In town for a party and was in need of a pedicure and fresh waxing. When I walked in it was evident that this place was in high demand. I kinda appreciated that there was a wait because there were literally ten other nail salons I could have chosen in a three mile radius. I settled into my seat, while making sure I didn't lose my place 'in line'. After about twenty five minutes it was my turn. My technician was very thorough and ensured that her service was up to my standard. My toes came out beautifully. My eyebrow waxing was performed in the same chair which was new to me. Once again the technician clearly took pride in her work. I enjoyed both services. Worth the wait AND reasonably priced.

I've tried this place twice as a walk-in. First time was a Friday night about an hour before close. The owner's grandson asked me for help with his math homework and I basically tutored him for free for about an hour and a half. My nails weren't done properly and I had to get them fixed somewhere else. I'm here this Thursday morning. I got here about 20 minutes after they opened. Just needed a basic acrylic fill-in. She started picking at them and removing entire overlays. She didn't ask about the length of anything. I let her know what shape I wanted twice. She never even did it. She basically rushed through me to start working on someone else. My nails have never looked this bad. They're so thick and not the right shape. Disgusted with this.

I went to get a pedicure. This was by far, the best pedicure EVER!!! She took her time, she rubbed and treated my feet like I was a queen in a palace.

LOVE this place! They have so many dang selections of everything! Seriously, Liz is phenomenal and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Very, very happy customer

I used Yelp to find the top rated nail shop near Sugarloaf Mills and was led to gossip nails. I waited for no time as a walk in and requested a pedicure, acrylic fill in and cut down. I am satisfied with the services I received. I would definitely return if I'm in the area or looking for nail services on a weekend where there is little to no traffic headed to Lawrenceville area. Gift certificates are available - that's always a plus!

Elan is located inside of a quiet shopping plaza in Duluth. Although there's parking for everyone, you may have to walk down a sidewalk or two to get to your preferred biz, but you'll make it. My first impression was 5-stars because it's truly a beautiful salon! Bright with natural lighting and fabulously decorated, it definitely passed the visual vibe checks. I was welcomed in by two young ladies at the front counter who quickly set me up at a pedicure station. There are three parts to the salon and I was in the middle section and it was so quiet, even with other customers in the area. I hate that I didn't get my nail tech's name, but she was so great. I went with the 3rd tier pedicure which including a hot towel, scrub, etc. etc. No corners were cut, I was so relaxed! I opted for a pretty bubblegumish pink for my toes and she really made my feet look fabulous and renewed. After my pedicure package, gel removal and tip, I walked out paying under $100 and in this economy and with the level of service and class, I took that as a deal. Such a fantastic experience, I'm so glad that I chose Elan and will think of them when I'm back in the area!

She is thorough, meticulous with her work and just an overall beautiful and kind woman. The salon is very clean, bright and relaxing and the services are comparable to other salons in the area and the prices are affordable ($50 for the basic gel pedicure with add in options ie rose petals and coconut milk in the water etc if desired for an upgrade). My pedicure always lasts 4-6 weeks and in really busy times it will even last 8 weeks. I highly recommend this place!

She quoted me $32 for pedicure and 48+ $15 for Ombre ~$64 for nails + $32 for pedi. I was okay with that price. At end of service, I was charged $10 to shape nail into (what I always get at regular salon as customer service courtesy) "almond" shape, $5 for applying tips (i was okay with this). However I was charged for an Ombre ($15) when in fact what i received was nail polish with glitter on tips not Ombre. It was cute but not Ombre! The h2o for pedicure was cold. I had to ask her to make it hot several times. My experience could have been an aberration but I left feeling like there was no more customer service in the experience. The ladies next to me paid $88 for a pedicure! They were up-charging every person and it was awfully uncomfortable to listen to people asking what if I only got gel? How much is that? Very uncomfortable. What if this or that??? Finally upon checking out, they give you option of 18% tip and up. There was no clear option to by-pass this. When I looked at receipt the charge was $220 (twice my bill)! I immediately said this was wrong. They said it was corrected. (I will need to monitor debit card over next few days to make sure the refund registered.) Will I ever return? Probably not and it is not because they did a poor job but rather it was the feeling that they were trying to up charge everyone for everything! And this was awfully uncomfortable for me.

