The first time I used Gopher Wars, all went well. However, I paid up front (at their request) for more visits then I ended up needing. I was told I would have credit with the company if I needed them again. I need them now. Over the past few weeks, I have tried contacting them through the website, by leaving a voice mail, sending a text, and finally sending an email. I have had no response whatsoever. I feel like I have been robbed, inasmuch as I have paid for service I have not recieved. I will now have to hire someone else. read more

Started good but then Derek stopped responding, not sure what happened. After multiple follow-ups to reach him, we did get a response apologizing and that he would be out in the next couple of days, but never showed unfortunately and we are back to no response again - and the remaining gopher issue still. read more

Derek is the man! He knew exactly where to set the traps for the gophers! Got them all! Great service and price!

Excellent service! Derek knows where to set traps and how to catch gophers! I was having an infestation of gophers and was at my wits end. I had tried the poison pellets from Home Depot and the ultrasonic gopher repellent. Didn't work. I heard they didn't like strong smells, so I put lavender and peppermint essential oil drops and sprayed air freshener into the places with activity. Didn't work. I set a couple of traps myself. Didn't catch any. But, I called Derek and he has been solving my problem (nightmare). So far he's caught about 7 or 8 gophers on my front yard, back yard, and backyard hill. I think there's just one left! If you have a gopher problem, Derek's your guy! read more

My guy Dereck did his thing! Not a month had passed from when I laid down sod and the gopher war began. I looked up gopher killing service and this page came up. The pictures should match all of the others. He came to my house, told me what he was going to do, his experience was evident, the price was reasonable. After the initial visit he followed up with 3 more visits. The gopher wasn't in the trap the second visit, by the third he was dead and there were no other gophers in the trap after the 4th visit. read more

Derek showed up right on time. He set the traps the same day. And one week later the problem Gopher was gone. Thanks Derek.

Problem solved! Derek was quick to reply, assessed our gopher situation (not easy with all the shrubs on our slope) and trapped 5 of them! We have not seen any signs of more after his last visit to check on the area. My husband really wanted to handle this himself - he was quick to change his mind after working with Derek. Highly recommend! read more

Derek responded quite quickly. Was honest and told me I had no gophers. Truly appreciated all his knowledge. I highly recommend!

Noticed more gophers after a couple weeks after my service was done. Derek did not care and was basically charging full price again (he had previously told me if this ever happened he would charge me a lot less). He didn't care and all he said was "everything has gone up".. just terrible customer service. He also told me to go look for another company instead of trying to work with the customer to keep their business .. read more

I just had a very upsetting interaction with Derek. It was his 3rd visit, and he did successfully trap 2 gophers; hence 2 stars. He came by, however, with a very defensive, argumentative attitude because I had asked him questions about his prior visit which he assumed meant I didn't trust him. Truth be told, I was just interested in understanding what goes into the process of trapping gophers, as I hadn't seen the traps or the dead gophers up close. This time I did see the gopher he trapped, and I believe he knows what he is doing. His price is competitive, and I might have recommended him to my neighbors, who are looking for someone to catch their gophers, but Derek ended our encounter with "Next time, I suggest you call someone else!" Okay, then, I will, and so will my neighbors. read more

Derek is EXTREMELY responsive, he knows what he's doing, and got the gopher!! I thought we were going to have to go all "Caddy Shack" on the gopher, but Derek, kept trying and got it. read more

Gopher Wars - dead gopher - Pest Control Near Me - Anaheim, California

We had a major problem with the gophers in our front and back yard, we had Orkin try to get rid of them, they still came back. We had our landscaper try to get rid of them, that didn't work either. We need serious fire power, we need to go to war with these gophers. In comes Gopher Wars and Derek, he's an expert and finally in 8 years, the gophers are in hiding, the yard looks great, no more Swiss cheese holes all over the yard. Thanks Derek! Highly recommended. read more

Highly recommend Derek. Here's the story: We bought our home about 2 years ago. We bought it with the exterior being pretty much all dirt in the backyard. This was due to the prior homeowner letting the grass die. Fast forward to recently, my wife and I finally decided to fork out the cash and lay down fresh sod to return the backyard to its former glory. Sure enough, within 1 month's time, some gophers conveniently made their way to our new green lawn. They never showed their face before... but sure enough after we drop some dough on landscaping, they made their way in. Convenient. After watching mound after mound develop in the grass, and realizing I am way too busy to try and take on a new hobby of pest control, I finally had enough and decided to give Derek a call. He was out to my home the next day. By the time he left from our first meeting, he already had traps tactically placed in the ground, a great plan, and a back up plan in case his initial tactic didnt work. Within less than 7 days time, he was sure he got them all and solved my problems. However, he continued to do follow up visits until he knew for certain it was a done deal. Its been a little over a month now since Derek stopped visiting, and luckily the gophers have stayed away. Derek is very cool to deal with, and is clearly good at what he does. I am crossing my fingers and hoping I won't need his services again for quite some time. But if I do, I know who I'll be calling. Thanks again! read more

