The GIANT "baby sized" Burrito Grande
Dan H.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. They are famous for having "baby sized" burritos literally and they do not disappoint. Haven't been here for over a decade but they have stayed true and their burritos remain truly the size of a newborn. Today I got the wet spicy chicken fajita burrito. As others have mentioned the burrito itself is not spicy, but their salsa bar is great and more than makes up for it. The red salsa is great. Horchata is also delicious. And last but not least, the staff is sooo nice. Like genuine and kind. The ambiance is super casual, order at the counter and then inside self seating at brightly colored picnic tables. They have a free private parking lot just off 85th which is super convenient. Definitely try this place.

I think this was a third of the shrimp burrito.

This is the Seattle place to go for a shrimp burrito. I get the dry shrimp (named prawn on menu) burrito and it lasts for 2-3 meals. Delicious. Last time I went for a pick up, they offered chips and salsa while I waited. Authentic Mexican vibes inside.

this place checks all my boxes! Satisfying mexican food with huge portion sizes and pre-inflation pricing :) The food also does feel a little bit healthier as it didnt feel super heavy or oily. this massive burrito came out in like five minutes too! I love the concept and their photo wall of newborns next to burritos :) The inside is colorful and casual. It has a salsa bar and self-serve water. It also seems like a well-established restaurant with a lot of regulars. I totally get it because I would be one too if I lived nearby!

Two really large steak baby burrito. One wet one dry

I haven't heard the name Gordito's in years but I remember wanting to try this place when they first opened. I needed to meet my friend for donation and gifts exchange so we decided to grab lunch here. I love that this place allowed us to bring our dogs. It was pretty quiet inside but so nice since it' was raining outside. I'm not sure what possessed me to order a baby burrito but I ordered one knowing damn well I wasn't going to finish it and I'm weird about taking left over home. My friend and I order both steak but hers was dry and mine was wet. I was under estimating how big this thing was. Lord when that thing came out. I literally had to sit there and stare it how massive it was. Could certainly feed a family of 5. I manage to take like 5 bites before calling it quits and taking the rest home. Burrito had a lot of filling and I did notice a lot of rice. While good, sort of on the bland side for the filling. Cant really complain though for the price and the size of that thing. The staff is also so sweet. I think that was my favorite part of the day was how much my friend was raving about the staff and their kindness. Loved that there was parking though I would still be careful at the entrance since there was a huge dip, I'm sure I scrapped the whole bottom of my car. Maybe I'll be back to try something not so massive. I still have the rest of the burrito in my fridge and honestly dont know if I'm going to eat it again haha.

Are you and your friend both hungry, AND ready to be comically overwhelmed? Gorditos is the place for you! For just $30, you and a brave dining companion can share a burrito roughly the size of a small baby--no kidding, they actually have baby burrito size comparison photos on their walls. Not only does this guarantee a legendary food coma, but you'll likely have leftovers. Plus, their salsa bar is top-notch and the wait staff is pretty awesome too. Let the burrito battles begin!

Tofu fajita burrito and a couple salsas.

Gorditos is a legendary Greenwood/ Phinney staple... this was my first visit since their dining room was closed during covid. I ordered the tofu fajita burrito.... tasty and certainly large, as is Gordito's way. It was also incredibly messy and difficult to eat, probably better suited to eating with a plate and fork than by holding it, even when wrapped in foil. The staff is friendly, and I love the little salsa bar.

I have come to Gorditos for various occasions over the past 15 to 20 years. My most recent visit was Sunday 5 February 2023 for brunch to-go. Because I had typically gotten chicken or tofu proteins in a fajita plate, I decided to switch it up and go with a dry pork burrito and the flan. I arrived a few minutes before opening (10:30 a.m.) and found parking to be abundant in the small parking lot to the side of the restaurant with parking marked off for Gorditos customers. Ordering was straightforward and the workers were friendly. Benches were available to sit and wait while they prepared the food. Salsas were available with portions already divvied into containers, a reminder that COVID-19 is still around. Both food items were very tasty. The tortilla for the burrito was thin, making the bites even at the burrito corners not too much tortilla. The fillings melded well together and I was impressed with the size of pork chunks. For the flan, the custard was creamy and the spices on-point. All around enjoyable dining experience.

Chicken Burrito with avocado

Large portions | Dietary Options | Food 7/10 A local favorite in the heart of Greenwood, I finally tried it after passing it for so long and hearing good things. The portions are huge. I got a chicken burrito, it was massive and they have a bigger one available somehow! Overall nothing special, my bar for Mexican is pretty high and this was on the same level as Chipotle to me. I think the best thing is the variety of options as far as making your food vegetarian or vegan or working around any other dietary needs which isn't always available and I appreciate that. Definitely great deal for the amount of food, one burrito could easily feed two people. Friendly staff.

Wet Burrito with grilled chicken

Soooo much food!! This place is good!! Cool cafeteria style atmosphere, order at the counter and pick a table. The portions are huge and full of flavor! I like for the wet burrito with grilled chicken and some plain nachos. It was all very good and leftovers were had lol. They have a vast salsa bar and quite a recycling program going on. Highly recommend but come hungry or share a plate!!

