I apologize in advance for the length of this review, but not the content. I have frequented this salon many times and have finally decided I have to leave some feedback. The quality is inconsistent and mediocre at best, so I don't know why I have contined to give them so many chances. My gel pedicure appointment last weekend and it was the last straw. It was, by far, the worst nail service I have ever had. Even though I tried to ask questions of the tech and very politely asked that she give more attention to the areas around my toes (not callouses on my heels or balls of my feet), because every pedicure I have gotten included this attention to detail. She seemed annoyed and had to call Grace over to see if I was just being a pain or if my requests were justified. Next, came the hiddeous shade of nail polish that I am most certain now was expired. I thought the shade would improve with added coats, but it definitely didn't. She also claimed that she did the three coats of polish, despite the inconsistent appearance. It was already too awkward to try to ask Grace for help, so I just left and now have to pay again for the service to be corrected by another salon. I have been going Grace 3-4 times a year for 3 years for a manicure or pedicure because they are close to where I live and reasonably priced. Unfortunately the service and quality have gone downhill in the past year. I had a scheduled (not walk-in) pedicure the other day with a friend, and the young woman who worked on me rushed through it and was so rough, practically pushing my feet off the edge of the footrest and into the water. My whole pedicure took literally 20 minutes. It should have been 30 min at least. My toenails were not filed evenly and she spent virtually no time filing the calloused/dry area of my feet or cleaning around my toenail cuticles... She hurried through so fast. I was at the drying table for 10 minutes before my friend was done with her pedicure. This same young woman did my fingernails last time and same thing. It wasn't relaxing at all -- she was rough with my fingers, squeezing hard and twisting the joints. And I just felt rushed when again it was not busy and there was no one waiting. And except for the older man and woman who run the place and the young woman who did my nails, the other technicians are brand new. I am looking for a new place; I will not go back. read more

Don't EVER let the guy do ur nails!! Asked him 3 times to cut my nails SHORT, very dismissive. He just shook his hand at me like , yeah, yeah. He spent so much time filing them down instead of just cutting them. Dug his nail into the side of my thumb 2 x I finally said, "Ouch!" His response was a question, "Hurt?" I had patronized Grace's Nails many times in the past and had positive experiences with the service, though the manicures chipped easily, I enjoyed the paraffin treatments and shoulder rubs that came with the manicures . I went to the salon three weeks ago for a pedicure and I was pleasantly surprised when they offered me a shoulder massage as part of my service. The technician used a dry towel to massage my bare skin, and as I was relaxing I gradually started to feel an unpleasant burning sensation, but was afraid to make a scene, so I didn't speak up. When I got home I was shocked to see I had open sores on my skin from the friction. I went back to the salon to show the owner. She didn't seem to understand me, but offered me back the $20 tip I paid for this $75 service. These photos were taken a week apart and I'm gradually healing, but worried about scarring. I have been going to this salon for over a year. I was very impressed with the salon for quite a while with the nice little extra touches they offer like the wax paraffin for your hands and the massage while the gel cures on your nails. However the last few manicures have been disappointing. The time before last, I had to go back to have half my nails fixed at the gel chipped. I had not done anything out of the ordinary like operating heavy construction equipment so I was surprised they chipped so easily. And now today -- after had my nails done yesterday -- my nail has broken down DANGEROUSLY low. Again I had not done anything out of the ordinary. I called to see if they could fix it as I have a party this evening and they said they were too busy. I have determined my nail broke because lately they have NOT taken the time to properly soak off the old gel polish and have been filing my nails, hence making them WEAK. Sadly I will not be going back because of the inability to fix my 1 nail in time for an important party and the repeated rushed quality of the manicures despite the extra nice touches the salon adds to the experience they provide. Sketchy business tactics.. after coming here for about seven years, today during a pedicure, because I hadn't opted in to a $15-25 upcharge, I was told they no longer do any exfoliating scrub, no callus remover and no spa pedicure (didn't turn on the tub). .so after being a long time customer, and bring lied to by the new person doing my nails, saying "I must have never gotten a scrub because they never included it". I politely stated that they were wrong and even a cpl months ago, that was different. You don't sneak in extra charges of that much, and stop including basics..... No where I have been for a pedicure in 30 years does not include any exfoliation. It was my go to nail salon to a place I won't return to .. Our search for a new nail salon is over. I really like that they have a menu of pedicures, and they don't skip steps to accommodate waiting customers, the full service is provided and it is pretty great. The soaks, the masks, lotions and oils all are dispensed from single use packages, that gives me ease of mind about sanitation. They also use disposable liners. There is possibly an offset regarding the wastefulness of single use packets - they do not use those one-time-use plastic toe separators, they use old fashioned paper strips for that task. My 88 year old Mom and I both had the Pomegranate Green Tea Pedicure, it is well worth $50. I have seen reviews where people complained that Grace Nails takes too long to complete services, we LOVE being pampered and hate being rushed. The leg and foot massage felt very nice. The shoulder massage did too! I also had a manicure, no complaints, it was great and included a paraffin dip for only $15 total cost. Grace Nails has a large selection of colors to choose from, friendly staff and uses very good products, the shop is clean and we can't wait to return. read more

