It is a little off the beaten path for visitors staying downtown, but the food and classic atmosphere made it worthwhile. My partner ordered the Superdawg and really liked it, especially the bun. There were two dozen stalls in which you could pull in your vehicle and use an intercom box with the menu printed on the side to transmit your order. A worker would then bring the food/drink to your parking space and use a handheld device to swipe your credit card. Alternatively, you could do what I did which was park and then walk up to a service window and order from there. Adjacent to the service window was a door that led to a room with countertop seating which served as a dine-in area. There were also a few canopied tables on the sidewalk at the edge of the parking lot. Their Chicago-style hot dogs were the featured products, however most of the menu was made up of other fare like fish/shrimp sandwiches, burgers, grilled cheese, chicken tenders, french fries, shakes, malts, sundaes, cones, etc. The price for the namesake Superdawg was now a whopping $9.30! I ordered one of those that consisted of a cardboard box packed with a poppy seed bun containing a pure beef hot dog dressed with all the trimmings. Those ingredients were golden mustard, tangy piccalilli, a kosher dill pickle, chopped Spanish onions and a hot pepper. Included in the box was Superfries which were extra crispy crinkle cut french fries. I also purchased a regular size Mellow Vanilla Supershake. I took a seat at a countertop inside the dine-in area which had only customer when I walked in. As I opened my box, it was packed so tightly that you couldn't even tell there was a hot dog inside (see my photo). The Superfries lined the top while the pickle and sport peppers also surrounded the poppy seed bun. I finished the fries first that I felt were overdone. The hot dog was normal size with a good snap to the frank. The neon green relish was unique as the bright color stood out. For a hot dog and a measly amount of fries, the cost felt high in my opinion. That being said, I didn't try a similar combo at any other spots around town for comparison. The vanilla milkshake was thick and creamy and the best part of my order. I gave a three star rating for my dining experience at Superdawg.

The prices here are very reasonable. I didn't experience sticker shock when I glanced at the menu. The restaurant pays tribute to the soda shops of 70 years ago. I was amazed to discover that it was bursting with fresh cut fries just like another establishment called Gene & Jude's. The onions and the sweet peppers that came separately gave the Polish, which I believed was charred, a tangy touch. Regarding the fries, there was so much that I was done with the Polish first. I'm kicking myself because I thought I took a picture of the meal, but failed to do so. Apologies for that. Sadly, I must move on to the negative that prompted me to rate the place three stars. I didn't appreciate the attitude of the woman who took my order. On top of that, she apparently had a poor grasp of the English language. But still, if you have to have a nicely cooked tube steak, bring yourselves to Rand. I could envision myself returning so as long as the same woman isn't at the counter.

It looks like one of those restaurants without an appeal of the design used to draw in customers, but a place that makes decent food. Now what I didn't know, is that I would turn out more surprised than I thought. When inside, I look around the place to find red cushioned booths with nice clean table tops on one side, and some chairs and tables for customers who want to sit and enjoy a different atmosphere. The place felt good, it felt like a warm welcoming place with a very nice owner that turns out Greek and his restaurant is mostly family ran. As I continue to get closer to the counter, I noticed the displays they had for some of their food and even visuals of other foods before you make up your mind. With a short conversation, I end up making my decision with buying a Gyros sandwich. With a total of $6.00, I figured the price for it wasn't bad, it looked nice and meaty with a rich coat of cucumber sauce and a slice of tomato and onions on top. Hoping that my $6 investment turns out well, I stagger to my seat hungry as a dog by the booth and start gobbling. As I take my bites, I noticed that the sandwich fit nice and firm in my hand without making as much of a mess a gyro sandwich would make. Bite after bite, my taste buds tingle with sensation as I find the slices of gyros were a nice length and weren't underdone or dry. The taste was just right, it satisfied my craving for gyros but still had me craving for seconds, not bad for a little sandwich. As I proceed to throw away the trash, I look back at the menu to graze through and prepare for my next visit. The prices aren't bad for selections of food, with the plates and appetizers a meal would end up costing about $12 max. When it comes to dessert, it gets a little expensive, with a 48 piece batch of baklava was $50! Aside the food, entertainment is also an option when eating at the restaurant, a few TVs scattered around the place made sure either sports or news was going on. Watching TV can never go wrong with an afternoon dine and dash after a long day of work or school. With a minor few scratches and dents, overall the restaurant really shines out when you get to experience it. I guarantee you will be coming back for more food and conversations with the owner. With my decision made up, I really like Goodi's restaurant. It gave me a sense that I'm paying with the right cost without the side of public appeal or gimmicks. Out of a four star rating I would give Goodi's a three out of four as it really tasted good. I am a man of my taste buds, and I am hard to please with foods but Goodi's has definitely taken care of me and I appreciate it. Love Love Love this place!!! Makes the best chicken soups! I usually order grilled chicken salad, chicken kabob, pastichio (greek lasana), ribs, or half chicken, which are all really good! Portions are huge, so you never leave and feel like you didn't get enough which is great! Everything is made to order and theres no frozen foods which is what I think makes everything so tasty!! When it gets really busy you have to wait a bit, but it's definately worth waiting for! Some reviews have said the food is bland, which isn't true. I'll admit that there are some things that may need a little salt, such as the rice and fries, but I think that's just a matter of personal taste. I would much rather add my own salt than have a place cover up the flavor of the food with salt. It's family owned and run, and everyone is really friendly which is nice because it makes for a super comfortable environment, and in the summer time they have the nicest patio thats lit up with lights :) It's nice to see the family working together, makes you feel like the food is made with love and makes you want to come back and give them business! There's been a couple people in front who have been rude before, but when I've come back and told the owners they have been more than accomodating and always try to make up for it. Dear Goodi's owners, you are rude, rude, rude owners. You don't appreciate our business after many loyal years and you take out your personal problems with each other on your customers. We saw you bickering with each other behind the register and it's not our fault you messed up the order, can't run your own gift card machine and fight over who gets to use the smiley face loyalty punch card stamp. You have no concept of customer service. After many years as a customer I will no longer be a patron. Guess what Goodi's...there are many restaurants just waiting for you to keep up the mediocre customer service so they can welcome your past and current customers with open arms. Oh, and your slot machines you installed to make more money...there are a ton of them all around giving incentives away to lure customers in their doors and bending over backwards to make sure they are a repeat customer. It only takes one bad experience to lose a customer for good...today was ours. read more

