Elan is located inside of a quiet shopping plaza in Duluth. Although there's parking for everyone, you may have to walk down a sidewalk or two to get to your preferred biz, but you'll make it. My first impression was 5-stars because it's truly a beautiful salon! Bright with natural lighting and fabulously decorated, it definitely passed the visual vibe checks. I was welcomed in by two young ladies at the front counter who quickly set me up at a pedicure station. There are three parts to the salon and I was in the middle section and it was so quiet, even with other customers in the area. I hate that I didn't get my nail tech's name, but she was so great. I went with the 3rd tier pedicure which including a hot towel, scrub, etc. etc. No corners were cut, I was so relaxed! I opted for a pretty bubblegumish pink for my toes and she really made my feet look fabulous and renewed. After my pedicure package, gel removal and tip, I walked out paying under $100 and in this economy and with the level of service and class, I took that as a deal. Such a fantastic experience, I'm so glad that I chose Elan and will think of them when I'm back in the area!

I called a few days prior to schedule an appointment at 10:00am for a full set and pedi. I walk in at 9:58am and there's a line forming to talk to the front desk. Some were walk-ins and some were appointments. When it got to me, I told him I had an appointment for a full set and pedi at 10:00am and he directed me to the tablet to complete check-in. I found my name and appointment time but it still asked me to pick my services. I picked both things I needed. The two women in front of me were ushered to their spots. I waited to the side. A few minutes later, a nail tech in the middle of the floor in the waaaay back waived in my direction. I looked around before pointing to my chest and asking if she meant me. She nodded and waived for me to come over. She asked if I didn't remember her from last time, and I replied "It's my first time here.. Nobody really explained to me who I was going to work with. They only asked me to check in and I waited for further instructions." She apologized. Super kind, social, and funny nail tech. Love love love that she can hold a conversation down cause I can be a yapper. She for sure uplifted my mood after being confused. Halfway through my set, she asked what I had planned for the rest of the day. I told her "To get my toes done, too." She immediately spoke with someone and asked if I wanted to get em done at the same time. I told her I did and she reminded me that I had a lot of power in decided to do both at the same time. I appreciated it, but let her know that in general, as a new customer I felt lost because the front desk didn't help clarify who I'd be working with or confirm what I wanted done despite that I told them what I needed verbally and I selected the same things on the tablet. I could only assume that they did they separately because nobody really talked to me to specify. --- QUALITY & VIBE --- Both the set and pedi completed was amazing, the staff is really nice, and the space is clean, professional and spacious. However, as someone who has worked the front desk, I recommend that the front really communicates the process with their NEW customers because that: sets the first impression, clarity helps makes things efficient for the staff and client, and less confusion won't make the client feel uncomfortable from the start.

I never feel rushed, dismissed, or pressure. I'm just taken care of. Even though they're a bit farther away for me, I continue to travel to them because the quality of their work is unmatched. Their builder gel is unbelievable. My nails easily last over a month, and one time they lasted almost six weeks with zero breakage, which is something I have never experienced anywhere else. I honestly don't know if it's their product, their technique, or both, but the difference is night and day. At other salons, I usually have lifting or breakage within two weeks (sometimes even sooner). With Majestic, my nails stay strong, intact, and beautiful far beyond that. I highly, highly recommend Majestic Nail Salon to anyone looking for exceptional quality, longevity, and a team that truly cares about their clients.

I waited for about 10mins before I finally left. THEN as I'm TRYING to leave, this woman grabbed my arm trying to force me to stay, telling me someone would come start with me. It didn't matter how many times I told her it was okay, they're busy, I can come back another day, she still kept her hands on my arms squeezing them. I managed to leave. I deceived to give them another try. Everything was great until it was time to pay. I chose a basic pedicure which is $35 on the price menu, I got French tip. Tell me why, as she's checking me out, my total is suddenly $50!!!!!! I told her I think she made a mistake and she said no. Do you know these people charged me to take off my nail polish and told me it was because I had gel nail polish when i told them atleast 5 different occasions it was regular polish. The lady who originally started on my toes told her the same thing, it was regular polish YET she still tried to insist I had gel polish. I had to get back to work so I told them I'd pay now and come back later since I work across the street. She did not care at all that I said that bc she started painting my toes. She asked if I wanted a hot towel, I told her no. She said it won't add time bc she will wrap the towel around my legs and do my toes at the same time, I said it's okay but she said it won't affect the time so I gave in and said yes. Do you know they charged me for all those services and not ONCE told me anything would be an additional fee. It took the customers in the nail salon to stand up for me instead of her staff. I told her not once did they say it would cost extra for French tip. Not once did they said it would cost extra to wrap a .3 second warm towel around my leg NOR did I come in with gel polish. She really tried to argue me down and I hate that. I was ready to call the police because excuse me? The only reason I didn't is because a customer said she would pay the difference and even then, the staff started trying to yell at her and tell her she couldn't pay for my nails. Very sweet of the customer but understand that wasn't the issue. They try to get over on people so bad. Why in the world would I need or want all those extra services done in my freaking lunch break. The very nice tip I was going to give completely went away. I will never come back to this place. I should've sewed them for the first encounter. Respectfully, fuck these people. And after all of that, look at my toes, NOT EVEN CUTE
