I had birria tacos and it was THEE BEST BIRRIA tacos I've ever had! The only issue was the language barrier, which botched the service from the waitress. Most things we asked for she just said "No" and when we asked for cokes all around, she brought us diet cokes. Regardless, I will go back here. I will not fault people for language barriers, but in fact become a regular and work through the barrier. I have been going to this restaurant for many many years. I no longer live in Illinois, but every time I am on my way back to Midway Airport, I stop here. I always bring 4 Gorditas home. Only three of them actually make it. I stopped in here last night and it's just as good as it ever was. This is actually the one thing I look forward to every six months. When I picked them up yesterday, I was telling the young man that I was bringing them on the plane. And he said why didn't I tell him that, he would've wrapped them updifferent differently. I thought that was so sweet. To me it doesn't matter how they wrap them up, I eat one before the plane leaves, and the other three make it home and they are fine. I just thought it was super nice that he would've went out of his way had he known I was bringing them on a plane. I usually bring them to work the next day and eat them in front of everyone and make them jealous. I don't know how anyone can complain about this place. When I order on the phone, they always put somebody who speaks English on the line so I don't think that's a problem either. Prices on the menu don't match the receipt. They don't give you a bill, but say pay at the counter with your number. Ok that's typical for a taqueria. My family used to drive here from the suburbs when I was little for the gorditas but haven't been back in a while. I tend to eat smaller portions and now they have mini versions of gorditas and burritos. Perfect so you can try two or eat one and take one home. I got the mini gorditas de carnitas en salsa Verde and one of Chile de arbol. The first is a spicy, salty, perfection of marinated pork and the second is a smoky red sauce with the same tender pork. I love the place! They have picked carrots, jicama and jalapenos to nibble on while you wait. I love all the flavors. Could be remodeled inside but it's just a normal water with tables and all around and numbers on each one. You go to the front to pay and tell them your table number. They charge if you pay with card so bring cash. I was served by several different waitresses so not sure if they split tips or if they just help each other out. Family friendly but I've heard it gets a little loud on weekend nights from people leaving bars. It's a staple in the Cicero community you have to visit. read more

The best gorditas ever! My favorites were, the cuca, stake, barbacoa and the home made tortilla tacos. We were not expecting much but we were surprised that the gorditas were very delicious. I did not like the gordiata of chicharron in red sause. The chicharron was a bit too big. We also, had horchata and the licuado of Chocolate. The licuado was basically chocolate milk. I had the understanding that a licuado is more as a shake or smoothie but this licuado here was very liquidity. The horchata was very freshly good. Definitely recommend this place! read more
