I have always enjoyed Goodwill I appreciate their protocol but I was harassed with my small toddler that was behaving and holding my hand we have difficulties getting him to wear a mask and I understand but he is a very small child I myself have a compromised immune system and I did not appreciate being ganged up on and bullied instead of them being kind and trying to explain to my son they had three people get within 1 foot maybe even 6 inches from my face and proceeded to surround us to huddle us toward the exit when we were already leaving and talked harshly instead of considerately at me about not wearing a mask which I was wearing a mask but my son is a toddlerHe was holding my hand the whole time and the people were not even considering social distancing themselves in the manner that they handled the situation was inconsiderate and harsh and made me uncomfortable and have an anxiety attack because they were with a foot or soo instead of 6 - 10 feet read more

Unbelievably great customer service. I've been going into this store on a regular basis since it open some years back, and I have never encountered anything but friendly kind caring people to customers and co workers. The store is always clean and a great effort is made to keep it that way. Organized and stocked makes it easy for me to go straight to the sections I love. I often see the toy section messy since lots of children frequent the store, but then I also see it constantly being reorganized. I have an eBay store and live one block so Its not unusual for me to visit the store may two or even three times a day. I have been tow many Goodwill stores and the Chico store by far is at the very top of my list for the best customer service ...the friendlies staff and the cleanest organized store ever. I have to agree with most other reviewers. I've been to Goodwill stores in several different states and areas and this one is way overpriced. $4 for drinking class? Electronics are untested and even the testing area is down right now. And the store is so filthy. We got here right after the store opened today and the store isn't swept, and the men's room is filthy and disgusting. We used to live in Idaho, and the Goodwill stores where we used to live at would offer a 7-Day return policy. This one doesn't seem to have any sort of return policy. Very off-putting. Did I mention how filthy the store is at 9:05 a.m.? The store opens at 9 o'clock. On top of that about 2 weeks ago I had a big donation to drop off. I was at the donation door ringing the bell for at least 10 minutes. People in the store room area saw me and just walked the other way. I had to come into the store to the front counter after parking my car and let them know I had a donation. Even then it took another five minutes for someone to come to the donation area. You do find little gems here and there but the place is pretty much a disaster. And they take magic marker and write prices on their items instead of putting price stickers on most of their items. read more

This place is tight. If you buy something that doesn't work you can take it back within 24 hours for cash refund. They have sales every week as well. Employees are really friendly. read more

goodwill doesn't care about you or there employees, they are corporate scum. I told the manager he's going to get a bad review on yelp and he laughed at me, he knows my negative review won't take down this giant. Anyway bought a camelback for my 2 year old, donated 2 dollars to there worker education program and as i was 3 steps away from the counter I took out the bladder and there was no lid to the camelback. I didn't even leave the store i was 3 feet from the cash register but unfortunately all sales are final. Beware they are stocking items that don't work and its your problem not theres. read more

This location has zero customer service. I went in to buy winter clothes for the kids and when we got to the register a pair of pants didn't have a price tag. They said the pricers have all gone home and they couldn't sell it without a price. I said ok set then set them aside and have them price them in the morning and I'll come back for them. They told me they can't hold any items for anyone as it is against their policy. So if I want them I have to just come back and hope to find them again on the floor. The person in charge at that time was completely unhelpful as he was not empowered by management to offer any form of problem resolution. It was just 'sorry bout your luck there's nothing I can do to help you or I'll get in trouble' essentially. I spoke to store manager and the pricers the next morning and tried to find them and of course the pants just disappeared and nobody remembered pricing them just recently and was told they're either in a huge bin somewhere or already been sold. How'd I know that was exactly what was going to happen the night before? Absolutely no customer service at all. And the manager had the audacity to tell me 'yes, we do have customer service'. That is extremely insulting to be told that like 'oh we do, just not for you and your ridiculous requests to solve a problem that was no fault of your own.' I spend 100's of dollars at thriftstores and I will be sure to spend that at every thriftstore in town but this one. I won't miss their ridiculously high prices anyway. Horrible pricing! Beat up falling apart items, and broken items were priced far above retail new prices. They wanted $4.50 for a lil cheap 3ft. extension cord that I buy at Walmart and dollar tree for 1.00 all day long. They wanted 13.10 for a purse with holes and the leather falling off and cheap brand. They wanted 15.00 for beat up shoes that are scratched up and soles thrashed out etc. unbelievable. Most of the shoes were cheap brands that were being sold for what they sold for new. Unbelievable. They had several art sets that are cheap like kid sets that are from Walmart and under ten dollars new and they priced them at 6.10 and most items were broken, missing or all the way used up in the kits. Thrashed to heck. Not worth a quarter used and that's a joke. All the kits were like this. Yuck! I can go on and on all day long. This place needs new management and if they priced stuff right they would sell way more stuff and not have the place overrun with junk all over the place. It's horrible in there. Fix it so you make money and help people too. It's rediculous. I'm not going back until it changes. It's a rip off!!!!! I would have given zero stars if possible!!!!! read more

Hit or miss. How much clothing can you cram on the racks? And how crappy can they be for being so expensive. Also the screaming children are a pleasant bonus. Sometimes you can find nice stuff though if you are willing to endure the things I mentioned above. Or not. read more

The good will is very fun to look through if you're not buying clothing items. Clothes are so over priced here, it's silly. But, you can find those good little jems that we all dig for. Always new stuff at least every day, but the store is almost always a mess in the sections, and tends to be a little over crowded with just junk. Customer service is kinda crappy. Big store, a lot of merchandise. Some good, some not. Most average priced but a lot just too expensive for the clients. They ask for money for their training program but I thought this was the whole idea of the donated items. This place puts out a lot of product and it is said to be privately owned so someone has to get the manifest of what money goes where. That goes for all the other thrift and fundraising stores. Open the books and justify the prices. Good place once in a while for resellers and dealers. Three of five is right. read more

We have been here almost every other week since this store has been open and usually walk out with something! I have found a lot of clothes for my kids here that are in like new condition for great prices some just $1.99..which to me, is awesome! We've bought video game controllers (new in the package and used ones) for just a few dollars and haven't had a problem with them. Comparing this store to the Salvation Army's in Chico, I would recommend Goodwill. I like how their donations/inventory are distributed to all their stores so you get things from places other than Chico, which is nice. I do think that their employees need to be more careful when stocking, it sounds like they are always breaking things, which is a little aggravating. I do think that they need a return policy for everything in the store, not just electronics. All in All, I think it's a store to definitely check out. read more