The nail technicians seemed focused and resilient, adding an interesting contrast to the Bubbly Lounge-Esque music/vibe of the music and decorations. One of the techs hollered at me to "Habbasee!!" While my brain did not know this tongue, my body felt beckoned by this call from could only be the Wild. I traveled as if dancing to a forgotten rhythm or smelling a freshly baked cartoon pie to the back hallway of the Parlor, where I meandered past an impressive infant I saw filing nails to the cuticle with bone-chilling precision (keep up the good work, Lily...) Once I arrived to the back of the Parlor, I was faced with a fork (in the hallway, not a utensil) and a fork in the hallway (utensil). One room was the bathroom (which was very clean and smelled of palm) and the other was another story... A woman, fifty-three (53 if you round to the nearest multiple of 53 and 1 [one], therefore fifty-three [53] being the only answer to the woman's age as she was NOT one [1] year old) was spread eagle with an old woman and a lone wax strip. As the woman YELPED ;) (ba-dum-shh [facetious bongo]) I was taken aback and flinched, until I realized the services being performed on her were far from simple manicures. TOGETHER is an understatement for my participation in this lady's Brazilian. Might as well call it a South American! The only legal/safety concern that transcended my immersive experience here was the health risk of the frail old woman who was doing the single-strip-waxing, I thought to myself: "There must be some form of tomb-raiding experience/certification needed to confront the absolute amazon of vines and foliage that the lady being waxed was auto-chemo-respirating downstairs..." After completion, I was allowed to skip the wait thanks to my back-room assistance and was given a chair. I came with the intention asked for a duck nail, as my younger sister ,Lisa Curwaden, had just gotten festive green, red, yellow, and white duck nails (her pinky nail on her right hand was too small to paint due to an incident with her Shih Tzu, so she doesn't paint the regular sized nail on her left pinky either in order to keep her internal Chi balanced) and I found them quite humble and perfect for the upcoming Yom Kippur season. But right as the words "duck nail" left my licker, the lights completely turned off in the salon save for a few red LED strips taped to the back of Lily's bald head (she hadn't begun to grow hair yet due to her age) resembling luxurious native scarlet locks. The technicians each pulled out weapons that seemed to be central to their chosen workplace personas and began screaming "GEDDDAAAOOO" at me until my hearing aids that already needed battery replacements forced me to take a step outside for some fresh ATL air. I smoked three packs of Smarties and attempted to reenter the salon, only to find the lights still off and the door locked. Overall, a very swell and educational experience that I will cherish for the next few days. Thank you, South America.

It was empty besides two other people getting their nails done but I said sure. Two women walked in at 5pm and they told both of them they couldn't do them because they're closed. They closed in an hour and one lady just needed one nail fix. I thought that was a bit disappointing to say you're closed when you weren't. Lily did a great job on my feet and took her time. They're still holding up. However, the girl that did my manicure did a mediocre job at French gel tips. I told her I wanted short, square nails but longer than my nails. She didn't put any fake nail on me at all she just painted on my own nails. I don't know if she didn't paint over the entire nail or seal it properly but there were what appeared to be bubbles under the polish. It's been a week and the gel had chipped and broke off my nail. If I'm gonna lay $100 for my nails this polish needs to stay on a maximum of 2 weeks and they chipped three days later. It's clean inside and really nice. There's so many spaces to sit and get your nails done and so many spots for pedicure. They offer different tiers for the pedicure.

I immediately returned to the salon and explained the issue to the front desk assistant. He spoke with Kay (who was with another client) in their language instead of addressing me directly. Eventually, another employee told me that Kay said my nail beds were "too thin" to remove the product and that she would file it off "next time." Kay never explained this to me while performing the service, which would have been the professional thing to do. Instead, I paid $50 for a basic mani/pedi and was left with nails that were not properly done. I also want to note that while the pedicure I received from another employee was excellent, this is not the first time I've experienced rudeness or unprofessional behavior from Kay. I've noticed she treats other clients warmly, but not me. For that reason, I will not be returning to Castle Nails, nor will the people I referred. Clients deserve respect, professionalism, and transparency. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with Kay

I deceived to give them another try. Everything was great until it was time to pay. I chose a basic pedicure which is $35 on the price menu, I got French tip. Tell me why, as she's checking me out, my total is suddenly $50!!!!!! I told her I think she made a mistake and she said no. Do you know these people charged me to take off my nail polish and told me it was because I had gel nail polish when i told them atleast 5 different occasions it was regular polish. The lady who originally started on my toes told her the same thing, it was regular polish YET she still tried to insist I had gel polish. I had to get back to work so I told them I'd pay now and come back later since I work across the street. She did not care at all that I said that bc she started painting my toes. She asked if I wanted a hot towel, I told her no. She said it won't add time bc she will wrap the towel around my legs and do my toes at the same time, I said it's okay but she said it won't affect the time so I gave in and said yes. Do you know they charged me for all those services and not ONCE told me anything would be an additional fee. It took the customers in the nail salon to stand up for me instead of her staff. I told her not once did they say it would cost extra for French tip. Not once did they said it would cost extra to wrap a .3 second warm towel around my leg NOR did I come in with gel polish. She really tried to argue me down and I hate that. I was ready to call the police because excuse me? The only reason I didn't is because a customer said she would pay the difference and even then, the staff started trying to yell at her and tell her she couldn't pay for my nails. Very sweet of the customer but understand that wasn't the issue. They try to get over on people so bad. Why in the world would I need or want all those extra services done in my freaking lunch break. The very nice tip I was going to give completely went away. I will never come back to this place. I should've sewed them for the first encounter. Respectfully, fuck these people. And after all of that, look at my toes, NOT EVEN CUTE