I got referred to Gopher Wars by the company I use for my ant/spider issues. I was able to text Derek and immediately set up a time for him to come by and offer a quote. He arrived promptly and we agreed to the terms and he set up same day. He has a great attitude and always had a smile on his face. It felt like I was chatting with an old friend. The price was very reasonable and guaranteed for 1 month. The price included 3 visits and he specializes in trapping so they don't immediately have to use chemicals unless they have to, which they didn't for me. After the first week of the traps being set, he caught 3 gophers. He left a couple traps just in case there was another one, but 3 ended up being the magic number. My back yard is finally coming back to life! read more

Derrick was super helpful & thorough. Not only setup everything cleaned up after as well and checked in a few days later to ensure we were still good. Very professional & great customer service. read more

I have used this company and the service was great. I actually like the way he gives you a choice whether you want to actually view the gophers he catches are not. I know that he's done the job because I see the evidence. Since this is my biz and I'm not always there he reports back frequently. He is professional. I love a private owned company verses large commercial companies because they're more personal. Prices are comparable too. ( Derek was the owner of the company.)Great guy!! read more

Great company! They came and set up traps and caught one of the little suckers that was destroying my beautiful flowers and eating my trees

We have been having Gophers problems for years, got fed up and call Derek. He came out the next day, and got to work. He was here for over an hour, and set 26 traps. Came back yesterday to check, 5 gophers down for the count. Finally we can get our yard back! Got gophers? Call Derek! read more

Derek is amazing. He gave me the best quote, showed up for an inspection the very next day, and caught the gopher in our yard in just two visits! He's responsive, great at his job, and just a super nice guy all around. I'm glad I called him, I couldn't be happier! Don't overthink it, just call him. You won't regret it! read more

What an great guy. He is an amazing pest control man. He does go out of his way to help the client. We were in a very serious problem and believe me that Derek went out of his way to really help us. He understood the problem. He thoroughly inspected the whole house unlike the first inspector that we got who just walked around and charge us 4 times more than Derek did. I am telling you before you sell your house call Derek to be safe. Most of the the inspector out there will look at your for sale sign and think that you are definitely going to make money. Not Derek. No!!! He treats people the same way selling or not. I really really appreciate him and his honesty. Thank you Derek for everything you did for us. We really appreciate your work at our house. You are number 1 in my book read more

Great service from Derek in getting the job done and a great guy to know who's focused on getting the job done. I'm in Carlsbad and he recently started servicing north county. He helped with my gopher problem (oh the damage just one of them can do) and gave me guidance on techniques to keep them away. Totally worth it. read more

Had tried to treat an area of my yard where either I had moles or gophers. Finally gave up after trying many things to no avail. Sent Derek at Gopher Wars a request and he literally responded within minutes. He came out to my home and determined it was gopher damage. He set 3 traps and the next morning "BAM" gopher was dead. Derek came out 2 more times just to be sure it was only one gopher. Derek is very knowledgeable of his business and I consider him an expert. Very friendly and very flexible with his time. I would highly recommend him for any gopher issues you may have. read more

Derek was very responsive to my call on a weekend. Came to my house first thing Monday morning. Very professional and knowledgeable. Local company who gave a very reasonable quote which included 3 visits to home. Set traps, no gophers caught. Next trip he gased the many holes in back yard. No visible gophers caught, but no more holes appeared. I'm happy; I had about 10+ holes and there seemed to be no end, the holes kept appearing each day. Recovered holes and all is well. I'm very happy with Gopher Wars and the end results. Well worth the price and results. I highly recommend this company. read more

My wife and I hired Derek and gopher wars to conduct our termite inspection for a VA refinance we are going through. He was exactly the type of person you want to work with. He was respectful of our time, efficiently identified the issue and corrected things for us. The pricing was more than reasonable, hopefully we never have termite problems in the future but we would not hesitate to hire Derek again. read more

Derek of Gopher Wars took at look at my garden area, with all the mounds of dirt. He found out quickly that there were active tunnels, he set 3 traps, and gave it a few days. Sure enough, there was a little guy down there, and Derek caught him. If any further mounds appear out there, Derek will be the first person I call. read more
