Let me start by adding this is my very first review on Yelp and was impressed with this salon and decided to write one.... I was very satisfied with the service I received. I didn't have an appointment so I called and they let me come in... and the salon was very clean. I had the Shellac manicure done. The price was very reasonable. My manicurist's name is Susie. Very beautiful and professional. I'm very glad I found them. Will definitely be a returning customer.

So I came here because of the prices! It is a gem in San Antonio if you are looking for quality and fair prices. I had shellac mani & pedi for 70$! Susie did my mani and Raquel my pedi. Big sign on front door saying walk ins welcome. Walked in and was turned away because they had appointments coming at some point soon. I was the only customer in the store. I had never been turned away from a nail salon before. They didn't tell me a good time to come back or anything. Just said sorry they couldn't help me. read more

The lady was very distracted while doing my nails. She was taken away from the seat multiple times. The color that I picked out could not be found. My cuticles were not cut. My nails are not symmetrical and some are bumpy. read more

I have acrylic nails and I went to Susie for a little over a year for my manicures. She does a decent job and the price is reasonable. Susie is a nice person but her problem is that she does your nails the way she wants them done, not the way you request. I prefer rounded corners but she says those are for old people and always made mine square. After a while I gave up asking her to round them. She also doesn't want to use light color polishes in the winter or dark ones in the summer. Well, I like dark red and I like pale lavender and I like them both all year round, but Susie doesn't see it that way and it takes an argument to get what you want. The final straw was when I asked her to skip the polish because I knew I had things to do immediately after leaving there and I would mess it up. All I wanted was no color but she whined like a baby and pestered me so much that I gave up and let her do it. She uses four coats -- base, two color, and one top -- and it takes a long time to dry. Even after 12 minutes in the dryer, it wasn't dry and sure enough I ruined it before I got home. That was the day I decided to never return to Gorgeous Nails. There are other places very nearby that will give me what I want. A customer should not have to beg and plead with a manicurist to get the service she is paying for. As long as you let Susie do what she wants, you will be fine, but if you want something different you will have a problem. read more

I walked in and it took them 10 mins to ask what services I wanted. There was at least 4 ladies in there already. They are under staff and they do what they want. If you're asking for something specific, this isn't the place to go. They will do what they think is best for you. They also made my eyebrows uneven and too thin which was the opposite of what I wanted. The prices were okay but it definitely wasn't for the services. read more

Nice salon but the guy who did my pedicure can't neatly polish to save his life. There was polish on my skin and the polish on my toes looked runny. Also, they don't have a wide range of colors to pick from. Not everyone wants pink. Was not worth the price. read more

I have really been looking for someone who could leave my acrylic nails looking natural but have yet to find the right salon or the right manicurist.What felt like a never ending search for the right salon led me into Gorgeous Nail.I was very hesitant at first since most salons aren't exactly well known for their "customer service" skills and too often make you feel uncomfortable and more like an uisance then a guest.But my experience there was great! Susie my nailists, was not only nice and easy to talk too, but respectful and very well spoken.I can honestly say my lunch time was very well spent and the price made it even better!!! I was a little nervous walking in, because the salon was very outdated. To my pleasure, the nail technician did an excellent job on my pedicure! I cannot give 5 stars, because the massage chair didn't work and there weren't a lot of color choices. read more

My wife and I went in for mani/pedis. They did a very good job. They are a husband and wife team on a Saturdays. It is a very small salon, but great service and great price. They've been doing this for a long time, and it shows. If I were to give it any faults it would be that it is an older place, they only have two pedi chairs and the chairs look like they've seen some milage. Although I'm sure everything is very clean, with the age of everything, your mind makes you think that it might not be as clean as a brand new shop and chairs. Would we go back?...Absolutely! read more

I live just around the corner from this shop and thought I'd give it a try. Am so glad I did! I had a pedicure, it was quick and affordable. Susie was great, very friendly and welcoming. I had my 2 year daughter with me, she sat on my lap and read the books that we had brought along, and it wasn't a problem. Susie told me she's been there for 11 years, so it's good to know it's an established business. I will definitely be going back. read more

Before I came to Gorgeous Nails, I went to one other salon since moving to San Antonio over 2 years ago. I had to find a new place because there were so many things wrong with the other one. Then I found Suzy. Wonderful cannot begin to describe her!!! She takes such fantastic care of me! She helps me out if I'm unsure about colors, she is extremely gentle. She and everyone who works in her place of business is so kind yet professional. I simply cannot imagine anyone having an unkind thing to say about Suzy ever! With regards to the person who wrote the bad review, sounds like someone who tried to get something for nothing and wasn't happy with how that turned out. I get compliments on my nails all the time. LOVE IT! I have had my manicures and pedicures done here 2-3 times every month for 18 months and always been very satisfied. Gorgeous Nails is everything and more that a neighborhood salon and small family business should be--they are honest, and want their customers to be happy. It is very clean and consistently excellent service. I have always been treated by Ms. Susie and her staff with respect and a positive, professional attitude. I appreciate when I ask her for advice, she gives me her honest opinion and sincerely cares. I've been looking for a good salon here in SA near me that doesn't overcharge & I was a little nervous to try, but Susie was really good! First time I actually like my nails, she has great customer service & doesn't rush through her work, very natural & pretty look with her work, will definitely be coming back here! read more
