Best pedicure I've ever had in my life! Your toes will be shining and glowing for at least a month. The women here are so so kind, sweet, chatty , patient and I feel like the general clientele (only been here twice) are the same way too. Also I've never had a problem booking an appointment which is nice , the salon is small but they're def busy :) Definitely a hidden gem, but with the kindest women offering splendid pedicures, this is my new go-to spot in Medford! read more

Couldn't recommend more!! I've been getting my nails done consistently for years now and tried many salons. T & D was the best experience I've had at a salon! Lily did my nails- she was very detail-oriented and did awesome! I got the gel x extensions; they're great. read more

I never write reviews but I had to give this place some love. I came as a walk in and was greeted by the kindest woman, she is so talented and an absolute perfectionist and it shows in her work. She gave me the best French manicure I've ever gotten and I will definitely be coming back. Thank you for your hard work Tracy! I absolutely love my nails. 10/10! read more

great place for gel manicures! very friendly and helpful staff. they take their time and do a great job! i will definitely be back :)

The good: I have never had a gel manicure last as long without chipping as the ones I've gotten from this salon. Truly never. I've had manicures from here last almost a month without chipping. Eventually, I just needed to get them redone because my nails grew out. This is the place to go for durability, BUT they have a pretty limited color selection so it's a no go if you're on the hunt for juuuuust the right shade. The bad: Pedicures on the other hand? Less than 2 weeks until the polish just totally peeled off on its own. Not even chipped, I just took my shoes off after work one day and 6 of my toes had no polish on them at all anymore. Weird. The ugly: On my first visit, I handed the woman who did my manicure my card to charge the manicure on, and a $20 (cash only tip here like most salons) and asked for $15 back. She clearly didn't understand me but didn't ask for clarification. So she charged a part of the total to my card and used the cash to pay. When I tried to explain that wasn't what I wanted (because I was trying not to stiff her on the tip), she said she would cancel the previous charge, then ran my card again, then still didn't give me back the change I wanted. Low and behold, when I checked my credit card statement there were 2 charges from this salon, she never successfully canceled the first transaction. The nice thing about credit is you can just contest the charge and get your money back. It was a language barrier issue, but double charging your clients really is an egregious error. I'm not saying NOT to go here (I have been back), just be careful about having exact change or paying and tipping in totally separate transactions. read more

The nail techs were extremely diligent with my nails today! They took extra time making sure my cuticles were cleaned up and also gave me extra quick dry top coat which was super nice. They were thoughtful and did a great job! read more

Recently I self removed acrylics that is had on/filled since November. Today I had enough looking at my weak nails and scheduled an apt during my lunch hour. Phone review: answered the phobe quickly and was very kind and accommodating. When I arrived there were 2 ladies working. I was immediately seen for my pedicure. Pedicure was amazing! The lady working on me was very attentive and thorough. The other woman, the new owner, realized I was there on my lunch break and started on my nails. GREAT SERVICE! I knew they had enough time to complete both my toes and my nails but I can smudge toes 3 hours later. So I asked to come back after work to finish my toes. Got tons of compliments on the nails from my coworkers. I returned after work to more great service. They helped me pick my color, dried my toes and checked them and bagged me up to leave. Service is great all around. And my nails and toes are polished to perfection. I will def be coming back! read more

I followed my own advice and called and made an appointment only to be greeted by a closed store with a giant sign OPEN SUNDAY. I'm not sure what happened here but as a new mom with very little me time I can't take risks like this anymore! Thankfully Bellagio Nails down the street was open and took me right away. read more

I am very happy with my pedicure from Nail Essence. The nail technicians were super diligent with every step and my pedicure turned out amazing. Best pedicure I have had in awhile! Thank you so much! read more

Pissed. I can't believe I paid an extra $20 for gel and they came out this shitty. Shorty didn't even paint my entire nail. I got white nails and they already have a yellow tint to them. A total of $47 plus tip down the drain. I will definitely not be coming back here. Because I don't like to cause a scene I kindly paid the woman and left to immediately write this review. *Cash tips only* They accept credit cards and the receipt has a line for you to add the tip but will only accept cash tips. Not sure what the deal is with that. The only good thing about this place is the women are extremely kind as they're fucking up your nails . read more

T & D Nails Spa - What the fuck is this?!? - Nail Salons Near Me - Medford, Massachusetts

This place was AWFUL! My God...first, the nail tech was running about ten minutes behind...then she took a HOUR & a HALF to do a gel manicure. The place is so unsanitary in my opinion...nothing was clean. I noticed she used the same towel for me as the last woman. After all that, the gel wasn't dried enough so my nails had all ripples in them. I usually go someplace else & I will most definitely not be back here. Not to mention, there were two woman customers in there getting drunk off the wine & champaign they brought for themselves & were so loud ...apparently they are now "regulars" and felt the need to tell everyone how wonderful this place is. I left with a headache, bad nails & $30 poorer! Don't waste your time here! read more

