What a beautiful winery. Just a short drive from the I5, this winery has a lot to offer. We started in the tasting room where the owner loaded up a couple of flights for us. We took them outside to the beautiful patio overlooking the vineyard and the lake. There is also a floating patio for those that want to be even closer to the water. There is a lot of room for events here, so explore the grounds. The white wines weren't to our liking, but a couple of the reds were keepers. We did bring some bottles home, the Pinot Noir and the Barbera were both fantastic and will be great with dinner at home!

Beautiful grounds, great wine and food with amazing employees, thank you for making it a great experience. Just a side note if anyone is looking to take their little ones with them... Check on their policy we where told that kids have to stay inside the building.

This is the most beautiful winery in the area. The food is lovely, and they have a nice selection of wines. A great place to enjoy the sun!

Gorgeous property and vineyard. The wine is pretty spectacular too! Huge amount of outdoor space for comfortable social distancing and a lovely pond in the middle of the property. As for any reviews giving the place 1 star because they have limited kids area, that's really not fair to the owner/business. This is a winery and I'm thankful we don't have kids running around the property.

I visited this winery with a friend and had a very enjoyable time. The grounds are manicured so well. The customer service team was excellent and educated on the wines. The music playing and the ambiance was fantastic!

A beautiful place, feeling completely removed from the real world while being surprisingly close to the highway. Both the grounds and the indoor tasting room are what you'd imagine as idyllic winery locations. And, fortunately, the wines themselves live up to the location. This is a spot that I plan to seek out again. Our first visit, not terribly long after retiring, was an experience that my wife and I agreed was the kind of thing we had been vaguely imagining as something to be doing on a weekday afternoon, once the working life was behind us. We both kind of looked at each other and said - we've arrived. Just FYI, for anyone who is exploring this area, the Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens are not far to the north, and may help round out a very pleasant detour off the highway.

Beautiful day for some wine tasting

So a colleague at work, who I'd like to think of as my personal Alexa that always tells me the best local spots for anything, "twists my arm" to go wine tasting. Gorgeous week of sunshine and it seemed the time was right. I haven't been wine tasting in the region, so I trusted my "Alexa". A group of 6 of us met up at Bethany (groups of 10 or more need to make reservations). 4 of us got there first. Beautiful grounds. Beautiful location to host an event. They had Frank Sinatra Xmas tunes playing on speakers outside. Love it! Stepped into the tasting room and we received a hearty and friendly greeting. A tasting flight is $10. We're in. We slowly sipped our first round waiting for the rest of our party to arrive. The tasting included: Riesling Pinot Noir Nebbiolo Barbera Cabernet Petite Syrah I favored the Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo the most of this group. We decided some snacks were in order and ordered a cheese board and the ham & brie sliders. They set up a group of tables for us in their cellar area to sit and dine and brought the additional pours for our tastings to us. Perfect. We wanted to step outside and view the grounds and enjoy another glass and opted for a bottle of the Pinot Noir. They gave us some outside glasses. We stepped onto the floating patio and watched as the sun went down over the horizon. Great spot and I look forward to returning with guests.

If there's anything great to take away from Bethany Vineyard, it's the stunning landscape and view of the grounds. The property is fairly large and just hidden in a way that has you feeling you are far, deep into wine country and miles from any large metropolitan. I could see this venue being a wonderful one for a wedding or special private event. The staff were really friendly, warm and generous. They were very accommodating to our family which included 4 adults and 2 kids under age six. The indoor tasting room area is a little small, even though there is a back room constructed with stone which is pretty quaint. I would definitely return without the children since the garden and outdoor patio are off limits to anyone under 21 years old. The wine tasting we did was pretty good, I enjoyed some wines over others. We left with 2 bottles that were reasonable priced and the manager even gave us an extra glass of red to toast us goodbye! It was very generous and we definitely had a pleasant experience. I look forward to going back sometime in the warmer season especially.

