I'm back again with an update to rating this Goodwill. Unfortunately, it's gone from one of my favorite locations to a spot I probably won't visit in the future. It's become a donation drop off hub plus art/books center. The thing is, they accept fewer kinds of donations than other Goodwills. I came by with a small shelf (small enough to fit in a regular car and for one person to carry) and was turned away. I was told they don't take furniture, and that I should instead go to the Seven Corners location--except that store has a sign saying they don't take any donations. I was also told I couldn't use the dumpster on property to dispose of it. I don't know why this location bills itself as a primary donation center if they can't take things that are accepted at other Goodwills. It makes me wonder what else might not be accepted here. I'll just bring things to a different drop off in the future, or I'll donate to another organization. I'm not interested in shopping for media at Goodwill. I'd rather go to a curated music store, the library, or a bookstore--places where employees can help me find what I'm looking for. So I don't see myself choosing to shop or donate at this location moving forward.

9/8/22 On 9/4/22 my wife had clothing and fashon accessories to donate. We stopped by the Goodwill Store to get rid of the merchandise my wife had, but also checkout the store itself. Well unfortunately, The Goodwill Of Greater ( as the name is now called) in Falls Church is no longer an actual store. It seriously a shadow of its former self. Movies which were mostly DVD versions, paintings and some toys were all that were left in the store. Speaking of store, the new entrance has you going to the left once you walk through the doors. Blue curtains block you from seeing the rest of the store. Why curtains? Well to answer this question, you should know this store has become strictly a donation center. Once the leftover merchandise is sold, customers won't be able to go into the store. All stuff donated at this store will be sent to other stores. A woman I call Gertrude explained the change to us at this store. Oh, well. Now I know something I did not know since the last time I was here.

During my trip to Springfield VA from PA I tried to hit up as many thrift stores as I could that were in the area. This is one that made the cut and probably one of my favorites of all I visited that day. The outside is very modern and has a mid century kind of feel. Inside the space was clean, with higher ended items by the doors within a glance of the centrally located circular check outs. As I reseller I headed straight for the housewares which was currently being stocked. I found several pieces I liked but the prices were higher than I'm used to and ultimately I left them behind due to slim profit margins. Many pieces were not priced and I had to get one of the floor employees to price it for me. Housewares were loosely arranged by color, with better items on the endcaps. Linens had a pricing system I never saw before except in this general area of Maryland/VA and are based on size. Each size is a different color and you have to refer to the chart at the end of the isle for pricing. Clothing was also higher priced and had a similar pricing system only it was based on item. I did buy several pieces I liked for myself, trying them on over my clothes as dressing rooms in this area are still closed. I did feel the racks were organized and their sorting process on point as I didn't see anything damaged. Something you don't see too often was a small section dedicated to the needs of the elderly with walkers, canes, equipment, and even wheel chairs (priced as $49) Upon entry there's a sign indicating what color tags are on sale. Do be sure to take note of it when entering however I struggled to find any inventory with that tag color. This is a nice Goodwill, much cleaner than others, and appears to be recently built or recently remodeled. I'd definitely add this to my list next time I'm in town.

I'd been stopping in here for several years off and on, and always found the place to be one of the better thrift spots in the area. Unfortunately that has changed and along with only being an "art and book" store these days, loud/hazardous drywall work was being performed during business hours and the pricing is out of control. You're much better off spending your valuable time elsewhere.

there's only a small area you can go to for books. not like the thrift store it used to be.

Tiny store - books only, and a few knock knacks. Nice quality books and good prices. Just very small a limited items.

No clothes, housewares or furniture. If you only want to shop for books, puzzles, games & artwork then this is your place.

I like this store -- clean, easy to donate, and easy to park. When I called with questions, the staff were helpful in answering them.

This was my first time to a Unique Thrift Store. All the reviews were great, so I had to check out…read morethis place. The place is very well organized. Every section is labeled very clearly, easy to find the section(s) you are looking for. I love that! They are constantly adding more items so there are employees everywhere with carts of new items. I love that too! Always fun to go through the carts with items no one else has seen on the shelves yet. BUT ... the 3/5 stars is because of the pricing. Prices were often found to be unrealistic, very inconsistent, and not your typical thrift store pricing on many items. Now, I did not go through the clothing or shoe section, so I cannot speak for that area, which is predominately what this store has. I was in the "collectibles," glass, kitchen, toys, home goods, etc sections. A Longaberger basket for $30? It was medium size, no liner, no protector, excessive wear, nails were bleeding. It would not even resale in that condition for that much. A collectible vase for $30? It was large, beautiful, definitely name brand and likely very expensive when brand new or in used mint condition. The flowers on the sides were broken, unrepairable. There was fading, chips, and large crack on the bottom. A Longaberger small pitcher for $15? Okay, that seems okay, but in looking at the resale, it goes for maybe $20. The ROI is not good on this one. The pitcher was in mint condition. If you were buying to keep and use it would be a decent price. A marble round riser or cheese platter, small size, for $4.49? Okay, good price, or so I thought. When I turned this product over I found a sticker price tag from Ross for $3.99. WHAT? $2 discrepancy for the same exact item in the same condition. $15 ... $9 ... $3 ... same product, varying sizes (smallest was mid priced), all good condition. I could go on and on and could have taken more pictures, but I would have spent my whole time do this. I asked the lady helping folks at self checkout who prices items. She said "The people in the back, but this is the #1 complaint I hear ... the pricing." Now, I will say, I am 90% a reseller, but I also gift, source for friends, and keep items I find. Historically, thrift stores help the community to afford items for a cheaper price. They also keep things out of landfills. I found a few items at Unique at reasonable prices, so I did not come up completely empty handed! The biggest criticism I have about this place, as well as sister stores like 2ndAve, is the inconsistent pricing and often high pricing for items that are not even okay used.

This is one of the best thrift stores I've been to in a long time! I'm a big Unique Thrift fan…read morealready but holy cow this was great! They have a huge shoe/ jewelry/ bag/ accessories section right when you walk in that is amazing! It's really well organized and the largest accessories section I've seen at a Unique Thrift. They have tons and tons of clothing racks! I found some real gems in including a 100% linen shirt and three pairs of shorts. Each item is priced differently and the items are sorted by category and size. These thrift stores give you a 20% off coupon if you donate something. They also have 25% discount days on Mondays and Thursdays, so those days are pretty busy.
