Well, they totally screwed up. Got an oil change, on Friday, June 21 in Williamsburg and thinking all was good, drove 200 miles and while in MD, saw a large puddle of engine oil my friends drive way. Now I am stuck...... oil stick checked - no oil visible. Off to get a quart of oil..... checked underneath. Saw oil dripping from oil filter, one drop every 5 seconds........ not a happy camper...... At an auto repair garage in MD now on Monday, June 24, and the mechanic just talked to me. The last person to install the filter, did not properly align the oil filter and it was not seated- seal correctly. Go figure.... Lost 3 quarts of engine oil in 3 days. Oil covered the underbody, and I have pictures to prove the lack of attention of detail by the Williamsburg mechanic that works here.. Now my second oil change is complete and another 85$. Glad it was not an engine fire or blown engine. GREAT JOB GOODYEAR!!!!!!!! I did submit a claim and was pleasantly surprised with a full refund ( credit) on my second oil change out of state..... But I had to drive 70 mins round trip to visit the store manager for the 86$ credit . read more

I had the worst customer service here! It seemed inconvenient that I wanted someone to look at my tire even though there no other customers in the store, and was told "they didn't even need to look at my tire, it would need to be replaced". Furthermore, I couldn't just buy one tire, I'd have buy four. So, I asked to have my spare put on, and refused to do any further business here. I would never recommend this business. read more

Austin, I'm guessing the tire tech, needs to learn customers interaction skills. Flinging open a door and no "excuse me" or "sorry" or nothing. The guy there was rude when I called to ask about appointments. I told him I wanted something for Friday or Saturday and he told me I could bring it over now and kept questioning why I couldn't bring it now. Then I received a call from Angi (who is very nice) saying my car was ready. I went to get it and Larenzo told me that it wasn't ready because he hadn't finished the paperwork, and I told him that I had gotten a call an hour ago. He asked me which car was mine. He then spent 10 minutes shuffling papers around, and charged me the wrong ticket. Then had to spend another 15 minutes trying to figure out how to fix it. I asked to see the correct ticket to make sure it was mine, and he told me no it was the right one. Never apologized for his mistake. Got in the car and found out that the service light had not been turned off after the oil change and tire rotation, which I had specifically told them to do (I said there will be two things to turn off- service light and oil light) and they assured me that they would do both. I've always had great service here, and actually have never left a negative review for any business before, but this was pretty awful. read more

Took my vehicle there for a state inspection. They rattled off a bunch of stuff that I needed to have done, including brakes. Every time I go for a tire rotation, they say the vehicle is out of alignment and want to charge me $100+. If something is wrong, I don't mind paying, but do NOT like the dishonesty. The best part about the service was the friendly gentleman that checked me! I had scheduled on line to have an oil change. Since we drive less than 7000 miles a year I chose the cheapest synthetic oil change. When I arrived for my appointment I was told they cannot give me the cheapest oil change. The only that they had the oil available for was the most expensive oil change. He gave me a better discount so I decided to get it done. When my car was finished I was surprise by the final cost. I had a very positive experience at this Goodyear location as an out of town customer. My tire was compromised by a screw and had lost tire pressure the day before in Pennsylvania. We added air and fix a flat which allowed for us to travel for 5 hours to Williamsburg. Our thoughts were to find an automotive shop to assess the tire as we had plans to travel an additional 16 hours on the road. I called the shop and was told to stop in later in the day. When I arrived the service manager was very friendly as he gathered my information. My car was taken back within about 15 minutes, given a thorough evaluation and was tested for leaks. It was determined that all was okay and no punctures were found. Instead of walking out with a bill, I was told that this was a complimentary service and since no repairs were needed it would be no cost to me. Fantadtic news and even better customer service. I've had some work done at this Goodyear, but today they really stepped up to the plate. I had had a flat tire on 64 this morning and managed to get to Goodyear to see if I needed to get the tire replaced or repaired. Since I had gotten the tires at Sam's, the Goodyear people suggested I call them first and see if the warranty was still good. Not many places would do that. After six times of waiting for my calls to get through (without any luck) to Sam's tire department and looking at the warranty information I had, I asked Goodyear to go ahead and replace the tire. They were most accommodating, and I had the car with the new tire a couple of hours later. Thank you for being so helpful! read more

I brought car in for repair to nail pucture. Was told 45 minute fix. 1.5 ours later, car ready. Tire re-installed backwards (inside of tire facing out). Another hour for correct installation. Facility uses untrained person as "Tech." Observed tech spending as much time on his phone texting as he did performing repair. Complete inattention to detail and leaves me wondering how well the actual repair to the tire was performed. Would certainly avoid this shop. read more

Deceived by this dishonest garage... No way to make this right, management unavailable. Absolutely appalled that I was hoodwinked into thinking I was paying for what I believed was replacement fog lights for my state inspection to be completed. When told that I had cracked fog lights and given the options to either have the lights be "taken/replaced" out for a charge or be failed having to replace the lights myself then return. I thought I choose the safest route and had the establishment replace the lights for their "justifiable" price. Turns out they just unplugged my lights, taped the wire and placed the wire behind the bumper. $119 later to have a mechanic "unplug" lights. Save your time and money for another mechanic shop that does want to help their customers make the right decisions. read more

