Please ignore the negative reviews - the customer service at this Goodyear is unbelievable! My husband and I were in Mclean at an appointment and our tire light came on. We had a two hour plus drive home to where we live - panic! Henry and his crew saved the day with prompt and affordable service. I'm new to the area, and was so pleased to discover the outstanding service offered by the Goodyear Auto Service in McLean and Service Manager Henry in particular. I brought my truck in for a tire rotation, and Henry discovered a puncture in the side of one of the tires that represented a serious safety hazard. Within a day's time, Henry ordered me a new tire of the same brand (not Goodyear, so had to be ordered) and got me safely back on the road. Service was professional, prompt and friendly. Henry even helped me install a front license plate holder for my truck (I moved from out of state). I will be a loyal customer of Henry and the McLean Goodyear going forward. read more

Having to get a tire fixed is one of my least favorite activities, because there's always a sense of being out of my sphere of expertise and being shunted through a sales pipeline of fee structures and last-minute margin increases in products based upon availability even after having research tire prices and labor costs ahead of time. I seek out a shop with a person that I can trust wherever I live, and I've just moved to this city so when I got a slow-leaking flat I sighed, because I had not yet found my place, my go-to person. Wow. Now I found my place, my contact: Henry Henry is the kind of service manager ninja who has memorized the customer, their vehicle, and last service and refers to it as they walk in. He sees people in the parking lot and opens the front door to greet them and ask what's the problem. Sitting and waiting for my service inspection to be completed, I had the pleasure of observing as Henry performed his master class of customer service and precision in scheduling and turning process into efficiency for the customer as well as the shop. He is a gentleman and also very direct in tone. If in doubt, he doesn't charge without explaining to the customer in detail exactly why and how the charges are built. He did my inspection and found a cracked wheel and didn't recommend a tire replacement even though he could have. No charge. He sent me on to a validated wheel repair shop that had a handwritten number and clearly years of referral stored away in his plastic binder of many local servicers. He put me in early on the schedule even though I had no appointment and it was a busy day. Further, I saw two different customers thank him for being so honest and helpful over time, and one was a busy professional who stopped by solely to make this statement to Henry. "Thank you. You are remarkable." If I had doubts I didn't after sitting in this lobby for 45 minutes and observing how the shop worked and the customers were treated. The shop deserves our support, and Henry deserves to be an operations and customer service case study in management and ops programs. read more

If they can't fix an issue, they'll be up front about it and refer you to the dealer. This was the case when I had a ABS fault, it turned out to be a complicated job even for the dealer. I appreciated the honesty and candor. Today, I just purchased new tires for my truck, ordering was seamless, price was competitive and was in and out quickly with an alignment. I call yesterday to ask if I had warranty on my tires I bought a year ago and the guy over the phone is rudely responding telling me he couldn't tell me unless I got it looked at. When I come in today, he doesn't even look at the tire, he just looks me up online and states I don't have warranty and they can't do anything about it. Super upset because I did not need to drive out here if he could've looked me up in the system. I do not want to come back here. He shouldn't have told me over the phone to come in if he wasn't even going to look at my tire. read more

I've got nothing but good things to say about this Goodyear! I used to avoid places like this because I thought they added a high premium to their products and service. I started coming regularly about 3 years ago, mainly because it was so convenient. Since then, I've had service done and purchased tires here. I couldn't be happier. What I experienced today is the reason I keep coming back. I'm about to go on a long trip, so at home I checked the tire pressure on all my tires plus the spare. The spare and two others needed air. When I looked at the two tires, though, I noticed some small issues. I brought the vehicle in and asked the Tech to check it out. At any other place, that's the only opening they need to sell two new tires. It's a truck, so they'd be fairly expensive. Here, though, they gave me an honest assessment. No new tires needed at the moment! I appreciate the honesty, even if it costs them a sale. The same goes for service. If you don't need it, they won't try and sell it. And, there's no hard sell on anything. I appreciate that. If you're looking for a go-to automotive shop, look no further. You've found it! read more