Stunning location! Wine was fabulous! We were very disappointed with the interaction from the lady that took our food order. She was rude to one of us. At time of purchase she asked each of us for a tip... even though we had to come to her to have our order taken. We had to keep a eye on a table that was kinda far away which was where our food was placed. Since they didn't want to deliver that far away...what exactly would we be tipping for? When one of us who placed the order first asked if the food would be delivered... she said in a loud voice.... I will tell everyone what to expect once I've taken all your orders! It was so rude. I would love to bring my family and friends. I just had a bad taste in my mouth after being treated so poorly

We were in this area for a wedding and had a Saturday to explore before the wedding. We decided wine tasting would be fun! We found Bethany winery online and it looked like a cool place. No reservation was needed for a party under 10 people. When we showed up, we were greeted and they showed us to the tasting room. All of the wines we tried were amazing and really unique. The owner was talking to all of us about the backstory of the winery and the different wines we were tasting. The Riesling was my favorite as it was cool and dry. Perfect for a summer day. We walked around after the tasting and loved the area. It was gorgeous and very open. We ate lunch on the nice patio and tried some of their food. We got the cheese plates, paninis and hummus to all share. It was delicious and highly recommended with a bottle of wine. Service was great and overall had an awesome time!!

Bethany's tasting room is very modern and beautiful inside and then spacious and lush outside. The food is fantastic as well. We both liked a few of the wines each. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Once inside, staff was clearly glad to see us and even provided blankets when we first chose to go outside around the covered fire pit area. As this was a rather cold and damp day, we soon retreated inside and found a nice table near the front. We skipped the wine tasting and went for full glasses to go with our food choices. They have beer too, but in a place like this, what's the point? We mostly went for the Pinot Noir selections, which I found went very well with what we ordered. That included: The "famous" Baked Brie appetizer. Let's say that the "hype" is real. Hot Turkey Spinach Artichoke Sandwich - Rich and delicious. Erin and I went for that and we gladly shared. Reuben. Jim's choice and I also went there. Mega Burger - Gayle's yummy choice. We lingered, we had great conversations, and staff was always there when we needed them. On our way out, we loaded up on some cute wood Christmas tags which I'm sure will be a hit as gifts.

Gary, the owner, took us on a little tour to see the flex tanks, which were extremely impressive. He explained some of the science and technology behind it, and he is extraordinarily knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. We had some tastings and I was delightfully surprised at some of the sparkling wines, like sparkling Pinot noir, and sparkling Syrah. Definitely worth coming here to try those. Very unique. We ate dinner and I had a wonderful salad that was so big I could not even finish it. Had turkey on it and go cheese and I'll kinds of other yummy things. At the recommendation of Gary, my date and I had the baked brie. I'm not able to eat gluten right now, so he ate all the pastry parts, but the Brie had delicious apple chunks and it was just gooey and yummy. I know there are a lot of wineries in this area, but you will definitely want to come here. It's a beautiful location and we were fortunate to run up to the top of the roof, where there is seating, to see the sunset last night. It was magical. Get a tasting, and get the sparkling rose. You won't regret it!

