While the front desk staff are wonderful and nice, I will not be going back here because of the mechanics and their unscrupulous business practices. I have had my car for 5 years and have had at least 10 oil changes at at least 4-5 different places, and I have never been up-charged for an oil change. Here, I was told in the end that I had to pay extra supposedly because my V6 engine took more than the allotted amount of oil for a standard oil change. None of this potential was mentioned upfront. Mechanics, you got an extra $20 in surprise fees on me, but you forever lost a customer. Also, the mechanics here called me each of the two times I took my car in with a laundry list of items to get repaired; however, I had just moved away from an honest mechanic who had explained to me one or two things that needed to be repaired soon when I had the funds. When I asked them to print out the list of all of the items they were spurting at me over the phone, each of the two mechanics said they would, but ultimately, did no such thing. These are short-sighted folks looking for their commission for the day or something and have no concern for the customer base of this franchise. read more

Oh and a headlight bulb recently blew out, which you must access from inside the wheel well, so when attempting to remove the wheel studs, they would not break free even using a cheater bar. Fearing I might strip or worse snap the stud, I attempted removal with my air impact wrench, and they still wouldn't break free, only after using a brand new Makita impact wrench did they finally break free. These studs were obviously way over torqued. So just as they didn't pay attention to tire pressures, they equally don't pay attention to over torquing. This is a tire shop, yeah? read more

I needed a special tire that isn't carried everywhere and they were able to order it and have it in the next day. I made an appointment and my car was seen right on time and was done in less than an hour. There's plenty to eat or do around there so you can eat lunch or run errands and your car will be done when you return. read more

Unbelievable service. I made a last minute appointment when my car would not start. AAA was unable to start so car was towed to service center. They kept me informed throughout the day and found the issue. They got the car running and printed out documentation for me to take to Ford dealership to finish fixing the problem since it was a known issue with the car. They went above and beyond! Got a flat within 3 days of moving to Baltimore. Ordered the tire that night on Goodyear's website (a Monday night). Scheduled appointment to have it installed 7am Friday morning. Received an email confirmation from Goodyear that everything was all set. Dropped off my Jeep at 7:10am Friday morning, thinking that would be more than enough time to change 1 tire and get to work (even early). Person at the desk said the associate was "running late" and wouldn't be in until 8:30am. Had to Uber to work. Had to call the place back at 2pm that Friday to even see what was going on. (No communication from shop.) Person on the phone said the tire "hadn't come in yet," but "they were working on it." Poor customer service, horrible communication both by the company and this local shop. read more

BEWARE! Brought my car in for a quick oil change and came out with over $1600 worth of service that was needed ASAP, which included new brakes and tires. I then took my car into my regular mechanic and asked them to do a "once over" for safety and maintenance. Looked online for tires for my vehicle. This location advertised 4 tires with $120 discount for buying 4 tires. The partial listed cost exclusive of local taxes was $530.00. I made an appointment with an anticipated cost less than $600. The day before my appointment, I called an asked for an out the door final cost. The gentleman that answered the call said it would be $717.00. I reiterated that the online cost was $538 with a discount of $120. He informed me that the installation cost was the same amount. I asked for an exclamation as to how he arrived at $717 and his response was that it was $717. That being said, I canceled my appointment. I can only imagine my reaction had I followed through with my appointment when the final cost was almost $200 greater than the listed partial cost. Ladies, do not go here! Both my boyfriend and I tried to get oil changes for each of our cars on the same day. Goodyear tried to up-charge me for a special type of oil that I didn't actually need, which would have cost me double the amount for an oil change than my boyfriend! On top of that, they called me stating that my car's rear breaks needed to be fixed, which would cost close to $500! My car recently had my breaks check, so I knew this is was not actually needed. This Goodyear unfortunately seems to think women don't understand cars and will try to get more money out of them. read more

I guess they don't pay their employees adequately. DONT LEAVE ANYTHING IN THE CAR. Got 4 new tires put on car and went to lunch. All change and small bills were stolen from car and duffel bag in back seat. Only amounted to something like $10, not a big deal. Just really REALLY Skeezed out by the quality of employees working at this place, and the fact that somebody went through a closed duffel bag. Do they hire from a prison release program or from halfway houses or something? On the plus side, they did put the spare tire back where it belongs. read more

I had a lot of car issues within a month's time and Goodyear was so helpful! I needed new brake pads, rotors, and calipers and they were very honest about what needed to be replaced and gave me a price that was better than firestone down the street. They even patched my leaking tire for free in the same day! Later in the month I replaced my own brake and taillights but one of the bulbs came loose and fell into the lantern. I stopped by Goodyear again to have them take it out and the man working at the front desk was kind enough to go look at my light in the parking lot and fixed it free of charge. Had MD inspections completed at this site on two separate vehicles and I thought that we were treated fairly and priced reasonably for the repairs that were needed. Location is convenient for those that live in the Fed Hill / Locust Point area. I would recommend for inspections. Reasoning for the four stars is because I think they could lower there price a little on the initial inspection. read more

