The shop owner is so nice! Make sure to spark up a conversation with her. As someone who shops pretty regularly (daily) for vintage 1940-1960 clothing, these items are under priced. And in comparison to shopping at your regular department store, the prices are very good here. Consider this: these items are unique and irreplaceable.

So yeah, I discovered that Retro Metro, one of my favorite little gift shops, in Frederick had moved like almost everything now-a-days online. So the the thing is, I can't tell you what I got cause it's being shipped right now, and I don't want to ruin the surprise for that person. But it's this super cute thing that I know my friend will love. There are very few times I've walked into Retro Metro and haven't walked out with something adorable. And I feel that you get that same experience online. They just have the most unique, cute, fun gifts. ALSO, they have a NICE SIZE Maryland pride section with so much Maryland Flag Swag. Definitely worth browsing around. Perfect place for gifts for pretty much any occasion I can think of off the top of my head.

I've been wanting to check out this consignment shop for awhile now and finally decided to stop in…read moreover the past weekend. First, I absolutely love the name. I love play on words like that. The gentleman working inside was very welcoming and social. The whole star was 50% off that day, which my addicted to shopping mind said "SCORE!" All the items in the shop were in good shape and I saw many that still had tags. Prices matched what I would expect for consignment. But, unfortunately, nothing peaked my interest. I felt that all the styles were too old or too young for me. I kept an eye out for any high fashion labels but they evaded me. I'd shuffle through again, though!

The location was very easy to find, a bit off the beaten path, but such a pretty drive. It is located in a converted house, so make sure you are aware that it is not a store front. First off, they put a rack right outside with great summer options! I had a handful of items before I even went inside! Upon entering, the very nice cashier greeted me and asked if this was my first time here. Since it was, she immediately got up to show me around! Nice touch. On the first floor they have maternity and LOTS of baby clothes/toys/books/baby gear. Before heading upstairs, they have some junior sized dresses, both formalwear as well as regular summer dresses. Upstairs, they have everything else. Boys clothes/shoes (toddler to teens) as well as a huge section for the girls, again from toddler to teen sizes. The shoe selection could have been better, but that's ok. All the clothes were in great condition, great name brands. I always like finding Justice brands, as I never shop in the store because of their outrageous prices. So finding items for a few bucks including some shoes (found a pair of sandals for $7, I know they cost about $30 in the store) was a great find! For my teenager, they had LOTS of shorts, I'll have to go back to have her pick out more, before it gets hotter and they all fly off the shelves. When I was done (believe me, I had to control myself from grabbing more), I got two bags full of stuff and only spent $100! I couldn't have walked out of Justice with two outfits for $100, so this was a huge win for me! So if you like great clothes for a bargain, go check this place out. You won't regret it. Make sure you ask for coupons, I got a 20% off coupon for my next visit, which I will be using to buy my daughter a formal dress for the 8th grade dance. Also, they are having a $50 gift card giveaway for referring a friend.
