And although you say you accept new and gently used items, sometimes a volunteer wants to cherry pick. Everything is always carefully packed and protected as necessary, and we're not going to unpack and repack boxes at someone's whim, and then find somewhere else for items not taken. After many years donating to a variety of nonprofit thrift shops, and sadly our favorite one shutting down, we're giving up on the Treasure Hound. We have not had similar problems with any other shop. It makes us sad because we prefer to support a group like yours that helps animals.

You can tell this is a reasonably happy workplace, unlike the laughable circus some of us work for. Thrift store fans enjoy this place. To me it's a place, but haven't found a lot of what I've sought to find. Does this mean it's awful? Absolutely not. Am quite picky everything from clothing, to just about anything. Much credit to them on their competitive prices. They are far better than most thrift stores. If this is a hobby for you, this will be enjoyable for sure.

10/6/21 On 10/2/21 I happened to be in Vienna Virginia to…read morebuy some oatmeal raisin cookies from Great Harvest.   Upon my arrival I saw Vienna was celebrating the month of Halloween.   I need up looking around and came across this store.   The name of the store caught my attention. For some reason I now see Bill Skarsgard doing his strange dance while looking at the name of the store. The store had some interesting stuff, but nothing I really needed. I did come across a paracord bracelet,  but did not buy it.  The color wasn't one I was to found of.    Still, the one thing that did get my attention was the picture of the gymnastics girl.  I couldn't tell if it was Shannon Miller, Nastia Liukin or someone else all together. Kerri Strug also comes to mind, but it all depends on what year the picture was done of her. Many because of the long blond hair.  The price for the picture was good, but I just wasn't up for buying it and then not haning it up, because of the wife not liking it.    Still, the business has a relationship with a near by Church and part of the profits or all of the profits go to the church.     The place was busy, but I am sure I will be back to check them out again  As the saying goes, "one person's trash is another one's treasure."   I shall return.

He recommended other repair stores but why have a support area if you won't even bother trying to diagnose an issue much less fix it? No pricing on any packaging was also weird but they do have a website that's mostly usable. Cashiers can also check prices and stock for you. I ended up buying a few games just so I didn't go out there for nothing but was pretty disappointed based on the services offered on the website. We came here to get our Switch's charging port repaired. They were super friendly and much more affordable than other bigger franchises doing repairs in the area. There is a shortage of repair techs in the area, we were quoted a month for the repair which was the same as the other shops. Regardless, our repair was completed and at least 30% cheaper than the competitors. The shop is huge and had so much fun merch, my sons and husband were loving exploring their huge selection of games, while I was checking out their kawaii hello kitty plushies and caps. Every section is labeled very clearly, easy to find the section(s) you are looking for. I love that! They are constantly adding more items so there are employees everywhere with carts of new items. I love that too! Always fun to go through the carts with items no one else has seen on the shelves yet. BUT ... the 3/5 stars is because of the pricing. Prices were often found to be unrealistic, very inconsistent, and not your typical thrift store pricing on many items. Now, I did not go through the clothing or shoe section, so I cannot speak for that area, which is predominately what this store has. I was in the "collectibles," glass, kitchen, toys, home goods, etc sections. A Longaberger basket for $30? It was medium size, no liner, no protector, excessive wear, nails were bleeding. It would not even resale in that condition for that much. A collectible vase for $30? It was large, beautiful, definitely name brand and likely very expensive when brand new or in used mint condition. The flowers on the sides were broken, unrepairable. There was fading, chips, and large crack on the bottom. A Longaberger small pitcher for $15? Okay, that seems okay, but in looking at the resale, it goes for maybe $20. The ROI is not good on this one. The pitcher was in mint condition. If you were buying to keep and use it would be a decent price. A marble round riser or cheese platter, small size, for $4.49? Okay, good price, or so I thought. When I turned this product over I found a sticker price tag from Ross for $3.99. WHAT? $2 discrepancy for the same exact item in the same condition. $15 ... $9 ... $3 ... same product, varying sizes (smallest was mid priced), all good condition. I could go on and on and could have taken more pictures, but I would have spent my whole time do this. I asked the lady helping folks at self checkout who prices items. She said "The people in the back, but this is the #1 complaint I hear ... the pricing." Now, I will say, I am 90% a reseller, but I also gift, source for friends, and keep items I find. Historically, thrift stores help the community to afford items for a cheaper price. They also keep things out of landfills. I found a few items at Unique at reasonable prices, so I did not come up completely empty handed! The biggest criticism I have about this place, as well as sister stores like 2ndAve, is the inconsistent pricing and often high pricing for items that are not even okay used.

They have tons and tons of clothing racks! I found some real gems in including a 100% linen shirt and three pairs of shorts. Each item is priced differently and the items are sorted by category and size. These thrift stores give you a 20% off coupon if you donate something. They also have 25% discount days on Mondays and Thursdays, so those days are pretty busy.

They've given away the majority of the clothes by now. Their reason was that they weren't profiting in sales. Now, the warehouse has a more open layout. The first warehouse sells housewares that's ridiculously overpriced. Depending on the day, they'll have a market down sale according to the color of the price tag. Like yellow tags are 50% off. It was still expensive, and I was looking for a rice cooker to no avail. I saw a used Hamilton Beach crock pot for $30?!! No sales, like that's pretty steep, despite that someone donated and its used! The majority of staff are nice and helpful. I'm just disappointed that they don't do clothes anymore, and don't like their mark up tactics. Best time to shop here is follow them on IG, see which color tag is on sale, and shop.