Henry treated me as a 5 star customer. Took my car in promptly to diagnose the issue with loss of tire pressure. His tech put the car up, found the imbedded nail and showed me why the tire was unrepairable. Henry then ordered me a matching tire, had the full-size spare installed and sent me on my way. Tire should be delivered in 2 days. Henry is a pro - even brought out a Kahlua Keurig coffee pod for a great cup of coffee while I was waiting. Truly an awful experience. Scheduled an appt for an oil change and a tune up consult because my car has been making a loud squeak when i go at low speeds or brake. Came in at the time, pretty easy, let them know to confirm I needed the oil change and then the whole tune up 29 point inspection, but to specifically look at the brakes. Get a call about an hour after telling me my brakes are fine, the oil change was done, but I needed 4 new tires, air filters, and a wheel alignment. Says it will be $1460. Insane. Scam. I say I can't do that and they magically find discounts to get it to 1218. I say I'll call back after I think about it. Call back an hour later and suddenly its $860, which is almost manageable but the oil change is $110 (what should normally be $89 at other goodyear stores I've been to in the area) and the wheel alignment would be $135. Still insane! A wheel alignment and balancing is necessary to even put on new tires and it's an included service! I finally get my car, entire billing system is down so not able to use my goodyear card. have to wait 30 minutes for them to just write down my card number. The reason I came in, the squeaking, was told they didn't hear it and everything is fine, regardless of me explaining I have been hearing it for 2+ months and multiple people have heard how loud it has gotten. The best part! On the receipt it shows my tire tread depth is 9/32, nowhere near necessary for replacement and absolutely not for all of the extra services they were trying to tack on without fully telling me. Awful business, outrageous pricing, and clearly trying to make a buck thinking I don't know enough about cars to believe it. I called two other tire places I trust and both laughed for a full minute on the phone after explaining what ridiculous price they tried to sell me and confirmed they were trying to get one over on me. I always take my vehicles to this Goodyear shop. The service manager, Henry, does not try and sell you services you don't need. I had an intermittent "check engine" light come on while in FL and had it checked at a Pep-Boys. They charged me a $90 diagnostic fee and told me my car needed $2,400 worth of parts and service. I took it to Goodyear. I explained what happened in FL and also told him I had just had the alternator replaced. Henry said there were 19 diagnostic codes showing, so he cleared them all and told me to drive it for a day or two and to come back if the check engine light reappeared. He charged me $0. Apparently the codes were not cleared out when the alternator was installed. The light has not reappeared and the car works just fine. This is what integrity looks like. read more

I've been a customer of this Goodyear location for about five years, but that ended as of today. Around 4:30 today, my car's check engine fluid warning light came on, so I brought my car over to the repair shop. The McLean Goodyear's website says the business is open until 6pm, so I thought I could pop in and see if anyone would be able to take a look at the car. When I went in and asked the customer service representative if that would be possible, he looked affronted. "You want to have your car looked at, and we're closing in twelve minutes." I replied something like, "oh, sorry, the website stated you all were open until 6. What time do you open in the morning? Is there a chance someone could look at it then?" His response - "The sign on the door says we close at 5, and I don't know if we'd be able to look at it tomorrow morning." He seemed genuinely put out that I misunderstood the shop's hours, as if I was personally trying to trick him into servicing my car. I swear I wasn't dude. I'm just a customer trying to find a car repair shop that wants to, you know, repair cars. So, I left and went to Craftsman Auto, which posts accurate hours on its website and has courteous and professional service reps. The experience was as different as night and day. read more

These guys are pretty busy consistently. Had a flat and I purchased a replacement tire online and needed it mounted last Saturday pm. Henry was very accommodating. Although I had a scheduled appt time, after a brief wait, I was in and out in no time. Good location too in that Starbucks, Chesapeake Bagel and a few other places are all within a block or two if you're waiting for your car. Prices are reasonable as well. I don't exactly have any significant complaints since they did exactly what I came in for, and they did it at a reasonable price and in a reasonable amount of time. So here's what I didn't like: 1. They did the typical upsell. Not a hard one like I sometimes get, but a typical pick-your-fluid replacement that would cost around $130. I declined, and there was no further talk regarding this nonsense. 2. They told me that it would take up to 2.5 hours. I should be happy that they actually only took 45 minutes to replace my oil. I don't like that they gave me a much longer estimate for what is a quick service. I suppose it may have something to do with the possibility that Police vehicles might come in and jump the service line. 3. The older track suited front desk guy wasn't particularly well suited to the service industry. A very minor complaint, but ultimately it's the work that counts. This place is totally acceptable, and they have well priced oil changes if you go to their website and print the coupon. I'll be returning again for my next oil change, and will leave my expectations at the door. One positive in case you are made to wait a while, is that they have free wifi. read more

Today happened to be my day off, so I decided to bring in my used Kia for some service. I knew for sure that she was overdue for an oil change, and that was my primary concern. I had just let it go probably 5000 mike's longer than I should have. The Service Manager was super friendly this morning, and he took down all if my information. He also told me about a promotion they had which I like be eligible for, since I was already getting the oil change work done. He offered to provide wheel alignment and tire rotation for 30% off if I agreed to get the work done at the same time. Course I would, I exclaimed. What better day to get all this stuff done, than on my day off on Monday. So I just sat and chilled in their little showroom while playing with my phone. The process took about an hour, and I barely even realized the time go by. All in all, I had a pretty positive experience at this automotive repair shop! read more

