This place's got the best dumplings in the area. The peanut noodle's okay I mean the sauce is everything so it is what it is (I think the noodle is just boxed pasta noodle so ) I would definitely come back again for my dumplings

Got dumplings is a solid place to get food or boba. I would eat here again 3/5 for meets expectations. The food is good and the prices are very normal, maybe like 10-12 bucks for dumplings and sides. They have a variety of options, such as pork, curry chicken, tofu and shrimp dumplings all of which are good. I like their tofu dumplings a lot if you're meatless. Personally, I find their fried dumplings to be greasier and less crispy than Marco and Lucas and don't like their sauce as much, but the filling is still good. Their sides are okay, the fried rice is good but kinda sad if you're expecting any kind of frills to it. It is white rice with some sauce - they advertise "egg fried rice" but I never see egg in mine. The kimchi seaweed salad and edamame are all good and the peanut noodles are just okay. Marcos has better noodles. Their bubble tea options are great AND they have oat milk as a substitute for free!! You can also adjust the sweetness level - highly recommend bc their drinks are REALLY sweet. They taste average to me, I do like their mango drinks a lot and their Thai tea is solid. Overall average though. Inside is cute, there are a few tables to sit and eat and parking is hard here but there's a garage around the corner and some street parking if it's not too busy of a day. Service is fast. Not much else to say here. Overall 3/5 very average food and experience but average is not bad! Got dumplings is dependable and I'll be back.

5 Pork Dumplings with 1 Side (Fried rice)

While I love the dumplings here (4.5/5 stars), I have to give this place a 3/5 stars for the rest of the food. I usually order the pork dumplings, and it is nicely fried and I like the sauce that goes with it, especially because it isn't too sweet. However, the fried rice is pretty bad. Not that it is inedible or anything, but it has no flavor and there is basically nothing in it (it just looks like some soy sauce was put on it). It may as well be plain white rice. Another side I have gotten there is kimchi, which I have no complaints about, but it is hard to get that wrong. Also, I have ordered the ramen here, and it is sub-par as well. I would definitely only come back for the dumplings. The restaurant is pretty small, but I would consider it more of a pick-up place anyways. It does have some seating if you want to eat in there though. I like how they are usually very quick with getting your order ready. I would recommend this place if you are looking for good dumplings, but I can't recommend either the ramen or the side of fried rice.

This is a hidden gem! This is a fantastic place to get some really good dumplings, ramen, and boba. I ordered a 5 piece pork dumpling meal with a side of fried rice. Someone else with me ordered the Pork Ramen. Both meals were very filling and good! I also got Strawberry Green Tea boba, and the boba pearls had a wonderfully sweet taste to them. Overall, I would definitely come back here again for the boba and dumplings!

This place is so incredible. It is easy to get there, pop in and get what you need. The people running the place are very sweet and they explained a few things to us since we are new in town. The food was amazing. The seaweed salad was on point and some thing that I love so very much. The Thai noodles are served cold, but they had that perfect peanut flavor. We got the sampler dumplings and they were all Perfect. It is definitely a tiny place and if you can get a table, there are only two, it is cool to sit down and eat. However, if you go out to the quad and sit in the grass on a beautiful day and have some food, it is definitely a sight to see. We will definitely be returning here.

10 Dumplings with 1 Side-- Egg Fried Rice

The dumplings here are awesome. They are fried well and the content inside is flavorful. However, the other menu options outside of their fried dumplings are not very good. Including the sides that come with the dumplings. I usually order the pork dumplings with one side-- either the fried rice or cold peanut noodles depending on what I'm feeling that day-- just to cut down on the heaviness of the dumplings. The fried rice is dry and not cooked very well for fried rice. In my opinion, it at least needs something else in it like more eggs. The cold peanut noodles are plain and would at least benefit from some slices of cucumber. I believe that the location on the corner is better than the food truck at the UVA amphitheater. However, in my opinion the food truck is one of the best options for spending plus dollars if you are a first year student. Overall, I think that the portions are decent but the food is slightly overpriced for what they offer considering that you can get much more diverse and fulfilling meals in the area (not only dumplings) for roughly the same price. The fried dumplings are good but I would not come for anything else.

