I am in town for one night for an interview, and wanted some quick, cheap takeout to bring back to my hotel. But the food at Got Dumplings was a huge disappointment. Listen to other reviewers who complain that the dumplings are incredibly greasy and non-flavorful. As well, the ramen miso broth lacked flavor, had little add-ins (a scant amount of too thick seaweed, a table spoon of corn, half a hard boiled egg and 2 pieces of thin pork) and the ramen noodles were so gummy that they were practically inedible. Maybe if the price reflected the quality of the food, I'd be more gracious with my rating, but I dropped $20 and couldn't even finish my food it was so bad. Patrons of Charlottesville: have higher standards for your chinese/asian takeout. It should be so, so, so much better. read more

This was my go-to place to eat when I was in Charlottesville. The food comes out relatively quickly, and the dumplings and sides never really disappointed me. I also enjoyed the udon, however the broth was sometimes a little salty. The bubble tea isn't the greatest (compared to the bubble tea I've had outside of Charlottesville), but it still satisfied my cravings. It may not be the best Asian food I've ever had, but for its price, convenient location, and good food, it's a solid place to eat. Good, solid dumplings. Large Huge portions. Cheap. Lots of good stuff going for this place. Looking through the photos, it looks like the ramen would have been the right choice. I had pork dumplings, egg fried rice, and sesame flavored noodles. All were good. The dumplings had a heavy cooked onion flavor, which was a bit out of balance of the rest of the flavor profile. Love this place for a quick lunch between classes. I usually get shrimp or pork dumplings with kimchi and fried rice. They're kimchi, fried rice and noodles sides aren't amazing but they definitely satisfy my cravings. I usually don't love froyo but they're green tea froyo is actually addicting. My friends usually get similar things or the ramen or udon. They said the soups are pretty good but the ramen is a little salty at the bottom. I used to come here for my passion fruit bubble tea cravings when it was Berry Berry. Now the space is expanded and def more comfortable for a sit down meal. Best I've had in a while! My friend and I shared the spicy miso ramen and I think we both wished we got our own! Staff was friendly and the food was prepared pretty quickly. The ramen broth was seasoned so well. Not too salty and loved the spice level! It was perfect! Only criticism is that it had only 2 small pieces of pork but I've only gotten that amount at ramen shops too. I'd definitely stop by again on a rainy day if I was in town! read more

I come here all the time for their cheap food and bubble tea! An extension of their ultra popular food truck near the Amphitheater, this place is a lot better than the truck in terms of its portions. You can get a combo with five dumplings and one or two sides just like at the truck, but here, the portions are MASSIVE. It ends up being a really great deal. All the dumplings are delicious, the fried rice is pretty good too, and my go-to side of cold noodles with peanut sauce is a favorite. The store also has a lot of noodle soups and other dishes that I've heard are good too. I've only personally had the miso ramen soup, which was okay. The bowl looked cool but when I looked inside, I didn't get that much. If I paid that same amount towards a dumpling combo, I would have gotten significantly more food. The bubble tea is quite honestly okay compared with most places outside of Cville, but they fulfill a demand and that's all there is to it. Lots of flavors of bubble milk tea, flavored bubble tea, and smoothies. They use artificial flavoring so that might be a turn-off for some people, but for me, if it tastes good then it's fine. I usually stick with smoothies or the fraps because I just like them way better and they tend to be less watered down. All the drinks can come with lychee jelly, boba, green tea jelly, and other stuff at additional cost. Overall, solid place to go to for cheap food and bubble tea! read more

I don't get too funky with my dumpling, I'm simple, I like pork, veggies and fried! I single handed ate an order of 12 fried dumplings myself! The sauce had a nice balance of sesame and ginger and was topped off with scallions. The service was fast and polite. They also had bubble tea but I didn't try it, next time though! read more

New in town and I thought I'd try their ramen and dumplings. I got a Tonkatsu udon noodle bowl and pork dumplings. The soup wasn't bad - but received regular ramen noodles even though I upgraded to Udon. Disappointing to say the least - and I got take out. So I didn't have the chance to say anything. Dumplings looked good, kind of brown, but not bad. I think I would only buy the dumplings next time, because the Ramen wasn't really worth it. read more

All the sides, and especially the pork dumplings, are terrific. I'm not a big fan of the fried rice, but the peanut noodles are to die for. The Asian salad is also wonderful, and the kimchi is good as well. My friend loves the vegetarian dumplings; she has to wait longer but knows they are freshly fried. read more

Been here a couple of times now and the service and food have consistently been excellent. I always get the pork solo dumplings (5 pieces) for a good price ($4.50). It's hard for me to try the other kinds of dumplings because the pork is delicious. The dumplings are larger compared to the dumplings at Marco & Luca. The dumpling sauce wasn't too sweet or too salty as well. I was told that the dumplings are handmade and there is also a food truck on service as well. The lady working was really nice and actually brought the food to the table along with chopsticks. Overall, this is a good place for a snack or a quick lunch if you're feeling dumplings. read more