Update: I went back another time since this review, and I appreciate that they take walk-ins and their prices, but twice now my toes have been cleaned a little "too" deeply, resulting in minor bleeding and a sore toe for days afterwards. All in all, I'd been there over 6 times, and this has only happened twice, but for me I will think twice about returning.... These ladies rock! I've been coming here for years and they're well priced ($23 for a pedi/$34 for both- much nicer price than the "co." At the landing) and have decent massage chairs. Not the most posh looking- but service is fantastic! read more

My mom and I just moved into the neighborhood and we were hoping to find a nail salon close to the house so she wouldn't have to tromp into town and I wouldn't have to waste a lunch hour getting pedicures. Nail Essence not only offers a wonderful pedicure (and they do nail art too) but they have an extremely friendly staff and the place was very peaceful on a late Friday morning. For mom and I, the feel of the place is important. We want to feel comfortable and we want friendly people, as well as a great pedicure. Side note, the best pedi I've had to date as well. Highly recommend this place! read more

This place is such a great find! My roommate, after reading Yelp reviews, found this gem (less than 2 blocks from our house no less) and neither of us has looked back. Clean, friendly, thorough and the pedicure lasts weeks without chipping. I also like how they don't rush you through the service-- and the massage stones! Prices are great too, very reasonable. It does get busy, and there's not much waiting space, so make an appointment if you can read more

Great little spot in Medford for treating yourself! They can almost always take you on if you just walk-in, but I would recommend making a reservation if there's more than 3 people in your party. The place is pretty small so if you want to have a large gathering this might not be the best place (there are 4 pedicure chairs and 4 separate manicure stations). They provide you with a long calf and foot massage (for pedicure), including hot stones and a thorough exfoliation. My girl was gentle with the tools and didn't hurt me at all! She paid just the right amount of attention to me when I wanted it and otherwise let me read my magazine in peace. I really enjoyed the rose-scented massage lotion they used! The place is clean and accommodating of all my bulky snow gear and they have always given me a nice pedicure. I do recommend being careful for the rest of the day with your nails, though. My first pedicure I curled my toes under me while sitting and put dents in the finish. Otherwise, this is a great little spot :) read more

Went to get a manicure by Karen (who I think owns the joint). As she begun working on my nails, I soon realized she was horribly sick. She had to stop painting my nails a few times to try and control her sneezing fits and at one point almost feel into a deep sleep waiting on my nails to dry. I was also expecting paraffin wax treatment, as I had in the past and it seems like they no longer do it. I wish I'd known she was sick prior to getting my nails done because I'd have gladly declined getting them done by her and waited for someone else. Suffice to say I'm now sick and am pissed she didn't have the common sense to stay home. For this reason, I will never come back. Word of advise to Karen - stay home the next time you are sick and avoid spreading your germs onto your clients. read more

Great pedicure! $25 for a 45 minute pedicure complete with massaging chair, very attentive service, hot stone massage on my legs, and a great looking pedicure. The salon itself is ok - pedicure chairs are clearly new but the rest of the place could use some TLC. Also, whatever the staff was eating really smelled up the whole place - my husband asked me if I had really been out getting a pedicure and not lunch without him since my clothes stank so bad. read more

Found this place while driving and I'm so happy I stopped. Karen is a sweetheart and I think her name was Tina? Anyways they were so great in both helping me be in and out. The quality of the work was fantastic. I got a refill (beautiful shape) just what I asked for and a pedicure which was also with hot stones!! Karen went above and beyond to exceed my expectations. Thank you so much for a great experience will definitely be back soon! read more

Love this place! No unneccessary glitz or glamour and no pretentious attitudes either! Down to earth local place where they greet you by name, never rush, fills/polish lasts well over two weeks (and I type on my laptop all day long!) Best to make an appointment - never leave disappointed! read more

I wish I took the other reviews seriously. This was a really bad pedicure experience. I decided to go here since I needed a walk in appointment and wasn't able to get one at Medford Nail Bar (a great place). I called ahead and showed up during what I had thought would be prime time. The place was entirely empty, with the exception of the owner, kicked back with his bare feet up, and an ~11 year old boy flung across a pedicure chair. It was also terribly hot and looked dirty. The pedicurist (nice enough, but not much English) came out from the back and filled up the foot well, which was not lined in plastic and did not look clean. I saw hairs on it. She left for a while, so long that the water turned cold and would have overfilled had I not called out. She was rough with filing and brushing. The hot stones were nice, but my skin felt pretty irritated when it was all done. The painting wasn't awful but wasn't precise, either. The owner left and did not return. I tried to pay for a while, but the manicurist was distracted playing with her hair in the mirror. I wont be returning here, but hope they figure out their issues. read more