Burrito

These burritos are large, yummy, and affordable, packed with meat, beans, rice, sour cream, and other goodies. The shop itself is super cute and the staff friendly. There's a salsa bar that offers pickles and salsas of different heats. In the back, there's a retro arcade game and colorful tables. In a city so far away from the Southern border, Gorditos is doing it right.

Food also comes out quick once you get seated which helps cut the overall time down. The place overall is great, I try to reserve 5 stars but this is pretty damn close. I waited about 30 mins which was not bad at all considered the day it was. The was kind, friendly and so sweet! I wish I would have gotten her name. Now onto the food, starting off with the latte. It was your typical average latte. I did like how strong it was and it came with a kitty paw! (Barista said he was inspired by his cats that morning lol). I tried both sweet and savory dutch babies, and even though I'm a savory person, I liked the sweet one better. It was creamy and bread was soft! The fruits added the perfect texture and sweetness to it. The savory was okay, keep in mind this is also my first time trying a dutch baby, but I would have liked it to have more veggies maybe? I think I was expecting more of it but it was mid to me. The breakfast plate wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Just your basic breakfast plate. The place is super cute and a bit small! It was a sunny morning so we had a lot of light coming through which I loved!

The amount of food was insane even our server said it was a lot of food! The first course alone could have been a meal. Pita bread with six different spreads just look at the picture! I expected maybe three or four. They explained everything, and I retained almost none of it. All I know is that everything tasted really good! This also came with a very generous portion of Greek salad. That was just round one. Next came the salmon and chicken kebabs, with generous chunks of protein served sizzling. They poured liquid over them at the table to make them sizzle even more, which was a neat touch. Both were very good, and the caramelized onions were great. The spreads from the first course also made excellent toppers for the salmon and chicken. By the third course, we were already getting full, but out came the leg of lamb. I had pictured us having to tackle something bone-in, so I appreciated that it arrived nicely sliced. Tender, cooked perfectly, and very little fat. It came with generous portions of small, partly mashed potatoes and some really good greens. I'm not entirely sure what the greens were, but we enjoyed them! For the fourth course, we chose a blackberry ginger sorbet that wasn't listed on the menu. I also ordered a Prosecco to enjoy with dinner. We ended up taking home three boxes because there was simply no way we could finish everything. Such an amazing Seattle Restaurant Week deal! Service was fantastic, and the pacing was nice. My friend and I stayed a little afterward to chat, and we never felt rushed, even though the restaurant was very busy. Great ambiance and a really enjoyable evening. I'll definitely be back to try their brunch!

Unfortunately, on arriving, there was a mix-up and we had to wait 20-25 mins to get our table. We were a large party (10 people) but still, it was quite a long wait. The manager offered us some free wine and apologized for making us wait. We did enjoy the rest of the night with the huge ensemble of meals and drinks Lola had to offer. Our servers were also extremely nice and polite and quite accommodating to our big dinner party. I really liked the ambience of the restaurant: dimly lit, elegant and cozy with an open kitchen towards the back side. Ordered a lot of different items amongst all of us: Mushroom Skewers (was quite tasty) Saganaki (not a big fan of this.. I didn't like the sweet and cheese together) grilled octopus (I am not a big fan of octopus, but tried what my colleague ordered, and I quite liked it) Doughnuts with mascarpone and Jam (star of the night) Coconut cream pie (also amazing) There was another dessert, I don't recall the name of it but it was peach with chocolate mascarpone (didn't like this one as much as the other two) Overall, had a great time at Lola despite the wait time hiccup, the service, food, ambience were top-notch!

They had an amazing selection of pastries, though I didn't try any. I also got the Urban Pesto, which was SO yum. I was little skeptical of the focaccia - sometimes I find it to be too puffy, and thus hard to eat the sandwich - but this had a lovely panini press on it that made it easy to eat. The in-house herby cheese in the sandwich made each bite just that much more delicious. The staff was also super nice and accommodating to my parents' requests and questions. It was quite busy which we anticipated, so I would highly recommend making a reservation. We were seated right away with our reservation time, but it did take some time to be served. I enjoyed the hot coffee with a bit of cream. It was good; my only comment is that I wasn't offered a refill at any point, and we were there for over an hour. To be fair, it was SUPER busy; like at least 100 people in the dining room. I had one of their seasonal specials, the peaches and cream Swedish pancakes. It was a generous portion included with a trip to the berry bar. The berry bar was very fresh and well maintained as far as cleanliness. It was also in a prime location, near the tables but not too close and not in the way of the walking path. The peaches were juicy and sweet and the cream cheese frosting was a decadent topping. I added some berries which made it extra special. I liked the caramel shards, but they were a little on the thick side for my liking and were a bit tough to eat. However, I really enjoyed the dish overall! I also got a side of peppered bacon which was well-cooked, crispy, and extra peppery. My friend got the classic French toast and a side of potatoes. She loved the French toast with the included berry bar trip! However, the potatoes were cut into HUGE pieces which were difficult to eat even though they were cooked through.