Perfect relatively inexpensive to-go comfort food on the corner, where everything's sandwich based. However, I have to say their bubble tea is disappointing--they use powder. A very simply decorated dumpling place. If there was a 3.5 star rating I'd give it that. The dumplings are fresh and hot. We opted for pork and beef with kimchi as the side. Two bowls of ramen were the main course. Everything was pretty good and authentic. The family even reminisced over our favorite Ramen places in Japan. The one thing that is really good here are the smoothies almost slushies. Not sure how they do them but they are a must! The staff was friendly and the shop a tad sterile in the ambiance department. I would guess a college hang out when you want korean-ish food. The cost is VERY high for a bowl of Ramen and dumplings. All in all not a bad place to grab take out or simply dine in. I didn't see the restrooms but wouldn't use them as I wasn't totally convinced of the cleanliness of the establishment. read more

The dumplings here are really delicious. They're made fresh to order so they're hot when they arrive at your table. I do wish they had more options for sides. It would be nice to have a green vegetable as a side, like steamed snow peas or broccoli. I thought the peanut sauce noodles were forgettable as was the fried rice. The dumplings here are the star. One of the two places in Charlottesville that serves bubble tea, and it's great! The store itself is beautiful; the crazy cool lights and décor sold me on the restaurant before we even ordered. I only bought a bubble tea (matcha flavored!) so I can't speak for the dumplings here, but I was amazed by the amount of care put into the bubble tea. Watching the woman make the drink was actually my favorite part, and the final product was delicious and reasonably priced! I often came here for their noodle soup with roasted duck. It really disgusted me today that they did not throw away nor clean duck ass carefully, and served me with smelly soup. The entire noodle soup was not edible because of the strong smell caused by the duck ass in the soup, so I could only threw the entire soup away. Sometimes the soup is severed with yellow, unfresh vegetables. They gave me a coupon a few days after I pointed out the yellow vegetable to the staff there, so I did not complain. However, when they brought me a smelly soup with a big duck ass floating on the top, I feel the need to write this review. I think the chef and owner of the restaurant should be careful about regulating the quality of their food. They raised the price but did not improve the quality. read more

PLEASE open a location in Richmond!!! Really really good dumplings! It's nice to have quality dumplings in different flavors. I got the sampler and every one is so delicious and fresh tasting. The shrimp one had big pieces in it which is a nice touch. The kimchi is also really good if you aren't used to kimchi or prefer it less spicy. I tried the royal milk black tea and it was average? It could be a little sweeter but it grew on me. The place got really crowded but it was well worth it. Look forward to it again!! read more

Happy with this addition to the Corner! Long hours, decent prices (go with a buddy and share a 20-dumpling party platter!), filling food. We got a mix of curry chicken and shrimp/chive. Both were good, wish they were just boiled or pan-fried instead of deep-fried, but I couldn't deny the tasty. What actually won me over was the taro milk tea - not cheap at 5 bucks but it is quite large and surprisingly good - not too sweet and really flavorful, almost floral with tender tapioca balls. I know that I LOVE eating at their food truck during the school week and I also know that I love bubble tea. However, today I waited so incredibly long (seriously, it felt ridiculous, nearly 20 minutes) for my bubble tea. I got a mango ice tea bubble tea and it was actually very good, but it just took forever for them to make it. This was my first time getting a non-milk tea bubble tea and it was very refreshing for this hot day! And a lot lighter than milk tea. I hope I can come back and be impressed by their other foods (and hopefully a shorter wait time too). read more

Oh man, what a huge disappointment on the bubble tea department. I spent $26 on 5 cups of bubble tea. I got the black tea, jasmine green tea and a strawberry slush. It's all wasted away now because it tasted so bad! I wish I didn't live so far away and be able to return it. The black tea has an extremely bitter after taste. Almost like medicine, it was horrible. The jasmine green tea was ok, I actually finished that one. The strawberry slush was overly sweet and almost unbearable to drink. If you're looking for great bubble tea, I wouldn't come here. Usually love this place for lunch, but just got served kimchi with broken pieces of small glass in it. Only discovered the glass by biting into the kimchi and feeling them grind in between my teeth. It makes me worry about the decision making in the kitchen and food safety. When I told the front shop lady about it with the pieces of glass in hand, she just gave me an "okay." I didn't receive assurance that this batch would be thrown out until I pressed her further. She said, "I told them in the back" which was also not definitive. I'm a bit sad because I have loved this place for dumplings and kimchi, but I've lost quite a bit of faith. They work hard (see them at the market) but this instance of cutting corners was a bitter experience. read more