Honestly worst place I've been to in a long time. Came in with a friend and called ahead for 2 dip manicures. The moment we got here there was an issue because they thought we wanted gel manis instead. They kept muttering under their breaths and looked so stressed so I said I'd get a pedicure instead and just get my dip manicure at a later time. They seemed so relieved. Great. I sit in the pedicure chair and the woman starts asking me what pedi I want and I say regular. She proceeds to try to up-sale me to get a spa pedi but I continue to refuse. Finally the lady starts and I tell her my two big toe nails are hurting due to being ingrown. She tells me they don't take out ingrown nails here and when I continue to ask, she calls manager over who says I need to go to a foot doctor if that's what I want but that they don't do that here. Mind you My nails we're not even bad. Then they proceed and I notice she's about to start painting nails so I ask if they are going to scrub the bottoms of my feet and she tells me that I need to pay $15 extra for a spa pedicure for that. In the end, how is it that a $30 regular pedicure doesn't cover getting rid of a super regular in grown nail and basic foot scrub? This was the worse pedicure I've ever received due to the fact that it didn't cover any of the basics a regular pedicure should. I've been to many many many salons around the area and this was a first. You can mark my words this was my first and very last time here. Never again! Moved to Cambridge from LA and have been looking for an awesome nail salon. Found maybe 1 that I like in the Cambridge area since it's close to me, but other than that there is always parking issues or language barriers, or customer service isn't the greatest. Not until I ran into Grace Nail & Spa and met Didi ! First and for most, even though I had to pay for parking in the front, (I really don't like to pay for parking everywhere I go in the Boston area and its neighbor cities) parking was still available right in front and I like that a lot! Second, Customer service was great! Was greeted right away and everyone was kind. Didi was extra sweet and funny, we laughed here n there. Third, Didi did an amazing clean job with my gel manicure. the worst place ever. she cut my nails so short after i told her not to. filed them all lopsided and then screwed up the whole polish. i filed my own naisl myself because i was so upset that she kept wanting to cut my nails when i said no!!!! continued to get my nails done but she spilled water all over my pants and over loaded my toes with top coat which made the entire nail bed clumpy and unfinished looking. worst experience ever does not even deserve one star read more

