The pricing was not that much more expensive than the pre-fab companies like "Tuff Shed", but the worksmanship is infinitely better. Kevin will visit your house to help you envisage what's possible. He is very familiar with local city codes (your HOA CC&Rs may differ, of course). There were no bothersome follow-up sales calls. The team works with your schedule and doesn't seem to bombard you with spam because they trust in their work/reputation. Build was over in one day. Painting was over in a few hours. Kevin kept me up to date on everything as it was happening, and their on-site team was very professional and knowledgeable. I only had to pick out the paint, and the rest easily fell into place. Thanks, team, for your great work!

We first used DFW Shed and Fence Company two years ago to build a small shed in our backyard for my…read morewife to use as an artist studio. Prices were competitive and it looked like the quality was better than the Home Depot/Lowes parking lot samples. The owner, Kevin, was very helpful when he came out to measure placement within our property and answered all of our questions and concerns. We had several features we wanted to customize so this was not a standard "out of the box" build. An antique door and window from Craigs List and window panels from Lowes were no problem or added expense for his crew to put in to our specifications. All was done within one day. This summer when our falling apart fence needed to be replaced we checked with several other companies and DFW Shed & Fence. Pricing was all within the same range. Again, Kevin came out to measure and answer all questions and gave us options so we felt confident in using him again to build our new fence. The two man crew was quick and efficient with the tear down and stayed late that day to complete the new construction and clean up. Kevin also showed up that day to check on the work being done. In a few weeks after drying out, we will stain it ourselves. We are very please with the results for both the studio shed build and fence construction. A five star rating and we would use them again without hesitation.

Stand up product. Stand up company…read more Stand up PEOPLE! They genuinely care about you and your needs. No pushy "salesman-esque" techniques. They ask questions to make sure you get exactly what you need and at a price that you can afford. There are a few of these storage unit companies around. But this one has been in business since 1996 for a good reason. Save yourself the trouble, pressure, and hassle and just shop here.

ONE STAR -- My experience with this company was extremely disappointing…read more I had this building for approximately a year and made my payments. I eventually fell one payment behind during one of the most difficult periods my family has ever faced. My daughter is battling Stage IV metastatic breast cancer, I am helping care for my four grandsons, and I am still working and trying to handle my responsibilities. I did not hide from this company. I CALLED THEM. I explained exactly what was happening and asked for a little time to catch up the payment I was behind. I wasn't asking them to forgive my debt, give me the building for free, or ignore my obligation. I was asking for a little grace and an opportunity to get caught up. My brother is also a customer of this company. He even called on my behalf, explained the circumstances, and offered to help me with the payment. After all of that, I was told they needed two payments or they were coming to pick up the building. So I told them to come get it. Let me be clear: I understand business. I understand contracts. And I understand that if you owe someone money, they have the right to collect it. My problem is the complete lack of compassion, flexibility, professionalism, and basic human consideration I experienced while TRYING to communicate and resolve the situation. There is a difference between enforcing a contract and how you choose to treat another human being while doing it. I would also strongly encourage anyone considering purchasing or renting a building from this company to READ THE ENTIRE CONTRACT -- every page, every paragraph, and every piece of fine print. Ask what the TOTAL cost will be, what happens if you fall behind, what is included in a repossession, and do not assume anything based solely on a sales conversation. Make sure you understand exactly what you're agreeing to before signing. When they retrieved the building, they even picked up the bricks/blocks it had been sitting on. To be fair, the company originally supplied them, so I am not claiming they took something that belonged to me. I simply didn't realize those would be retrieved too. At that point, watching every last brick get loaded up somehow felt like the perfect ending to the entire experience. What disappoints me most is that I wasn't a customer refusing to communicate or refusing to pay. I was a customer going through an extraordinary family crisis who CALLED, explained the situation, asked for time, and had another existing customer willing to help me. I learned a valuable lesson from this experience. Contracts matter -- but so does character. I will take my future business somewhere that understands both. I would not recommend this company based on my experience, and I certainly would not do business with them again.

They helped me every time one of the charity firms let me down. I had an awesome experience with them, and based on that i'd highly recommend them to anyone.

I just wanted to make you aware of our experience with Bekins so that you would not use their…read moreservices. Here is our story. We met and interviewed several moving companies. Bekins said that they would only use Bekins employees and not contract out any of the work. They guaranteed our move in date would be June 10th. They guaranteed our belongs would be well taken care of as well as thorough communication. This is why we went with Bekins. They packed our belongs on time and did a good job. I spoke with their representative in the office as well as the man handling the move at the house and they both guaranteed that we would move in on June 10th. So we planned all of our work schedule and help on June 10th. On June 9th I never heard from Bekins even though all their material states that we would receive a call the day before the move. I called their office around 4 just to make sure everything was okay, and no it wasn't. They were not going to be able to move us until the next day. They explained that other people's moves were more important than ours. On this date the general manager for the Coppell office said he would financially compensate us for our troubles and poor experience thus far with Bekins. So they came the next day to move us in. They had 2 Bekin employees and the rest were contract employees. The two employees stayed in the truck while the contract employees brought all of our belongings in. They didn't put any protective covering on the floor and were in a huge hurry to finish the job so they could get on to another job. They drug potting soil up the stairs, broke a piano leg, nicked an antique table, broke an antique rocking chair's arm, put a hole in a wall, and cut an upholstered chair with a box cutter. We spent the next few weeks moving boxes that were place in wrong rooms and locations. Many of our garage boxes were moved upstairs to a bedroom. While we were unpacking we realized that we were missing lots of belongings. We kept thinking the items would show up. Finally about a month after our move I called the office. I am not sure why I never received a phone call a phone call from them. I called and they said they did have our belongs. They forgot to unload the underbelly of the truck and they would deliver them to us. Again, I am not sure why they didn't call us as soon as they realized they didn't deliver all of our items. At this time I asked the general manager about the financial compensation he promised us on June 9th. He now had no recollection of the conversation. They sent someone out to assess the damage done to our home and belongings. We agreed on a settlement. My move coordinator told me a check was probably in the mail on August 18th. It is now October 10th and we have not received the settlement check. After I called the claims department in late August, they said they had no idea about our settlement. They contacted the Coppell office and then I was told I would receive a check the end of September. When the end of September came around I called the claims manager and emailed him with no response. Finally I called the the general manager at the Coppell office. He said he would personally contact me on the 8th and he didn't. I then received an email with no explanation for the delay stating that the check was cut on that morning. My two biggest complaints are lack of communication and follow through. I didn't receive communication along the way unless I called and initiated action. I highly regret doing business with Bekins.