Came in on a Saturday with a spare tire on my vehicle. It being Saturday and decently late I expected a long wait. Unfortunately the flat occurred before a great gym session! Anywho, the store is located in the middle of a shopping center so I could entertain myself for a few hours. I step up to the counter and the young lady explains that they won't be able to get to my car as they only have one technician on site whom is trained to change tires...... Wait, what?!? Have been going to This Good Year on Fort Avenue for years and have always been satisfied. My Father and Uncle used them also before they both passed so I feel a family connection to the Team there and feel comfortable in trusting them on their recommendations and services. Most recently I took my 2000 Sebring Convertible up for a Summer Special that included an oil change and some tests and it was time to get her a new battery since it had died earlier in the week I think it was 4 years old... I took her up and in the process of testing they found the problem of the battery draining / dying! The Team there is both Friendly and Honest and I've found their service FAST! The location is great because they are minutes from downtown Baltimore. Both Public Transportation via the Free Charm City Circulator / Banner Bus or MTA Bus. They also have shuttle service too. Kudos to the Manager Chris and her Team at Good Year on Fort Avenue! I won't be getting a new car anytime soon and feel good that I can take "Ms Blue" up to them and know she's in good hands! read more

Dropped my car off at 1:30PM on a Wednesday with an appointment. Tells me it will be three hours. I call at 6PM to make sure my car is ready...no ma'm it won't be ready until we close by 7PM....hmmm ok---then I show up wait an additional 25 minutes (they hadn't started on my car) and finally get it. Only go here if you have an early morning slot if you expect your car to be ready before they close?!! Goodyear Auto Service Center, more like Badyear Auto Service Center! Common Scenario: 1. Get a flat tire due to a tiny nail in a tire and you happen to be in the area. 2. Spot this specific location and take it in because it's your last resort 3. Drop your car off and talk to a representative who replies, "Hey Bud, the tire repair is on us because it's customer appreciation day!" 4. You: "Great, I will do it" (feels great about the free service) three hours later.... 5. Call from Goodyear. 6. Rep says "Hey Bud, looks like you need a new tire because the nail has punctured the inner lining causing blah blah blah..." 7. You: "can you just plug or patch it?" 8. Rep puts you on hold and then replies, "nope, we can't!" 9. Distress induced and thoughts are "Heck no I do not want to buy a tire" 10. Get my car and peace out. Few hours later.... Get my tire plugged at an honest and trustworthy mechanic = $20 read more

I went one morning on the recommendation of the Maryland Transportation Authority after I got a flat tire on the center of easy pass lane of the Ft McHenry Tunnel @ 6am...ugh...after the tow truck dropped (literally) my truck off their truck onto Fort Ave. with a live hamster inside...which freaked me out and damaged my truck far worse. The good people @ Goodyear, thank goodness, came to my rescue! They not only let the tow guy have it and let my poor hamster have solace inside their warm shop...they fix my entire truck (even a couple of extras for free...thanks guys)! I felt I could trust them and I'm taking it back to them for a brake problem even though its out of my way because I dont feel like I will be robbed :) Im sure they will fix this pesky problem in a jiffy! read more

I called the Goodyear this afternoon as I had a tire that was losing air and was anxious to get the vehicle in before the weekend. The service manager was extremely polite and said he would work me into the schedule before they closed for the day. They repaired my tire and to my surprise didn't even charge me for it. It is rare that a business goes out of its way to fit you into a schedule and even rarer to make repairs and not charge for it. I'm extremely pleased and will definitely take my vehicle back for service in the future. read more

Had a flat and tried calling. Went to voicemail, so I made a reservation online for one of the open slots. Showed up 5 minutes early only to be told that they were too busy and they may be able to get around to it today but they weren't sure. Since I had a reservation, I had planned on staying and waiting but of course that wouldn't work since I left work to take care of this. He also said that he hadn't gotten around to calling me yet - not sure when he was going to call me (he wasn't). Their on-line reservation doesn't mean anything and they don't answer their phone. I had a flat tire in the I-895 tunnel on a Friday evening. After riding on the rim to get out of the tunnel, it was obvious that I needed a new tire. I called this Goodyear Service Center first thing Saturday morning to ask then if they could take me, since I wanted to match the Goodyear radials that I already had. I explained that I needed to wait for the car because I had only the one car and needed to be in DC Sunday AM. They said that they would try to work me in, but that it might take as much as an hour and a half. I was impressed by the courtesy of everyone I talked to at the place. All were polite and efficient. My car was finished well before the 90 minute mark. The other good news is that there are stores--and most importantly, a Starbucks nearby so that if you have to wait, you don't have to stay in the shop. I don't often leave ratings for Yelp or any other service, but I saw that the ratings for this shop were not high. My experience was just the opposite. read more