Very happy with my experience here tonight. I noticed this new nail salon while driving by and must admit the 20% off grand opening offer is hard to resist. I went in for a pedicure and was impressed right when I walked through the door. This salon is spacious, bright, and seems very clean. The pedicure spa chairs are super comfortable. I met the owner Grace and she started my pedicure for me. She seemed very sweet and I loved that she remembered my name right away. Tony took over half way through the pedicure so Grace could tend to other matters. He is very skilled at giving foot and leg massages. The nail techs take their time and seem to be perfectionists. My toes looked great and I felt very relaxed by the end of my appointment. The salon is conveniently located in Arlington center with plenty of parking in the large lot out behind the block. I showed up on time for my mani/pedi appointment and spent maybe 2 minutes choosing nail polish. The person doing my nails stood at my elbow and asked me if I was ready several times within those two minutes. As soon as I sat down for the pedicure she showed me the pedicure menu and demanded that I choose one. I didn't understand what was included in a regular vs more expensive pedicure so I said "regular" to get her off my back and then took a few minutes to decide which one I really wanted. Once I had decided on the "spa" pedicure or whatever I had to choose between three different pre-packaged pedicure kits? Which I did not understand at all and the woman spoke very little English. The pedicure took over an hour and a half, and the woman kept knocking large items over into the water bath. She painted my toenails in the thinnest paint layers possible and informed me that my polish would be $3 more because it was formulated to last for 7 days (what nail polish isnt at this point?). After she was finished I noticed two long streaks on one of my nails and I had to ask her to fix it. I ended up canceling the manicure and leaving ASAP. Not a fun experience! read more

It took my technician over 2 hours to do a mani/pedi and during that she hurt me several times and unfortunately the result was not good. She hadn't been trained in how to use the Dremel tool to remove gel and kept hurting me with it; eventually another technician came over to show her how to do it. The gel manicure ended up having bubbles in it, and she effectively "glued" the underneath of my nails to my skin. To fix it she then damaged the end of the nails by filing over the gel, so there's no way the result is going to last for very long. I understand that she may be in training mode (they didn't tell me that but it seemed apparent), but I don't expect to spend nearly $80 for 2 hours, being hurt, and a poor result. They did offer to do it again but I didn't want to go into a third hour. read more

Terrible experience... had an appointment but they were so busy it didn't matter and I waited 30 minutes to start. Then the person doing my nails was the only person answering the phone and talking to walk-ins, so every time that happened, she would get up from doing my nails. That happened at least 8 times. While doing my nails, she also nicked me twice and made me bleed. My nails looked okay but if you look closely, there were also a lot of spots that were not fully covered in polish. So I've been 4 times just because I wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something that other reviews had talked about. 1. They are entirely wayyy to slow. The ladies take a long time to do nails and the overall quality is blah. 2. Other than that, the place is nice. The paraffin wax and massage for manicure def give the spa and added bonus. 3. Pedicures are consistent. I've gotten a basic three times and each time what it included seemed to be different. Sometimes I got paraffin on my heels 2x I did not. Sometimes they use a light pumice other times they say you have to pay extra. I wish the services were consistent. And lastly I've never had my toenail polish chip with the first week...EVER. It's happened twice here. Overall the massage and wax are a nice added touch but for me, don't make up for the long time spent and the below average painting jobs. Hopefully you are able to have the polish that last 2 weeks! I sure didn't (even with my gel manicures). The place around the corner does a MUCH better job painting if your willing to give up the neck massage and wax. read more

I went in for a gel manicure and eyebrow wax. I realized after two layers of the pale pink color that I choose more of a base color for a French manicure than a standalone color. (Color choice was 100% my fault). Once I realized my poor choice in color and told the nail tech, she had no problem switching gears and adding white to the ends to make it a French manicure. The French manicure is beautiful! I am pretty picky about the size and shape of the white tips in French manicures, but the nail tech did an amazing job checking to make sure they were to my liking. The paraffin treatment and shoulder massage really added to the manicure experience! The eyebrow wax was great! The tech was meticulous while waxing and trimming my eyebrows. Just came here for the first time, and I loved it! Very open and spacious place with plenty of colors to choose from. At first I was a little thrown off by the price- but I should mention- I got a fill with Gel polish which I never usually do so maybe $40 is good for that- but let me tell ya, it was so worth it!
