I will write the same review that I posted to Google Reviews...
Will NEVER go back!!! I showed up with my girlfriend, daughter, and girlfriend's mother this Saturday expecting a nice peaceful afternoon in the sunshine, but what we got was a horrible greeting by an overly aggressive dog (the dog in the pictures) that tried to attack our daughter. We are not newcomers to dog behavior, and this dog was without a doubt trying to get to my daughter to attack her (growling, teeth showing, hair on her back standing up). I had to slowly back my daughter back to the car while the dog continually paced back and forth trying to make her way around me and to my daughter. The owner of the establishment (bald head with a beard) watched the entire ordeal and after summoning the dog back to him after I yelled that I was going to kill his dog, praised the dog with a "good girl" and smiled at me with a smirk as we immediately loaded back into the car and left. Never received an apology, nor did he seem even the slightest bit bothered that his dog was trying to attack a 6 year old girl. I will avoid this establishment at all costs.
*Edit* I want to include this portion as a response to Gary's comment on my review so others can see:
Gary, I am appalled at your response to what happened. If you say that you didn't witness the ordeal, then how can you possibly tell me that I am wrong in my reading of your dog's behavior? I can assure you as an individual who has had dogs every year of my life, that I was not mistaken for who your dog was attempting to go after. My girlfriend also works with dogs on a daily basis and has for over a decade (so neither of us are unfamiliar with canine behavior), and her and her mother witnessed the ordeal as well. I am sure your dog is nice and doesn't attack or act aggressive on a regular basis, but I promise you, she was on Saturday afternoon. My daughter crying in terror and hiding behind me also should have also been a dead give away that your dog was being aggressive towards her. Let me break it down for you. We had been out spending the afternoon in the sun and stopping at local wineries. We brought the dogs along so we could take them out at various locations where allowed. We had never been to your establishment and didn't even know it existed until we got a text letting us know that your winery was only about 3 minutes down the road from where we were,, nor did we see any signs stating no animals were allowed until we noticed the small 3' or so tall sign that in about 3" letters on the bottom stated no outside animals allowed on our way out after all of this happened (the sign also happened to be facing the opposite direction from which we entered). We also never took our dog out of our vehicle, and our vehicle was about 60 feet away from your dog. So to tell me that I am wrong and that your dog just wanted to play with ours and had no interest in me or my daughter is incredibly disrespectful and also factually wrong. Your dog sat in one spot until my daughter and I were about 10 feet away and attempted to walk around her, at which point she stood up with her hair on her back raised up, bared her teeth, growled and charged at my daughter who I quickly pushed behind me. Dolce continued to attempt to go around me and get to my daughter, growling the whole time as I began backing towards the car trying to keep myself between dolce and my daughter, when we got close enough that I felt comfortable to let go of my daughters hand I let her run back to the car as I began yelling at dolce to go away and towards you that I would kill her (if she attacked obviously). You did call her back to you, and you did praise her with a "good girl" but you did not attempt to calm the situation, or apologize in anyway, which I agree didn't make sense to me and was part of why I was so outraged. The fact that you are attempting to make this sound as though it was our fault is shocking, and the comment about calling you and resolving this with common sense is condescending.
Bottom line, we showed up hoping to engage in business and enjoy a nice afternoon at your winery, but we were not able to because your dog tried to attack my daughter (whether you want to believe it, or whether it was a one time event or not), our dog NEVER got out of the car, your dog was never near or behind our car, and my daughter left terrified and crying asking "why did that doggy try to get me?"...yet instead of apologizing in any form, you instead try to paint the whole event as our fault in an attempt to save face. I can assure you, we will never be back, nor will anyone we know. read more
