Treasure hunting! The Goodwill donation spot in Kaneohe was closed for lunch, so I drove to Kaimuki to drop off a bag and, as a result, received a 20 percent off coupon! The Kaimuki Goodwill's donation area is on the right side of Koko Head Avenue. The free parking lot is on the right side of Wilhelmina Rise (about 10 labeled stalls) and the Front door of the store is on Waialae Avenue. The book and DVD area is on the left. It's elevated and can be accessed by ramp and steps. There was a grandpa reading to his granddaughter in the nook between the shelves...so cute! On another visit, a man rested on one of the blue reclined chairs...looks so relaxing! The majority of items for sale seems to be clothing. The household items and shoes are towards the back. The cashier is at the front by the dressing rooms. Come here and take a look! Help the community and save some money at the same time! Remember to get the Rewards Card! I got cash to use on my purchase!

Hands down, one of the best Goodwill locations on O'ahu. This thrift icon has revamped their total image in the past few years, and has really become a go-to for almost any occasion. Mother day's, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas; hoards of new and used items put on display near holiday seasons. This Halloween, I was able to find accessories for Carl and Russell costumes from UP! Carl: four legged walking stick, square black glasses Russell: yellow collared shirt, orange hat, backpack accessories I saw a bunch of brand new costumes, accessories (hats, wigs, face paint, crowns, capes etc), and Halloween goods for sale. Target seems to be an overstock supplier, as there as TONS of stationary, kitchenware, furniture and clothing. In addition, they have a FREE rewards points program, basically earn back cash for everything you spend at Goodwill.

Of all the Goodwill locations in Hawaii, the Kaimuki location seems to have the best selection. I come here regularly. Going to a thrift store once a month is good. Going about four to five times a month is even better. Since I am in Kaimuki often, I stop by to see what items have arrived. The inventory turns over quickly. If you see something there, get it. Shopping at Goodwill helps others in the community. Goodwill Industries provides jobs to the disabled. You can do two things if you shop at Goodwill. You can fulfill your shopaholic tendencies without incurring credit card debt and help people who have special needs. This recently trip with my GF was fun. I signed up for a rewards card so I'm excited about all of the future savings I will have! The store was well organized and the staff was very nice and friendly. It wasn't packed with was a great thing. They do have street parking and additional park on Wilhelmina Rise on the right side. Remember that Stalls 74-79 are for Goodwill.

Their Dell program allows you to drop off old computers. This is a good program and I take advantage of it.

Located on the Ground Level of the new Civil Beat Plaza, the Grand Opening was at 9:30am on 9-1-23, Friday. The long line was formed way before 8:45am when I arrived. I parked in the free, open surface parking lot on Wilhelmina Rise, which filled up quickly. Free Refreshments, chances to win gift certificates from nearby Kaimuki businesses (examples: Chubbies Burgers, Daily Whisk Matcha, Cowcow's Tea, Koa Pancake House, Otto Cake, Broken Rice, Atsuka Nabe & Shabu Shabu, and $50 at The Surfing Pig), live music, and gift cards for the first 100 customers were the draw. At 10am, the first 300 people were allowed in the store. I happened to be #175. No gift card for me, but I got a free Donut from Zippy's, and a raffle ticket! Thank you! I enjoyed the clean, bright, air-conditioned, organized, spacious environment! I'll be back soon! Congratulations on your beautiful renovation!

The food wasn't coming from here, but my daughter just had to see what was inside. So we came in to just look. Sugarcane is this cute shop where you can find all these locally made items for a gift, for the home, fir kids, for a friend, or for visitors. They have books, puzzles, toys jewelry, totes, bags, coasters and more. I love the wooden toys for the kids. I bought a wooden cell phone, a camera, stickers and a cute cooking set. They are my kiddos favorite toys. I've gotten key chains and jewelry for gifts. We have coasters for our home too. The workers are pretty friendly and they also wrapped my gift item too. The items seem pricey, but they are locally made and are unique. I don't think you'll find any ship with the same kind of item that Sugarcane carries. Overall, this is a great place to get gifts and maybe something for yourself. Beware of bringing your children. They will make you buy everything.

The past few times I came here, I got a gift for my mom and for someone who I was going to their house for the first time. Both of those times I bought Aloha Aina aromatherapy candles and soaps. When I've come here browsing for myself, I've gotten\ zodiac themed jewelry, a cute cellphone charm, and a hair clip. The space might be small but the selection is vast and curated- you never know what goodies you'll find!

If you're serious about finding an aloha shirt you think you'll wear when you get back home, you…read moremight be looking for something that doesn't exist. You can find aloha shirts just about anywhere on Oahu, whether at expensive boutiques in Waikiki or in the nearest ABC store. However, the visual appeal of the shirt depends completely the eye of the beholder. With that in mind, there probably isn't any other store on the island that offers a broader selection. It's pretty overwhelming. The drawback is that the massive inventory is packed in a retail space so constrained that it can be a challenge to navigate. It took me a while to realize the shirts on the central racks are the priciest, some costing hundreds and (gasp) even thousands of dollars. There are used shirts along the wall that sell as low as $9. I wasn't particularly clear on the difference in quality, but I'll give you one guess which racks I was rifling through. The clerk explained that there were a couple racks of new shirts and the rest are vintage. Many of the shirts were produced in Hawaii. In addition to shirts, they carry an assorted collection of Hawaiian themed vintage souvenirs, antiques and knick knacks. Some of the items are pretty dusty, and had me thinking that they hadn't been moved in a long time. The prices are pretty hefty (except the shirts were reasonable). There were a number of customers scooping up shirts. I was a little claustrophobic to be honest in the tight quarters. There is no dedicated parking. Street parking is available if you're lucky.