You can't beat Goodi's. In a world of chain restaurants, Goodi's is a family owned and operated rarity. The menu was pretty extensive: gyros, half and whole greek chicken, greek salads, spinach pies, seafood, sandwiches, greek and american desserts. Me and my friends were all happy with what we ordered: Rib tip dinner, bbq chicken, and chicken kabob dinner. Everyone's dinner was definitely big enough to split, fresh and cooked to order. My chicken kabob was tender, white meat served with delicious homemade tasting rice, hot pita bread, and taziki sauce. The restaurant also has two large TVs inside which was nice to watch while we ate. It was a very friendly, laid-back atmosphere. All in all, I am definitely going back to Goodi's. They have a sweet outdoor seating area which I'm going to hit up for a pitcher of beer when it gets warmer out . The best bang for your buck for sure!!!! read more

I can't say I have ever left this place unhappy. From the first time I entered this restaurant until now the food and service has always been the same; EXCELLENT! It's a family owned establishment that cares greatly about customer service. I'm not going to name any names, but other fast food places that I have went to do not compare in quality or service. Sometimes it almost feels as if I owe them something by going there. However the Goodis staff never rushes you, will always take your order with a smile, and when the food comes its pure euphoria. As far as how long they take, your not buying a big mac so expect to wait about 10 min. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. read more

Growing up in the area, Goodi's was a common dietary staple for me. The food here is amazing and the staff are super friendly and welcoming at all times. This is THE place to go for gyros or cheeseburgers and hotdogs. The beef and pork kabobs are amazing and when served on a bed of rice with feta and some hot peppers, its mothers milk. now when you really wanna splurge, the ribs are the way to go. this place is great. Hands down the BEST Greek chicken and Greek salad I've ever had. We always use Goodi's when we need large catering orders, which is quite often. We have never had a mistake and the food is consistently DELICIOUS! We get raving reviews from all of our clientele during our meetings. But the kids were really chill about it and started to make the gyros instantly when they realized thats what I wanted. A greek gyro is unlike any other. Thin strips, perfectly placed into the pita. Sauce was over all the strips not just the top. Fries looked to be the frozen kind(still fried perfectly tho) but they complemented the sandwich just right. All in all, great place and the restaurant itself was SUPER clean. I would just recommend not to repeat the combo # to customer to confirm what they want since some people may not know the difference between a #1 and a #10. Either way I recommend.

Not very salty which worked well with the flavorful gyros so I didn't need to add any salt. The pita was warm and soft. The gyros are the best I've had at this kind of fast food place. A touch greasier than sit down places like Pistaria, but not as greasy as I'd expected. Nicely browned and perfectly seasoned. The onions were crunchy and fresh. Tomatoes - well, I'm picky about tomatoes and tend to only like them in August when they're in season. These were fresh but mealy. It's that time of year and hard to fault Nicks for that. Baklava was a huge piece for the price and shockingly moist. It didn't taste exactly as I expected. A little softer than the flaky perfection I've had elsewhere. Probably not made fresh that day although somehow still quite moist. Lots of honey flavor but I wonder if some other sugar might have been mixed with the honey ? Or maybe just not as fresh. If you have a hankering for baklava, this would work. But otherwise I'd skip it and stick to the fries and gyros.

Disappointing, especially for the price. Three and a half stars for the food, minus one and a half for the price, and demanding a tip for ringing up my order.
