Open only TWO MINTHS PER YEAR. They suddenly close with no notice ahead. I bought gift certificates for friends in August they had to wait A YEAR to redeem. Embarrassing. Also the help barely speakers English and says "meat" and "meat" for two very different expensive deli briskets in case. They have way to many outdated products on their shelves. A man who worked there literally bullied me for wearing a mask. He was so strange. Who bullies someone for anything? I was so confused. I was protecting him, and he was so angry I had a mask on. Well, tough. Also, everyone is so rude. When you check out, the women are so rude. No matter how nice I am, they just get ruder. Who trains these people. And- why only respond to the good reviews? You have far more bad ones. Why not try and fix the flaws? No matter how crowded it gets with people, maybe take the time to try and fix the things the people that left complain about. I never saw such a blatantly scammy business. This is your typical kosher supermarket. I had to stop here for 10 bags of ice for a party. The store is very cramped and isles are close and prices are high. The store does not look clean at all. the staff where friendly and helpful. $4 for a small bag of ice are you kidding me??????? Parking is horrendous and good luck finding a spot here. Ok let me get this out of the way first I HATE the parking situation with a passion meters and almost impossible in daylight hours to find a spot ok that being said this supermarket rocks the kosher need its always bustling there are counters featuring some great venders including Guss Pickles and Schwartz appetizing. There is also sushi The deli salads are delish the tuna is to die for lol ok I want to sound like I am from that hood but really a fresh bagels they have plenty of fresh breads including challahs The tuna is really good with no onions and just the right amount of celery their kugel choices are plentiful fruits and vegetables look beautiful but the price is higher then other places Moshe saw their apples and said apple like 15 times till I said "ok Moshe we get an apple" they also had little food samples out which always makes me happy in my opinion the meat department shines. I made my usual meatballs and spaghetti changed nothing but the chopped meat and the family was like oh these are GOOD meatlballs nothing different but the meat when you need good kosher meat go to Glatt its a regular supermarket so you will find everything else same as any other except for the prices lots of kosher cheese and the main thing we came for was Cholov yisroel milk if you dont know what it is give it a try it will taste the same as any other milk but there are certain people that must have /want this clearing on their dairy products. the dates on every thing here is good go get a nice salad, fresh bread and milk and enjoy Oh I want to mention their bakery we had a simcha ordered beautiful cakes and they were yummy read more

I went to the store today for the first time since the pandemic started and was APPALLED to see that the manager, 2/3rds of the staff and most of the customers were not wearing masks. I said something to the manager who retorted that he had a mask in his desk. He did not put it on. I felt incredibly unsafe in there and won't go back. We've shopped there weekly for years till this time, but they have lost my loyalty for good. read more

I do admit that this is an extremely well stocked store. After all of their expansion, the lines for the cashiers are still congested and difficult to maneuver around during peak shopping times. Why only 3 stars? I can't stand the check out experience. The cashiers and the grocery bag packers are extremely rude. I always greet them and they barely make eye contact. Even though most of them don't speak English, I'm sure they understand " hello". They roll their eyes, talk to each other in Spanish in front of us like we don't exist, and why do they put only 2 items in a bag? Most of us in this area visit this store more than once a week, and to be in a nasty environment is so upsetting. At least the men stocking the shelves say hello. This establishment should train their staff to be polite and friendly, like those that work in the other kosher supermarket in town. read more

I bought about $80 worth of chicken cutlet slices from here and when I got home to cook them as soon as I opened the packaging it reeked a rotten smell and was clearly not fresh. When I returned the chicken to the business, they (the Rabbi) told me I was wrong that the chicken was good, and they didn't even offer me a full refund or replacement. It was so embarrassing. I've lived in this neighborhood for 25 years and buy from gourmet glatt and never had such a horrible experience. So Gourmet Glatt is actually walking distance from my apartment... how did I go so many months without knowing it was there?? Used the bakery for my husband's birthday cake! So many yummy looking baked goods and the pricing was fair! The meats also looked really good... maybe next time I'll grab some to try. Of course my lazy self couldn't be bothered walking to the store (also didn't want to walk with the cake)... parking was a hot mess lol. And as someone else said, people of Cedarhurst love using their horn... so annoying. Anyway, can't wait to try their other goods! read more

The pros: Excellent selection of Glatt kosher products; products placed in logical fashion - no searching aisle after aisle for what you need; fruits and vegetables always fresh; convenient access to specialized products such as deli, bakery, fish and sushi; late store hours making shopping after work more convenient; parking available but you have to be both patient and thick-skinned. The cons: The customers are rude to one another. This is not GG's fault but it does take away from the shopping experience. Too often customers come to the store to shmooze and catch up, blocking aisles and keeping customers from entering or leaving Aisles; staff are not friendly, with exceptions. read more

I was in Gourmet Glatt Cedarhurst this morning and noticed that a number of employees did not have their noses covered with the mask. I complained to one of the managers last week about the person behind the Schwartz's counter and the same guy was there this week with the mask still under his nose. I tried complaining to the manager and all he said was they were trying their best. Trying your best would be that an employee would be fired if they did not wear a mask properly. This place is ugly on the outside and ugly on the inside but the quality of the foods make up for it. If you don't care about money and want good kosher food this is the place to go. The prices here are so expensive it makes Whole Foods look like a bargain. I can't figure out how they charge exorbitant prices for cut up ready to eat fruit ... it's like insane six dollars a pound for watermelon??? Their bakery is small but I like it a lot everything is consistently good especially with chocolate in it. if you see a chocolate almond horn grab one they're very good and surprisingly not a lot only 1.95 Parking is horrible over there and people love to beep their horn at anything that moves or doesn't move. They do beautiful fruit platters and will deliver it within a few hours. I had dinner at a family in 5 towns and sent fruit platter for desert. Both the family and myself were astonished how plentiful and fresh all the fruit tasted! This will be my new Go To place for sending baskets and fresh fruit! I love the selection, however, the employees are RUDE! They expect the customers to yield the right of way to them and they actually block your way or continue to have conversations in the middle of aisles while customers are attempting to pass by. The behavior is outrageous. read more

Gourmet Glatt's variety and selection is hard to beat. While many kosher supermarkets carry the Israeli kosher tic tacs, its hard to find strong mints (like altoids) in a kosher version. My last trip home I came here on a mission to find some, and had trouble choosing which ones to get!