My story about a True Woodsman and a lost cat named Bear…read more My cat had been missing for 9 days. I had posted adds on Several sites with his photo, walked the neighborhood several times, checked private property that was heavily wooded a few times, doing all the things I could think of to do. on the 9th day of searching I had taken my husband with me to show everywhere I look that I believe our cat had been. we drove through the neighborhoods, went back to the private heavily wooded property, driving slow, windows down, then I thought I heard a meow. I yelled, STOP! I got out of the car and started calling his name. the meows got louder, now my husband hears it too. we go running through the woods to follow his sound wondering why he isn't running to us. I surely thought he may have been in a trap or something. We soon see him about 40 feet up in a tree and he was so happy to see us. His meows got ever so loud, like Mom, I'm here get me down. the problem then arose that we had to go over a fence, down a hill, and across the creek, back up the hill to get to the tree. My husband did just that and arrived at the tree but could not get all the way up due to some missing branches. Bear, was too afraid to jump down, there were missing branches. I am positive a coyote scared him up that tree and who knows how long he was there. he had been missing for 9 days. after several attempts to get Bear down, I was loosing hope. I called the Fire Department but they could not help me. I was going to run home and see if a neighbor had a ladder and wouldn't mind crossing the creek with it. I take off out of the woods and ran into this outdoor shed/shop and saw a little boy. I said hello, hello as I was coming around the front of the out building. That is when I first saw Mark and his son Max. I was frantic, I asked if he could help me and explained my story. He told me, the Fire Department has nothing on me, your cat is coming down today, you can breathe! I said really and let out a huge sigh of relief. He and Max walked with me and I showed him where Bear was. He had seen my husband across the creek, saw Bear in the tree and I said should we get the ladder to get across the creek. He said, well, why don't we take the bridge and I was like, huh, there's a bridge. He then guided our way to the bridge and through the woods to get to the tree. Mark was taller than my husband so he tried to climb the tree but my cat got so scared and just climbed up further. Mark had an idea and went to get his drone to scare the cat down, however that did not work, the drone could not get close enough due to the branches being in the way so he just watched it. I was like oh no, what do we do. we were all standing around thinking and Mark said, this is happening. Your cat is coming down now. Mark got back up in the tree, climbed up, then the cat climbed up, all the way to the top of the tree. Mark then climbs all the way to the top of tree, grabs my cat and drops him. i am. not sure how tall the tree was so I will say at least 100 feet. Bear then lands on the ground and high tales it into the woods, scared so bad and I finally found him hiding in a storm drain. he was in the middle, knew right where it was which led me to believe he had been there before. My husband went to get food and treats to lure Bear out but he was too scared. Mark and his son Max saved the day yet again when they brought out the remote control tank. They simply put it in one end of the storm drain and ran through the other until I had my cat safely in my grasps! Bear is now home safe and sound. He was so skinny and smelled like moss for days. I thank GOD everyday, as he had a hand in this. we had been searching and searching and on this given day, at the exact right time I meet this stranger in the woods who saved my cats life, risking his own and climbing the at least 100 foot tall tree with no support, security. I am truly amazed that I ran into Mark that day, i had never seen anyone around before when I was searching in the woods, but there he was. Little did I know at the time that he is a Marine, a Woodsman, teaches outdoor survival skills. What a miracle! God could not have given me a better person to have found for this job in saving Bears life. We are truly grateful and feel very blessed. Everyday I think about it, I am Amazed! Mark was a real GOD send and a TRUE WOODSMAN! Also, I learned that he has a Wine Company which I will forever support. I love the craftsmanship, the whole idea of adventure behind it, his core values, and mission. Mark is an amazing person and so very happy to have met him. he has a lifelong customer and a very grateful new friend that owes him everything. With all that being said, I would like to add this. Thank you Mark, from the bottom of my heart! You truly are an Amazing person! Wait, one more thing, I found out Mark was also on season 7 of Alone, what? I really did run into a true Woodsman. I am on episode 3. Thank you Mark!

I mean when everyone in the area is beating themselves silly trying to breed these Pinot noir... This is different. And that's "different" in a ** very good** way Don is a retired technology executive who decided to pursue winemaking. Unlike many of his peers who have done so with disastrous results, everything there is eminently drinkable. And in the last couple of years, his wife, Pam has started producing extremely high-quality chocolates. My most recent trip involved a tasting flight described in their email newsletter (highly recommended). My partner and I headed out for a casual afternoon and wound up sitting under the gazebo on the patio, surrounded by wind chimes, and light breeze. Having ordered inside before seating ourselves, Don brought us a double flight, and shortly there after Pam brought us a sampler of the chocolates. I wasn't expecting table side service, and was quite glad to have had it. After dropping the chocolates, Pam stayed for a delightful and extended conversation, and wish we discussed the upcoming night time event for the Perseid meteor showers, and other stargazing events (Don has become quite the astrophotographer, and loves to share his knowledge and enthusiasm) The real purpose of the visit was the 2014 GRÜNER VELTLINER which is described as "a white for people that like to drink reds". In my book this is one of those "buy it if they have it" bottles, and I might've accumulated more than I planned. The other wines on this flight were also delightful, I was quite familiar with two of them -- the Dolcetto and the Sangiovese -- but was pleased to make the acquaintance of the others. Not on this flight, but very highly recommended: their Groovy Rose -- a very, nearly perfect light fun summer wine for sipping on the patio or at barbecues The chocolates were also very nice. I normally do not like caramel, but the handcrafted caramel in these was smooth and buttery, and delicious.
