was in the 100s. So it took them an extra half day but they needed not to rush because this Texas heat has been crazy to work in. I encouraged them to take breaks. Robert Knox, the co-owner, (along with Joel), was awesome from the beginning. He came out to my property with Joel, surveyed the area, determined what all they needed to do for prep and gave me an immediate date for them to start. The quality work they do is flawless! Even after they finished the job, they cleaned up, picking up all trash and debris, removing all tools and took care of my home as it if were their own. I highly recommend these hard working men to build your shed. It truly is a work of art to see them build from the ground up in hours. Knox, Joel and Amos, thank you and may God Bless you!