This place is great. Karen - the owner is excellent, she takes her time but the end result is worth it. Make an appointment, as they do get busy, especially after 5pm. $25 regular pedicure takes about 45min and includes a hot stone massage. read more

This is probably the worst or close to the worst salon I've ever been to. Called to see if they had acrylic. Nope, but they can do dip. Sure I'll do dip, and needed to get them done quick to get back home to my family. I needed a gel pedicure as well, so I informed them over the phone that I'll need both to book the appointment....I start getting my toes done, she's taking my feet in and out of the water; it looks like she has no fricken idea what she's doing. I'm being patient...but then I tell the lady I have two ingrown nails I need you to remove, I'm 39 weeks pregnant and they're common in pregnancy. This lady continues to do nothing. She's pulling on my cuticle. And keeps doing the same thing. "How about now?"' She keeps asking. I wanted to ask her, Wtf are you even doing.m? Instead I told her I would just do it, so she could put the shellac on, she suddenly got a new tool and figured it out...........so I've been there 2 HOURS at this point...and their pedicure chairs are the cheapest most uncomfortable I've ever sat on.... Still waiting to start the dip. It's 5:20. I tell them...I need to be done by 6:20... she says....ohhhh yeah no, not enough time...can you come back tomorrow? NO, that's why I called you. Never will be back. read more

I got a gel manicure here more than a month ago and it still looks great! (Except that now my nails are breaking because I haven't cut them in a month which is my own fault of course!) Fantastic French gel manicure, looked perfect day one and long lasting to say the least!! Very reasonable prices, I will be back!! read more

Not a horrible job. Some polish on cuticles but 2 HOURS for a mani pedi and I was the only one in there!!! Would not return

Needed to get a quick pedicure. Upon arrival on a rainy Sunday it was a small place but comfortable. Non gel nail color selection is limited but are nice enough if you want to bring your own nail color which I did. Paid 25$. Hot stones were used at no extra charge and the girl was attentive of the temperature at all times. I left with a nice pedicure. Its been 2 weeks since the pedi was done any my pedicure color is still there with no chips read more

The salon is under new management since December and now it's terrible. Made my toes/fingers bleed multiple times, nail polish all over my cuticles, they never asked how the water temperature was, stones were too hot and left a mark on the top of my foot and they couldn't match my gel color to my toes. Thanks to Karen and Kim for years of great service but I'll never go here again. read more

I love this place! Been going for years, gel mani lasts longer than anywhere else! All pedi's include a hot stone massage , and they really take their time. I have tried a ton of places from Somerville to Wakefield and this place never disappoints with the finished product-every time!!Only 4 stars though because it is kind of dirty, I mean it is really not very clean . read more

Despite the nail technician being friendly, I would not recommend going to this salon. First, I noticed that the pedicure tubs were not lined with plastic. As I sat down for my pedicure I started to read several reviews on Yelp that stated individuals have left bleeding. After that, I couldn't really relax and enjoy my pedicure. Then, it happened to me! The technician cut the side of my foot with the foot file. She didn't notice. I asked for a bandaid and then asked that she not put my foot back in the tub. I don't think she understood and continued to put the water from the tub onto my foot! Again, the technician was nice enough, but I left cut and worried that I would get an infection instead of relaxed and pampered. read more

I've been here once before and absolutely LOVED my pedi.. I would say best pedi around! $23 and they use hot coals, now that's a steal!

I have to take away a star because I am ALWAYS kept waiting 20-30 minutes past my appointment time. There is a reason why I make an appointment! Services and prices are still the best in the area though. read more

Been here twice, first was a great experience, second not so much. My second time here for the spa pedicure and it was absolutely amazing! The service was incredible and I couldn't be happier with my toes!

Really bad experience at this nail salon, I will never go back. I went in with the intention of getting a pedicure and gel mani and left after the pedi was done so poorly. 1. The technician was nice but was going way too hard and aggressive with the cuticle clean up and it hurt. 2. The hot stones in theory would have been a good touch but they were way too hot to put on my legs right away and were nearly burning me, I had to ask her to stop using them. 3. Instead of putting my flip flop on before painting, she carefully put one flop on but while trying to put the other on she pressed her forearm across my other foot on my toes... and ruined 3 of the Nails and had to redo them. Didn't offer a discount or anything out of courtesy either... read more