    Egg Fried Rice, I guess.

It's a quaint little place with a nice view of the hustle and bustle of the downtown/UVa Medical Center. The cashier/service provider is a bit of a challenge to understand as well, perhaps I am to her. But once I received my dumplings and got past the uncertainty of what exactly was inside all of them, they were very good. Even the ones that were a bit of a mystery. She was very short with explanations of the ingredients. Which led me to make the mistake of ordering fried rice. It didn't seem fried at all. Upon bringing this to their attention, they assured me that it was, in fact, fried rice with egg, and nothing else. If you're looking for a good dumpling, they got that. But for me, fried rice should be fried.

    Cookies and cream boba

I'm in Charlottesville for the weekend, looking for a good Chinese or dumpling spot. Lo and behold, I find Got Dumplings on Yelp. I got delivery and ordered the pork dumplings as well as their cookies and cream (oreo) boba. Big fan of the dumplings! I can see why many UVA students go here for their dumpling fix. There was an ample amount of filling, which was well seasoned and very tasty as well. The wrapper is thin, which creates a nice opportunity for you to taste the meat. The dough is high quality and there are even little crispy bits, too. I loved the dipping sauce they served this with. It was a bit sweet, but went very well with the dumplings. Reasonable price for the portion (although it's probably not enough for a meal to most). Their boba was okay, but nothing really special. I wanted to have a bit of creaminess to this drink, but it's wasn't that creamy. It wasn't very flavorful in general. The boba pearls tasted fine, and they do give you a large container (although there is also quite a bit of ice and it's pretty expensive). All in all, I'd probably pass on the boba. Definitely check this place out if you have a dumpling craving, though.

8 Tofu Dumplings, 5 Chicken Dumplings, Egg Fried Rice, Edamame
    Ally W.

Food was ready quicker than expected. When going to a dumpling place, you'd expect dumpling sauce to dip in, but they just have soy sauce. Chicken dumplings were a curried chicken filling. Tofu dumplings were smaller, but they give a few extras. Fried rice was just really rice with soy sauce on it, found 2 onions and a teeny bit of egg. Edamame was partially lukewarm and partially still frozen.

Cold sesame noodles, seaweed salad, 10 dumplings.

Very very nice lady (owner) and very helpful with the menu. - I had the chicken Pho ($16.50). I added the 2 included Hoisin sauce packets. It also came with a Sriracha sauce packet and a small container of chili oil along with the normal variety of noodles, sprouts, fresh herbs, green onions, white onions, jalapeño slices, and a lime wedge. The chicken was tender sliced white meat with no fat, gristle, or bones attached. The broth had a lot of flavor and was delicious. - I also had the shrimp and chive dumplings ($7.00). Not a strong shrimp flavor, but they had a nice crisp on the outside and were tasty. The sauce that comes with the dumplings is absolutely delicious. - My wife had the Bulgogi beef ($14.50). She said it was tender and very delicious. It came with rice, kimchi, and cucumber salad. I just happened to speak to Linh about the cucumber salad and she said this is how she's always made it for her kids and they love it. Well, I'm with her kids and love it too. She makes the vinaigrette herself and it has an unexpected sweetness to it instead of the usual strong vinegar flavor. We both loved it. - We had the pork gyoza ($7.00). This was cooked my favorite way, deep fried (not pan fried). This took me back to the gyoza in Japan and the Yaki Mandu I used to get in Korea. Great crispy wrapper with a tender flavorful filling. And again, the sauce that came with it is some of the best I've had. - The kimchi is not overly spicy and has a slight sweetness to it. - The Egg Tarts ($5.50) are good, not overly sweet. Could use a bit more filling for a better filling to pie crust ratio. - I also got a Chai tea bubble milk ($6.25) that was super delicious. Overall, we really enjoyed Nguyen's Kitchen and will go back with friends. It's unfortunate that it sits behind a Taco Bell and is not highly noticeable from the road, otherwise I might have tried it sooner.

The wonton soup tasted extremely salty and looked dark as if someone put soy sauce in it. This is the first time in my entire life where I tasted bad wonton soup. The won ton itself was great.
