They won me over when they took the time to diagnose that little "rattle" in my muffler as simply a loose baffle and recommended to do nothing (bear in mind folks -- the Midas brand "sells" mufflers). Saved me $300 and didn't charge me to look at it. Since then, I've taken my cars in from everything to oil changes to timing belts, water pumps, and a very interesting timing sensor short. She took the time to explain everything to me and was patient in answering all my questions. She was even very empathetic when I told her the situation I was in (car had broken down on my way home and I was desperate to get back to NoVa ASAP for work.) She made sure to pass that info on to the mechanic (I think his name was Don, but now I'm seeing Chuck...maybe it was him? I'm not 100% sure--I'm terrible with names) who was AMAZING at his work and with his level of professionalism on the phone, and who may have finished the job faster than he otherwise might have since he knew of my situation. I really appreciated that. Marnie even called to follow up the next day and make sure I got back home okay! Honestly, when your car breaks down and you're pissed that you have to spend a bunch of money unexpectedly, it really helps to take your car to a place that at least makes the process as smooth and enjoyable as it could possibly be. Now I am stuck...... oil stick checked - no oil visible. Off to get a quart of oil..... checked underneath. Saw oil dripping from oil filter, one drop every 5 seconds........ not a happy camper...... At an auto repair garage in MD now on Monday, June 24, and the mechanic just talked to me. The last person to install the filter, did not properly align the oil filter and it was not seated- seal correctly. Go figure.... Lost 3 quarts of engine oil in 3 days. Oil covered the underbody, and I have pictures to prove the lack of attention of detail by the Williamsburg mechanic that works here.. Now my second oil change is complete and another 85$. Glad it was not an engine fire or blown engine. GREAT JOB GOODYEAR!!!!!!!! I did submit a claim and was pleasantly surprised with a full refund ( credit) on my second oil change out of state..... But I had to drive 70 mins round trip to visit the store manager for the 86$ credit .

Firestone is my go-to tire place and so I ordered two replacement tires. When the lead technician, JR, went to install these new tires he also measured my existing tires, discovering that they were in very good shape and would pass inspection. And then he did the right thing: He called me to make sure I wanted tires that I didn't necessarily need. I had my car re-inspected at Firestone, passed with the existing tires, and it's the best $20 I've ever spent. Now Firestone will be my go-to for other services as well.
