We were sitting on the patio enjoying an afternoon coffee with our grandkids and it was approx 245 pm. A young man came and and asked our entire party to get up so he could remove all the cushions we were sitting on. The coffee shop didn't close for another 45 minutes at 3:30. The wooden benches and chairs where the cushions were removed were extremely hard and uncomfortable and it makes no sense. To make everybody get up so he could remove the cushions almost an hour before they close seems like idiotic policy. I'm speaking from experience since I own five restaurants and I would change this policy and wait to a few minutes before you close if people are still sitting and enjoying their coffee and the ambience. read more

Wonderful way to get your day revved up with a little joe. More open air than the Vail Village coffee location, so a slightly different crowd than the village people but always awesome and a nice change of scenery. Yummers, and even better when coupled with a Pendleton blanky. Awesome there is the option to purchase one to keep your lap warm while you sip coffee outside. read more

Needed an ice coffee and ran into the first place I found with an espresso machine. Great Illy coffee and prepared perfectly. It was Aspen so I was prepared to be robbed. Wrong! Sometimes the staff at this location is not friendly, though the other day as really sweet girl helped me and she seemed happy to be there. Cute little cafe store with Gorsuch items. Coffee they serve is illy, so nothing too special there. I find their coffees to be a little bland. The barista/manager is not the friendliest, but they'll get you what you need as long as you are specific about your add-ins for your coffee. They also sell clothes in the store including on clouds, Gorsuch, etc. tend to be higher priced items, but that's the norm for aspen. Not much social distancing inside, even though it's written on the floor - they don't really enforce distancing as much as some other the other stores in aspen - I'd recommend getting your drink and getting right out. There's a little outdoor seating area too, which is nice. read more

This review is for the ski shop: We came here to buy boots Saturday after someone recommended we meet with Gus. We were ignored by all the staff, after standing at the cashier desk for 5 min. I finally asked this guy Glenn for help but he was distracted with an older white woman who came in after, intruded in between and started complaining about the heating coil on her foot bed. Taken aback we just waited for him to readdress us, but Glenn couldn't be bothered with a young woman who wasn't white. There were 4 other people in the store, but not one said hello or asked us if they could help us after watching us wait for 15 min. Disgusting customer service in 2019. Luckily, four mountain sports across the street was open and the guys there were gracious and got us fitted for our new ski boots and helmets too. Skip this racist pretentious place and take your business elsewhere. read more

This place has a beautiful patio with fireplace in full view of the gondola and the ski runs. Great for ski lunches during COVID. The food menu is limited, but all was tasty--the soft pretzels had a great texture, the chicken empanada had a pastry shell and good green chili filling, and the chicken artichoke soup was especially delicious. I just returned home from a ski week in Aspen with my family, and this cafe was like our home away from home. Every morning we would grab coffee and hot chocolate and gather at one of the tables to plan our day. By the end of our stay, I would almost be sheepish about going in because we had spent so much time there. But you're probably more interested in the nuts and bolts of the operation than the warm fuzzies our family got from the place, so here goes . . . The place is stunning. It's clean and modern but with a nod to traditional European ski lodge design elements and furnishings. My two kids (who are seldom pleased with anything since they became teenagers) rate the hot chocolate a 10/10. The espresso is great, and I will tell you that I used to work in a coffee shop years ago when I was in grad school. I also once used a serious home machine until I opted for Nespresso out of convenience. In other words, I like my coffee. Even the Gorsuch to go cups and lids are superior to mass market coffee shops. Their pastries are good as well. Not the best I've ever had, but pretty tough to beat three hours from Denver. Later in the day, the cafe transforms a bit into more of a wine and charcuterie place (also a great idea). The shop component of the store can be found around the outside edges of its interior. Mostly accessories, goggles, shoes, insoles, gloves, hats, etc. In typical Gorsuch fashion, they're stocking almost exclusively high end merchandise. I was at this cafe a lot, and at different times, and the customer attention seemed to be just fine. Perhaps those criticizing the service were inquiring about ski boots from the cafe employees rather than the ski shop employees during the morning rush? Or perhaps I'm just an East Coast/Midwesterner who doesn't need everyone to constantly be sweet as saccharine to me. I'm still shaking my head over the one reviewer complaining that his kid got a splinter on the barn wood bathroom door (which looks great by the way!). read more

I could relate to the apathetic response the other person reviewing this got. My 4 year old son went to use the bathroom-- and the door is jagged barn wood-- he immediately got four splinters, one deep in his hand. When we complained that they should sand down the doors-- ours couldn't be the first kid to have this happen to-- to say they couldn't care less would be over-stating it. Don't people care about their businesses anymore? About the people they hire being representative of who they are? Very disappointing. And mediocre/expensive espresso was the topper. read more

Two days in a row my coffee was burnt and when I complained they didn't even offer to make me another. This used to be my favourite coffee in aspen, now I won't even go back there. read more