I would give zero stars to this business if the review would allow. I purchased 4 new tires, over $1000, just 26 days ago. I also purchased the "Road Hazard" insurance for the tires. This morning, I had a flat on the highway. After changing the tire, I stopped by the same Goodyear store to have my flat repaired. The tech told me it was not repairable. For an additional $52, I could have my tire replaced. Road Hazard insurance at other tire companies covers the replacement. Goodyear is finding ways to keep taking money from people. They are disreputable, as far as I am concerned. I will not return to this company for tires in the future. read more

I was appalled at the service at this Goodyear. I took my car in for a state inspection and they determined it would not pass if I did not have new tires. They told me that the cheapest tires I could purchase from them would cost $600. I called other tire shops in the area to see if this was true and received an estimate of $300 from another shop close by. I told them at goodyear that I was going to go get tires from another place that could beat their offer. They then HELD MY CAR HOSTAGE for another couple hours. They claimed they couldn't get it down because the inspector was working on another car. I completely believe they did this on purpose because I decided not to buy their tires. I have been dealing with this particular automotive service station since shortly after it was opened. I can say, without hesitation, that I have never had anything less than top notch excellent service that I have never experienced before. I have come to trust them implicitly through multiple times of dealing with them. Doug, the Manager, runs a staff of highly skilled and talented automotive technicians and office staff that are friendly and always willing to go the extra mile (no pun intended) to make sure the customer is satisfied with the work performed. Most importantly, they are not infallible and will readily admit that. With that said they stand firmly behind their work and will work tirelessly and expeditiously to correct any issue that may arise after their initial work is performed. One one occasion I had a major and costly repair which had to be performed and multiple parts were required. As the repair proceeded I received a call stating that, as they got in to the repair it was discovered that a particular component (and a very expensive one at that!) was not required and my total cost of the repair was substantially reduced. Can't say that I have ever had that happen before. They could have easily said nothing, pocketed the money, and I would have been none the wiser. Says a lot about their integrity. I must take exception to the posting by Samuel R. about his bad experience with a Goodyear rebate. I don't doubt his experience nor do I call into question his opinion. I merely suggest his posting is misplaced and does not apply to this particular Goodyear location. I feel certain that, if this had happened at this Williamsburg location and had been brought to Doug's attention, the outcome would have been far different. Please don't judge the Williamsburg Goodyear based upon Mr. Samuel's post. In short (and I know I have not been) I strongly and without reservation recommend the Williamsburg Goodyear Automotive Service Center for all your auto service needs. You won't be disappointed. Please guys, do not go here. I went in for an inspection (which passed) but they said my car needed over $700 worth of repairs. If my car was truly in such bad shape as they claimed, it would have never passed inspection in the first place. I don't know much about cars and they completely took advantage of that--telling me over the phone it was "in really bad shape". Mind you, i drive a nice car which runs perfectly fine and i have noticed 0 things wrong with it. Your first instinct is to trust them! But it's sad that you can't. Luckily my dad was able to see that nothing was wrong with my car and saved hundreds of dollars. I do not understand how people can willingly lie to you in order to make money. Do yourself a favor and stay away from here. They are fine with doing an inspection because legally they can only charge you $20. Anything beyond that, don't trust them. DONT TRUST THE ESTIMATE. CHECK YOUR PRICES FIRST. i went in to have my radiator checked out. The cost of checking it out was 50 dollars. I was told my waterpump needed replacing along with my thermostat. The total cost was 950 dollars. it was 238 dollars for the water pump and 378 dollars to install it. The thermostat was another 190 dollars, they claimed it was 1.5 hours to change it so thats 150 dollars and 40 dollars for the thermostat. I googled the time to change the thermostat and it literally takes 10 minutes and that includes lifting the hood. Also i was given my old waterpump back in the box of the new waterpump and i noticed it was from advance auto parts. I price checked the water pump item number and the price was 94 dollars! GOODYEAR charged me 150% markup on the pump. Oh and the thermostat. markup was 100%. lastly the waterpump has a life time warranty from advance auto parts. however LEE at Good year told me to get the life time warranty I HAD TO take the 100 dollar radiator flush. so a job at an honest mechanic would have cost me about 300 bucks ended up costing me over 700. read more

Salesman David B (022) and technician Christopher D (073) . I brought my car on 4/17/14 to the 4830 Monticello Ave Williamsburg, VA to replace my rear drivers tire and repair a sensor light. First the man at the front desk wouldn't give me an approximate time for the car to be repaired, which I could understand; things like this can differ. But upon completion of my car on 4/18/14 the final price of my car was almost double what was initially stated (initially stated $227 and invoice was $474). To make matters worse, my trunk compartment of my car was left a mess! My spare tire was left on top of my tools and other equipment, unscrewed to the trunk. The floorboard that is suppose to go on top of it was just thrown on top of a giant mess and the carpeting is no where in sight! I took a picture of what your technician did to my trunk! I will be greatly discouraging anyone I know to visit Goodyear in the future and am just astounded by the staffs general lack of caring! read more

