We came in on a Wednesday afternoon around 1:00. We were all by ourselves. It was such a relaxing experience. The owner was there and helping us. She was so great, talked to her for a bit and heard about how they started. We got 2 wine tasting flights. What I loved was that we could mix and match red wine and white wines. I was able to try the wines I actually wanted. There were so many tables to sit at. Thankfully it was a partially cloudy/sunny day and the weather was perfect. The greenery was so scenic and beautiful with relaxing music. This place is beautiful! We bought a bottle and will be back! Highly recommend giving them a visit. read more

Saw a sign on the highway and decided to stop by to check it out. The winery is so cute! It was February so not too busy but I can't wait to go back in the summer. The owner was serving us and she is the sweetest. Gave us the history and showed us around. The wine was delicious! We did a red flight and a chocolate and wine pairing. Highly recommended the chocolate pairing of its available. I signed up to be a member and can't wait to go back to visit. read more

Here's what we learned about Columbia Ridge Winery's wine: It should be drank from a wine glass because the olfactory system has a great impact on how wine tastes. Wow. That would be helpful if I'd never been wine tasting before. Or, if I had never eaten or drank anything in my entire life. OR, if we had wine glasses. So yeah, that's the start to our tasting here. It's also the end. Nobody ever came by to talk about the wines, answer questions or inquire about our thoughts on what we were imbibing. Though we were given food menus, nobody came by to take an order. The water is self service, so unless you want to cleanse your palette by alternating sips between reds and whites, you're on your own. When we settled up, nobody asked how it was. What else...it was 50 degrees and raining outside. When asked if they could turn the fireplace on, we were informed that the gas had been turned off for the season. Many wineries comp the tasting fee with a bottle purchase. They simply credit you $10 on a two bottle purchase. It's almost like they don't want you to enjoy their wine. You may wonder, how did they get three stars? It's a pretty spot. The cats were a nice touch. The wine's not bad and from what I saw, priced appropriately. Overall though, there is much to improve here. read more

I came to Columbia Ridge Winery to see a jazz musician perform. I am honestly blown away by how stunningly beautiful the grounds are and by the extraordinary friendliness and professionalism of the staff (they called me by name for my entire visit). Staff also frequently checked in on me, brought me water (a full carafe), a cup full of ice for my San Pellegrino, and despite the warning that the kitchen was busy and the pizza would be later than they'd prefer, it was still brought to me very promptly. I'm not a wine drinker, but there are non-alcoholic beverages available. Food-wise, I ordered a Margherita pizza, and was impressed with the quality. Columbia Ridge also has a paved parking lot with ample capacity. I'm very much looking forward to my next visit. read more

Wow--what a find! Columbia Ridge Winery is an absolute gem. The surroundings are stunning, the tasting room is pristine, and the outdoor seating area is simply beautiful. Every wine we tried was exceptional--both the whites and the reds impressed us. The wood-fired pizza and hot sandwiches are incredible as well. My husband and I shared a pizza, a sandwich, a slice of Basque cheesecake, and an affogato--everything was amazing from start to finish. If you love reds, don't miss the Syrah--it's truly award-worthy. I highly recommend visiting Columbia Ridge Winery for great wine, delicious food, and a beautiful atmosphere. read more

This is hands down my favorite winery! Angela and Tom have created the most welcoming environment for hanging out. From the moment you come through the gates you will feel a sense of calm. It's a great place to drink the best wines with your friends and family. The tasting room is great to hang out in year round. On the warm summer days the doors will be open to the sunshine and the breeze. In the winter there are great seats by the fireplace inside. The team here are some of the best people you can surround yourself with. Julie and Angela are so kind and great to talk to. If you want to know about wine, the happenings of the day, or what Syrah (the winery cat) is up to they will gladly spend the time with you. Now about the wines... amazing! I can't say enough about them! Most wineries have one or two I like. Columbia Ridge has an amazing roster of great wines. The Pinot Noir is my favorite! I am looking forward to the upcoming new Malbec and the new blend. The flavors are smooth and they all land so well. Don't forget to try the food! From the caprese skewers to the awesome pizzas Tom makes, everything is delicious! All the foods pair so well will the wines. Went for the wine, stayed for the dessert menu and the entertainment of the auto mowers. (No joke!) The wine here is delicious. It's well crafted and full of flavor. But the atmosphere was the reason we stayed for as long as we did. It's a beautiful estate and if you're lucky, you'll spot the automatic lawn mowers out doing their thing. (Why are these so fun to watch?! It's basically a lawn Roomba.) The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and clearly hard working people. Although it was a little on the chilly side, we decided to sit outside and the staff brought blankets and checked on us multiple times. We are so lucky to have found this place! The staff is kind, personable, and accommodating. We usually bring our three small kids with us and they make sure our little family feels welcome and comfortable. The tasting room environment is warm, inviting and clean. We have been coming to Columbia Ridge Winery since their first official weekend in business. The ambiance is wonderful, the staff are lovely, and the wine delicious. Angela and Tom have done a great job of providing a beautiful space for one to relax and taste their great wines. My husband and I have always felt extremely welcome here and often bring our friends/family along to partake with us as often as possible. I appreciate that they also let you select what wines you are picking up ahead of time as part of their wine club, provide really reasonable shipping prices for out of town friends/family, and that they are super aware of people's allergies during their wine club pickup events so my husband has never had to worry about not being able to enjoy the food they have provided. read more

