Both were delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly, and the fries were crispy and flavorful. I usually have stomach issues when I eat patty melts, but I had no problems at all here, which says a lot about the quality of the food. On top of that, the staff was outstanding. We came in with a very large party, and they handled everything smoothly and professionally without missing a beat. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I won't bore you with all of the details of Gail's life. She can do that if you come. She said she used to come there every day but had to slow down because of her "sugar". You should totally ask if Gail is there, I swear you will feel so much better about your situation if you break bread with her. I had Mel's omelette and had to make it a two egg instead of a three egg omelette. The waitress told me that the omelette would be filled "pretty good" and she was right. The omelette comes with bacon, ham, sausage, bell pepper and onions. It also comes with hash browns,two biscuits and gravy. I knew it was too much for me but wanted to taste all. You can order a la carte but the platter is only $1 more. The diner was packed, but the wait is very short. The wait staff is fast, friendly and very attentive. Definitely highly recommend eating breakfast or lunch here. They close at 2 pm.