I made an appointment and showed up about ten minutes beforehand... they didn't even start the oil change until almost two hours after my appointment time. I've had two good experiences here. They fixed my tire once for free and then fixed my breaks. The only reason I give it three stars is because I felt like the prices were a little inflated. I got my breaks fixed and they recommended other things that I should get done. I didn't get them done because I wasn't ready to pay that much. After talking to my dad he agreed that the prices were high and we decided to get a second opinion. I do like this place because it is close and convenient to Federal Hill. read more

Goodyear is within walking distance from my house, which makes it convenient. That said, I've had a terrible experience there. For an oil change, they were fine (slow and inefficient, but fine). However, I made the mistake of taking my car back for a repair. Not only did they spend four days on my car, but they never fixed the problem. Also, they attempted to charge me $300 in "labor" costs. Now, I'm back to where I started, with a problem that was never fixed, while having paid $100, on top of being without a car for four days. read more

I live right around the corner so for sheer convenience I've gone back a few times. However, every time I show up the staff makes me feel like I'm completely inconveniencing them. I hate nothing worse than walking into a retail environment and the employees completely ignore you and keep holding the personal conversation for another 30 seconds to a couple minutes. I don't think it's that hard to give a simple "hello" or even a smile or nod. I have a company car so it's not my money but if it was, I'd give it to any other place than this one. DISCLAIMER: I had an awesome experience my first time at this location and I never got around to writing a review. (Sad face) I'm a repeat GoodYear customer because I enjoy the customer service and products. Or at least I was until this visit. I'm less than impressed this time around for several reasons. After calling two weeks ahead, not only to ensure that I secure the products and services I needed but also to be sure of the costs and budget appropriately, I arrive to find no appointment in the system. I understand that computer errors occur and business goes on so I'm willing to forgo the savings I had due to my call. However, the services I requested were necessary. I purchased two tires and an alignment for approximately $300 but was asked after the fact to add the warranty. I traveled more than 40 miles to this particular GoodYear, not to mention other auto places that were disregarded during my travel, only to find that the one item that was most important to me was suggested as an after thought and for extra money. I was livid to say the absolute least. I'm no longer sure of the point of calling ahead to make an appointment or the purpose of the intake person. The call I got during my servicing about my brakes seemed to pale in comparison once I found that the services I specifically requested were not given to me. I'm not sure what to do at this point, as I've always trusted GoodYear with my car maintenance and will need more as time goes on. I do know that I'm very unhappy with this experience. read more

Like most people, I have taken my car to Goodyear because it has a convenient location (walking distance to my house and also near the Merritt so I can work out while my car is in the shop). Every time I take my car to Goodyear they always find hundreds of dollars worth of additional services that need to be performed. I recently became alarmed at some of the services they said I needed to have and I took a neighbor's advice on going to John's auto in Federal Hill. John was very honest and the total cost of the repairs was over $200 less than what Goodyear was quoting me. If you live in the Federal Hill area please look up John's auto... The manager there is very honest and they do quality work. don't waste your time or money at Goodyear anymore; they probably have a very high overhead and therefore must charge their customers higher rates. read more

Horrible customer service and inexperienced "technicians". Just got my car back on the eighth day of an estimated three day repair. Terrible communication from Kris the service manager, no support at all from Corporate Customer Service or the District Manager. Lost one week of wages as I was unable to work, and the DM states that Goodyear does not compensate for customers inconvenience or loss even when GYis at fault. Overall a big mess which could have been avoided with proper customer service. Awful awful place. They have had my car for over 24 hours just to replace a new set of tires! When I called them they said they ran out of tires and didn't have them. What kind of a tire place runs out of tires. They never notified me of this either I had to call them to get an eta. They still said it may not be done after an entire day of waiting. I went there for them to diagnose two problems with my jeep: clunking in the rear when I hit a bump, and clicking in the drivetrain when I accelerate. They asked for $96 for diagnostics (30 minutes for each problem). They immediately diagnosed the rear clunking as bad bushings in the shocks and fix it, but couldn't get the jeep to act up with the other problem. I came by to show them and they heard it and spent another hour or so trying to diagnose it. They were not able to find the problem but check all the bushings, u-joints, mounts, etc. they ended up only charging me for parts and labor to install new shocks even though they spend a good amount of time trying to diagnose the problems. The problem they couldn't diagnose is a hard one, so that didn't impact my rating much, but it is the only reason for 4/5 stars. The mechanics was very nice and is go back. read more