Like its sister location on Richmond Road, this location's managers work hard to provide excellent customer service. I've found them fair and honest. No, they won't always be as timely as we'd like -- but that's because they are in high demand and can't fully handle the volume in peak times. When that happens, their managers are honest about it, and create reasonable expectations. I'd say that their work is good, and their commitment to doing the right thing (especially manager Kevin) is even better. That's rare, and appreciated. UPDATED: I removed a couple stars after my most recent experience. I brought my vehicle in with a flat tire (second nail in 2 months, but that's just bad luck), and they told me they'd get to it the next day. I understood -- they're a busy shop. I picked up my vehicle the next day. It just didn't feel quite right on the road, so after several days I tested the air pressure in all 4 tires. 3 of them were spot-on around 30 PSI, but the one they replaced read 45! I called the shop, and David told me that their procedure to patch a tire is to over-inflate it to check for leaks, and someone "probably forgot" to restore the tire pressure back down to driving levels. We talked some more, and he again said that they "probably" forgot -- as if there was any other way that tire could have become over-inflated (it sure didn't swell up on its own!). He also referenced the higher tire pressure of 40 PSI -- intentionally rounding down the number I told him (45 PSI) to make it sound like less of an error. He offered to have me bring my car in to deflate my tire to the proper pressure "at no charge" -- but I simply deflated it myself in about 60 seconds. This wasn't a horrible experience, but it didn't feel honest. The other David (Held, from the Richmond Road location) would have handled this better. He would have fessed up and said, "Oh, man, someone screwed up. I'm sorry. How can I make it right?" read more

Very disappointed with their service. 1) They did not fix my car. 2) When i took it back for them to correct their mistake, they sat on it for 24 hours and were unable to tell me what was wrong with it. 3) They blamed former management 4) Due to their lack of response and motivation to get the issue fixed I took it elsewhere. Dropped off vehicle 1PM on Friday for oil change and inspection. Never received a call that the services had been completed. Called Saturday morning 930AM to check if done. After getting placed on hold a few times was finally told it was done. Went right over to pick it up. They man that checked me out was not pleasant. He snapped at the other working accusing him of having my record up on his PC so he couldn't get to it. Then accused him of leaving the record up on the PC in the work area. He finally got it figured out. While this took place after counter person showed up for work and attempted to assist this guy by looking at the other papers on the counter. The man helping me snapped at him telling him to "don't touch anything, I have everything where I want it". He handed me my receipt without any eye contact or comment. read more

No customer service. Wednesday, September 14, 2016 During the noon hour, my wife had a flat tire at the Wendy's, within a block of this Goodyear Auto Service Center. She was on her way to work and this was yet another bad event in a very stressful week. She carefully moved her van to the Goodyear parking lot and went inside. When asked if she could be helped, she said "I am having a really bad day and I hope you can make it a little bit better". The response from the employee was "Why would I want to do that?". He then glanced into the shop area and told her that there was no way anything could be done until late in the afternoon. No apology, no attempt at customer service, did not even take two minutes to look at the tire. I left work, picked her up at that location, and took her to work. I returned, jacked up the van in the parking lot and put the spare tire on. Despite being out in the front and seeing several employees, none ever spoke to me. I took the van to another location to have the flat tire replaced. This shop has had my business once before. No reason now to be a repeat customer. read more

I needed three new tires. I picked out the tires on their website and made an online appointment. The total cost was $386, which included installation and taxes. When I arrived at the appointed time my job was pulled up and I went over it with the man at the front desk. Everything seemed to be in order. It was a pretty simple job: two new tires on the front and one on the right rear. He printed out the work order and handed it to me to sign. When I looked it over I was stunned -- the total came to $686! I asked him, "What is this?" He looked right at me and without batting an eyelid he said, "Oh, this is for 4 new tires." Then he made as if to change it. That's when I also noticed a $90 charge for something called 'road assurance' which I had not agreed to and another $80 for a service package I hadn't signed up for. That explained the extra $300. I looked at the guy and said, "I'm not playing this game with you." And then I walked out. I am convinced that they tack these hidden fees on to the work orders just to see what they can get away with. Are they crooked? You be the judge. read more

I called ahead of time to make an appointment for an oil change. With two babies under the age of two, you have to be quick because they don't have much patience to sit still for long. The front desk woman said they could take me in now and it wouldn't be longer than an hour to get my oil changed and done. I live less than a mile away so I drove over there right away. After 45 mins of waiting my babies started getting upset and still seeing my car parked where I had left it, I asked the front desk woman what was going on. She completely avoided eye contact with me and said they are going to get it now and would be another 40 mins longer. Which I know means another hour, or more, based on their "timeline" they set previously. The Good Year employee did not set proper expectations with me when I called ahead to make an appointment. Also, I'd rather them be honest and up front with me on the timeline and over estimate the time it would take than under estimate so I could make arrangements accordingly or come at another time solo. So I peaced out with my two upset babies and said I would take my business elsewhere. read more
