My daughter has had her nails done happy nails twice. The first time was just for a gel manicure with teal french tips and the second time was for a full set with two black French tips. The full set with French tips was flawless. The nails salon is very small and definitely smells pretty heavily of chemicals. If you're sensitive, you might want to go somewhere else, but the quality of the work is worth it if you can handle strong smells. read more

Saw they had very good reviews so I decided to go. The place was packed. The smell of nail polish was overwhelming. No venting and door was closed. I did open up the door but it was closed by staff after a few minutes. It's a very small space and all seats had a customer. I did have an appointment and was seen within five minutes. The woman who gave me a pedi was rushed. I understand this happens but it cost $38... One foot got massaged while the other got ignored. I'm not going to ask or say 'hey, how about my left foot?' It's honestly ok. They were extremely busy. I appreciated her efforts and tipped her over 25% like I always do for pedicures. I'm not going back due to poor venting and the need to be rushed through the appointment. read more

Nice nails! I desperately needed a pedicure and found this place close by so I walked in without making an appointment. The place was kind of busy for a Thursday afternoon but I was quickly seated at one of their nice massage chairs. Before I had sat down I picked a nice spring color. They had a huge selection of nail polish covering their wall so it was hard to choose from. I enjoyed watching people getting their nails done while I listened to some music and patiently waited for my turn. I really enjoyed the service and lovely relaxing foot massage and scrub! I was attended by two ladies and both were very professional and curtious. I was very surprised by the hot stone therapy! After my scrub down the nice lady brought over heated stones and massaged my foot and legs with them! Wow! It felt very nice! I was not expecting that, but maybe that's a thing now. I have been looking for a nail salon and decided to try out this place. The first time it was alright aside from the fact that the man who cashed me out short changed me. I walked outside and counted the money and realized before I even got to my car. I should note I always tip well- like $20 for pedicure services, $10 for manicure services on top of the charge. I turned back and went inside to get the correct change and he gave me an incredible attitude. He did not apologize or anything. Strike one. I brushed it off. Decided to give them another chance. Made an appointment and came in. They said be right with you. I waited an hour. What is the point of making an appointment if they can't even service you at the time you want? I may as well have just done a walk in-- because three women who walked in before me were serviced first! And yes, they said they were walk ins. Thankfully I was able to reschedule my plans that I had for that evening because I would have been incredibly late. The technician was fine but the nails chipped within a day. Moreover the place was disgusting and a health code violation waiting to happen. The floors were littered with nails, everything was coated in dust, the sink area was questionable. UNSANITARY!!! This is my third consecutive time getting dip nails by Emily, and she does it perfectly every time! I show her a design I want, and she knows how to execute it. The nails last for 3 weeks or even a month if I let it. I get so many compliments on my nails. Their family business is so sweet and it's clear they take pride in their work. The atmosphere is calming. I don't feel the need to wear headphones to relax because it is soothing there. When I arrive, they have their team working on my nails to get the process done efficiently. Throughout the hour, I saw people coming in all the time, so it seems like this place is being gate kept based on the low amount of reviews. I'm really surprised that this place is well reviewed. Firstly, they did no nail prep other than buffing, no cuticle oil at the end, no taking care of my hangnails or cuticles. I spoke up during my appointment (I got acrylics) and the lady doing my nails explained that my issues would be fixed but they weren't. In the end I said I was happy with it because I was really nervous and I'd never gotten acrylics, so that's on me. My nails look lumpy, the shaping isn't great, they stick up from my nail at a diagonal and the cuticle is thick. The polish is applied pretty well. The price was reasonable and I liked the color selection ok. The building didn't feel very clean, the nail file she used on my nails had dust from another persons nail. I don't know if this is standard, but it felt icky to me. Overall, not terrible but I would not recommend going here. read more

Great pedicure! Manicure was meh. The manicure looks sloppy when you examine it closely. My cuticles were done nicely and the nail beds look healthy and refreshed. The problem with the manicure was the application of the polish: the layers weren't done evenly and it's evident now that the polish has dried (the attached photos were taken right after my appointment). During the manicure, I was asked to sit aside when it was only half over so the tech could help another customer who walked in. The polish was applied in two separate sessions (before and after being asked to sit aside) and I think that contributed to the messy look of my nails. I paid $5 extra for the long-wear polish so I'm hoping it lasts. My pedicure experience was great and the final product looks professional with clean edges and vibrant polish! I'd likely return for a pedicure only. The leg massage was long and relaxing. The detailed nail prep before the polish contributed to the clean look. I'm very happy with the pedicure! Nail techs were nice and the salon seemed clean. Overall, I give them a 3.5/5 (mani: 3/5 & pedi: 4/5). Price wasn't bad -- $48 for my mani pedi (including the extra $5 polish). I came because I couldn't get an appointment at my regular salon, so I may come back to Happy Nails in the future. read more

Came here once and had an unpleasant experience. The place is dirty. It took them 30 minutes to take my dip off and it took three different people to do it.... She tried to tell me it always takes that long but obviously it doesn't I've been getting dip and dip removal for years. When it's done right and done by one person who is taking care of you it takes 15 to 20 minutes top! They clearly overbook themselves as they were bouncing around from me to another woman-and there was always people waiting by the door. I also think it is unprofessional to be answering the phone and taking appointments while she was doing my nails. Also laughing at me when I asked the man if he had a similar color to what I had on my nails when I came in ... you work at the salon you know the colors is that really a hard question? All said and done my nails looked fine I'm just used to much higher quality nail service and overall experience. read more

THIS PLACE IS MY FAVORITE! My boyfriend and I go for pedi's (and mani's) and they are not only the sweetest people but also the most professional. They always do such a wonderful job. I recently moved to Arlington from San Diego and finding new everything is always very stressful but Happy Nails has made me feel right at home from the start! Every time I go, they have a different price for me. I go every two weeks and have gone here three times. The most recent time, they told me to text them the design ahead of time and I did, thinking it would fix the problem. Incredibly enough, somehow they still found a way to overcharge me! My appointment was at 6:15 and I called to verify that that was enough time. When I asked about the $45 I was quoted over the text, I was told the same nail set would now cost me $55 including the design on the ring fingers. They started on my nails over half an hour after my appointment and I was getting tired so I said no design... the final price was suddenly $60, $5 higher than what they had quoted me less than an hour before and INCLUDING A DESIGN!!! Im always the only nonwhite person in there, so I can't confirm if they are treating me like crap because of my race or if all the white women in there are just oblivious to the fluctuating, inconsistent pricing, but of course the first is much more likely... I really want to like this place because of location but I really have to be honest about my experience and caution others. I'm undecided if I'll give them another chance at this point. 1st experience: the tech tried to cut corners with the design I wanted. Four of the nails had to be redone to look close to what the picture I brought in looked like and I had to have the other 6 nails fixed after I washed my hair two days later. 2nd experience: nails were noticeably rushed and didn't have the same shape. 3rd experience: uncharged for no reason with zero warning nor explanation, experience described above read more
