Elena is the ONLY person I will allow to touch my eyebrows since I first had them shaped for my wedding 8 years ago. She spends time learning what you're looking for, and carefully sculpts a precision shape without rushing. When she found out I was using retinol and that waxing could damage my skin, she instead shaped my brows - which were long overdue for a shaping - by tweezing each hair to get that same ideal shape she usually accomplishes by waxing. Elena is great! I've my eyebrows done a number of times in the Boston area and have not been satisfied but Elena really knows her stuff. She took the time to speak with me about my eyebrows and showed me how she was going to shape them before actually doing it which brought me some relief and gave me the confidence I needed to move forward. She did a beautiful job, shaping them so that they accentuated my face while not taking too much off. The morning after I had them done, I woke up, looked in the mirror and was like "Wow! My eyebrows look incredible." Elena is very welcoming and sophisticated. She really is an eyebrow artiste and the quality she provides is parallels the eyebrow experts in NYC. The other great thing about her is her website. She actually has before and after pictures of some of her clients so you can see first hand the caliber of her work. Her location is a bit obscure but can be accessed via public transportation. I made the mistake of getting off the bus at the wrong stop and had to walk an additional 40 minutes to her place, so a word of caution to you...if you take the 62/76 do not get off at the first Marret Road stop, which is Mass Ave not Waltham Road. This isn't your $12 wax-and-go. This is a half an hour devoted to your brows' rehabilitation. Your brows will thank you afterwards! Elena not only groomed my brows, but gave me advice on where to pluck, where not to, and how to trim without butchering. She also took the time to show me how to fill in my brows, and the end result was awesome. My ugly step-sister brow now had gone through reform school, and is on the way to rehabilitation. read more

I highly recommend Eyebrows by Elena, her results are nothing short of amazing. My right and left eyebrows grow very differently and one even has a scar in it from childhood that causes a gap. Elena does better eyebrow styling than any I've had in NY or LA!! That is *all* she does, so she knows what she's doing, there in her mod little studio. Elena was my first brow stylist, so I didn't realize what a gem she was until I moved to Washington. I STILL can't find a stylist that can shape my brows like she did. I guess I have pretty complicated hair growth, because no one can get the right and the left even, but SHE did. My brows always came out FLAWLESS from Elena. She is very very pricey, but like I said, I haven't found anyone else who can do what she does, so I guess she is correctly priced. If you have easy brow lines that don't take such talent/money to maintain, then maybe she isn't the person for you. But if you have complicated brows, or just don't know what would be best for your face, and are looking for a professional to help guide you, I highly recommend Elena. read more

Elena is an artist. She only does brows and spends a half hour on them. She evened out my asymmetrical brows and even though she plucked them, they look fuller and smoother, which is what I had hoped. First she draws with a white pencil the shape she intends your brows to be and shows you what she wants to do, for your approval. I learned how my brows should be shaped, which is not what I was ending up with when I used to have them waxed. When she was done she even showed me how to apply brow make-up should I wish to do so. Best Brow Beautician Outside of Boston! I'm writing this because I heavily relied on reviews to make the decision where I would ultimately get my eyebrows done. I had thought this was an eyebrow threading service at first (as that's what my entire search was based around to find Elena). Note: THIS IS A WAX / TWEEZE ONLY SERVICE I was slighting hesitant but after understanding the technique she uses, the precision taken to outline the shape, and the detail put into each hair I felt confident. She takes the time to make you understand and feel comfortable. Now my eyebrows look so much better and actually work with my face! I have been growing my eyebrows out after years of the wrong shape and will only go back to Elena to continue to make them perfect! Overall this place is definitely not for someone who isn't looking for a true professional service and is looking for a deal. Elena has been doing my brows for more than five years. I have never had this kind of longevity with anyone who's worked on my brows. When you find someone who knows how to shape and groom brows the way Elena does, well, you don't go anywhere else. Before coming to Eyebrows by Elena, I made the rounds at a number of salons going all the way back to my 20s, and I never had much sense that anyone really knew what they were doing. Painful waxes. Too much tweezering. No actual shaping. The result at other salons was that my brows would need grooming more frequently. With Elena, things couldn't have been more improved. First of all, she truly shapes brows by drawing an outline and then carefully waxes and I don't know how--but she achieves the most pain-reduced waxing I've experienced. Her tweezer work is precise and the overall result lasts for about four or five weeks. I consider a monthly appointment to be a high priority for my grooming regimen! read more

5 stars for the wonderful eyebrow work. 2 stars for the very expensive pricing. Loved my eyebrows but have never paid $50 to get them done. It was my mistake to not ask Elena her prices beforehand. I have always paid anywhere between $12 to $20 so I didn't think it would be SO EXPENSIVE. I am amazed by Elena's talent. I have been having my eyebrows waxed for years and am never truly happy. Eyebrow shaping is not waxing. First Elena does a consultation and asks you what you like and don't like, and what you wish you had. She then takes a white liner and draws what she believes will look great for your face so you can see exactly what shape they will be. She uses a tiny bit of wax if needed. I have lots of blond baby fuzz between eyes and she removed it. Everything else is done with tweezers, and she is a perfectionist. It takes time maybe 35-40 minutes total, but it is so worth it. I have one shorter eyebrow, and one has a weird scar and she made them look so perfect. I am thrilled. Yelp has her listed as very expensive, but I do not think she is at all. I usually pay $20 every 2 weeks to get waxed and be unhappy. Elena charges $50 and you only need to see her every 4-5 weeks, that is a serious bargain for what you are getting, trust me. I will ever go anywhere else again. read more