I had a very positive experience with Eddie and Henry at Goodyear. I had been looking for a good auto shop in McLean after McLean Auto Service sold their business. So early last year I tried Goodyear and I was very satisfied with their work, manner, and professionalism. But this January, I had some service done on the car that my wife drives, and I was disappointed. I always like to give the merchant a chance to correct a bad situation before rushing to post negative comments. So I called Goodyear and asked if I could come in and talk about my concerns and Eddie said sure. I met with him and Henry in their office and explained my concerns--they apologized, said that they should have done better, and went above and beyond to satisfy me. They also told me that if there's ever a problem again to please talk to them right away. I would highly recommend this Goodyear location to my friends and family. read more

But you know what? Once in a while let things slide. If they really fk up, nail them, but trying to squeeze blood out of them, not fair. Mistakes do happen as in low tire light coming on due to nails. I have been cheated out of over $30,000 in car repairs in the past 50 years by various shops. I have been taken by crooks for two new radiators, back when i was naive. I have been to Goodyear, twice for tires, and once for something else, do not recall. Henry runs a great show and Kevin has been good. No issues. Why would Kevin be rude to some and not others. Some expect and demand to be waited on without regard to one's busy 10 hour day, and if they do not smile properly, they are rude. My two cents. I have been pleasantly surprised several times, expecting large repair bills and they tell me the repairs needed are less extensive than I expected. We recently took some trash to the dump and unluckily picked up two nails in one tire. We tried one of those fix it kits with a plug but could not make it work. Husband took it to Goodyear and they quickly plugged both holes without trying to sell us a replacement tire, and he biggest surprise....wait for it.....it was done for FREE! I didn't think anything was done for free anymore. We didn't even buy the original set of tires from them. What a great store! Little things like this just made my day. I feel comfortable bringing my car here. I bought 4 tires several years ago and came back to get them rotated before going on a road trip. They discovered a puncture in one of my tires. They gave me discounts to reduce to the price of the tire. I'm glad I replaced it because on my road trip someone cut us off and slammed their brakes so we had to slam our brakes while on I-95. A scary experience. It's a corporate location and not a franchise (like the one in Arlington Wilson & 10th who are cheats). Eddie is the manager. So after my initial visit, as I guessed the CV boot had melted from the use of blowtorch. The manager (Eddy) immediately took responsibility for the mistake and set up appointment to replace CV axle including boot. The appointment went much smoother and Eddy was apologetic for the mistake. I would give him 5 stars for rectifying the problem. I would not hesitate to come back for future repairs since manager is stand up guy who takes responsibility for this location. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I took my car in there for a simple service. when I got the car back my car was making so much noise and I called them since I suspected they rotated the tires on my car when they're not supposed to be. I took the car back there when they said to bring it and they would fix it. And they didn't. They just left the tires in the wrong location and didn't do anything. They've had me going back and forth there to fix this issue and now my tires are worn out. They said they would replace the tires at a discount and then went back on their word and said they wouldn't do such a thing. I have always had great experiences with other Goodyear locations in the past. Therefore, I assumed that this experience would be the same. I didn't have a bad experience overall . . . they were prompt, repaired my car and were helpful when I called initially. My problem with this location revolved around the pricing. I had called with a dead battery. I told them my make and model of the car and asked them what my estimated cost would end up being with all charges and labor included. I was quoted a price of $113 over the phone. Done deal, which is why I went with Goodyear as opposed to another store to have my battery replaced. When I rec'd the call that my car was ready, I asked about the price again and was told it was going to be approx. $125. I was okay with that, but slightly peeved with the difference in price. When all was said and done I went to pick up my car and my total ended up being $163.00! I explained this to the man at the counter, letting him know that I understood that it wasn't his fault, and he preceded to justify the price difference by telling me that "lady, there are cars out there that have WAY more expensive batteries than yours and they can go up to $400 per battery!" This had nothing to do with me or my car battery, nor was it any help to the fact that this location is inconsistent and not at all concerned about customer service. I paid and left, as it was obviously not worth the argument. I will never return to this location again. read more

My only complaint is with the manager, Henry S. I used to go to this location because I had a friend who worked there and he gave me fantastic service so I gave him my business. I kept going because I had purchased 3 sets of tires there and had some work done on a previous car. Henry clearly does not like customers, and I've seen him treat many others the same way so it's not just me. I get the impression that he thinks people are looking for a handout, or that they feel entitled to something like a cheaper price on something. Sometimes all we want is an answer to our question. My wife's complaints are with everyone she's dealt with (today). She had to go in today to pick up a tire I had mounted after our teenage son had a blowout on a curb. Never "ma'am, may I help you" or even a "yes". She went to the counter and told them what she was looking for and still no acknowledgement. Just went looking for the tire and brought it back. I'm old-fashioned. I'll spend an extra $25 on great service any day of the week. This place is 7 miles away and there are several places that are closer. All they want is your money. They couldn't be less concerned with repeat business. So... Never again. read more