Columbia Ridge is the best. I would love for it to stay small and a secret. But, I also wish the best for Angela and the CR team. This is a small family run operation, but they have enlisted and expert wine maker. The wines available are not extensive, but they are really good for the operation size. Some of our favorite wines are the Grenache and Syrah. The vibe is great, they have out some much time and effort into the space. Beautiful vineyard set back into a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of the highway. We are new to Ridgefield and received a mailer offering 2 complimentary tastings and a charcuterie board. We chose the mixed white and red pairing. I'm not usually a red wine drinker but their red was earthy and well balanced - a pleasant surprise from a small family winery. The menu is short but well equipped to meet plenty of dietary needs. If you see the salted caramel chocolates on the menu -get them! There is plenty of seating indoors and on the patio and a small grassy area if you'd like to put down a blanket. We received such a warm welcome and great see that we will return soon. read more

Today, my husband and I visited the Columbia Ridge Winery for the very first time. It is located In the middle of 10 acres of vineyards right outside of Ridgefield, Washington. There are beautiful, comfortable outdoor seating areas that are cozy, well designed, with gorgeous hanging baskets throughout. In addition, there is a beautiful tasting room inside with wide open doors that allow the outside in. Other huge pluses were the outstanding service ( shout out to Heidi!), Remarkable wine (we enjoyed a bottle of the 2010 Syrah) and delicious food. Just look at this picture of the pizza we ordered and devoured and tell me your mouth isn't watering. It wasn't a 10/10...it was a 15/10. But wait, there's more! During the summer on Saturday afternoons from 2 to 4pm there is live music. The very talented and versatile Robby Mayer was playing today. This winery is so beautiful and has so much going for it that after just one visit it rose right up to one of our favorite local wineries. Beautiful scenery, delicious food, well-crafted wine, friendly owners, Tom & Angela who warmly greeted us and lovely music! Seriously, more what more could you want? read more

Really wanted to like this place but unfortunately were really put off by our experience. The grounds are beautiful and the woman pouring our wine was was friendly and accommodating. However, we came with our two young children and so opted to sit outside so they wouldn't be cooped up inside. Found a nice shady spot in their grassy area. They were running around near us in the grass. My parents were with us and playing with the kids in the grass and within minutes (we hadn't even been served our first tasting) a gentleman (I'm assuming who was a higher up/ manager/owner) approached us and went on this long winded spiel that made us feel less than welcome. Apparently they don't want children within a certain amount of feet of their vineyard because they don't want the vines to be compromised, but then followed up with they are completely kid friendly and welcome kids. He also followed up with they don't want kids climbing up on things and getting hurt and all that stuff. This would have been a completely acceptable conversation if my children were running through their vineyard and scaling their walls, but they were literally running back and forth in a straight line within 2 feet of where we were sitting within completely controlled supervision of us and my parents who were visiting. Not to mention, when we arrived, there was no mention of where we could/couldn't sit if we had kids, in fact the woman helping us encouraged us to go sit out on the lawn so the kids could run around. I think my 6 year old did a cartwheel, so maybe that's what set off the angst but they could have cared less about the vineyard that I should mention had a wire fence surrounding it. We of course were understanding, but it left us feeling completely stressed out and felt like we were under surveillance. My dad opted to take the kids to another grassy area, away from the vineyard so we didn't have to stress about them potentially getting within 10ft of the fenced vineyard, only to once again be approached by someone to say him and kids had to leave that grassy area because that area of lawn had just been manicured and then confronted my dad explaining that most wineries are not exactly kid friendly. My family and I have been frequenting wineries for the last 20 years and I would say 95% are completely kid friendly (and if they aren't, they clearly state it on their website or make their venue 21+). All I could focus on was getting out of there as fast as I could because I felt so unwelcome and that my family and my children were being watched like hawks. I don't think there was any ill intent here, I just think that they are so worried about liability and their grounds that they forgot to think about how awkward and singled out it made their guests feel. If you want to be extra sure people (and more specifically kids) don't go in the vineyards, put up signs (and definitely don't give them a stern talk if they have done no such offense). If you don't want kids running in the perfectly manicured lawn, then have your venue be 21+ because I didn't appreciate being proactively reprimanded when all my kids were doing were running in the grass. I'm not one of those people who expects every establishment to cater to or allow my children. I am very very aware of my children and my husband and I never leave them unattended or allow them to disturb property or other guests, but goodness, they are kids, so if there is open grass, they are gonna run in it and laugh and play, so if it's going to be that burdensome, just state that it's not a kid friendly place so that people don't feel like they have to stress about every movement their kid is making. I can't really give a fair evaluation of the wine because I guzzled it so that we could leave as quickly as possible. read more
