I go to Goodi's as a regular customer. I love their grilled chicken breast on pita sandwiches. Lots of grilled chicken on each sandwich. Very Yummy. I also get the grilled Tilapi fish dinner with brown rice. Also very Yummy. And if you want a cheap beer you can get unlimited 99 cent Beers in a frosted mug glass with the purchase of any meal!! I had a craving for a thick chocolate milk shake with a burger and fries. The delivery has on time. That's the good part. Although the burger was tasty, the condiments were skimpy and the burger was cold. The milk shake was so thin that it resembled chocolate milk than a shake. we carried out from Goodi's and received generous portions, very fresh and hot. The spanakopita was very authentic, made with homemade phyllo dough -- it was delicious! Like YDK, I remember this as Fluky's, when we were in high school and would come here for the impromptu classic car show every Friday night during the summer. Over the winter one year, Fluky's went bye-bye and along came the new owners, which were very clear about not wanting the car show to continue. Losing one of the few halfway decent forms of entertainment my hoodlum friends and I had that didn't cost any money, I boycotted the place. This was probably around 1995. Fast forward to December, 2008. I forgot about my boycott (old age) and we stopped in here to get a snack. The lady working the counter was a stitch! She joked around with us while we figured out what we wanted, and when I said that I didn't need fries; I'd just have some of my girlfriend's. She turned to her and said, "Don't let him take your fries! Maybe one. Put salt all over it so he won't want any more!" You probably had to be there, but she was a lot of fun. All i have to say is Chicken Kabob!! By far the best chicken kabob in the area. I've tried chicken kabob's at many greek fast food restaurants in the area (dengeos, hubs, east/west of edens) and this is BY FAR the best and cheapest!! In regards to other food, it's hard for me to comment as I've never really ordered anything else from there. However, from what I've seen their other items look very appetizing as well -- I just prefer chicken. By far the worst I've ever eaten. I ordered chicken gyro well done and it was delivered raw. The OWNER called me to argue that I was wrong. I grew up on eating Greek food and the color of this was uncooked. It's a shame that the owner couldn't of called to apologize rather than to argue with me. Goodi's is delicious! Definitely 5 stars. To begin with this restaurant is located in Niles, very spacious and casual cozy restaurant. They have a very large menu at a very good price. The family that owns Goodi's is always around, they treat everyone so nicely and genuinely care for their customers. The staff is unbelievably friendly, they all take the time to make sure they know your order correctly, conversate in the meantime, and take care of your order. It's ready within 10-15 minutes, soemtimes even less. The food is beyond delicious! I love their homemade tziki sauce. They present their food very nicely and give a good (medium/large) serving size, I can barely finish the whole thing. The chicken kabob was absolutely delicious. The typical Greek/gyro fast food place with above average food and slow service. Everything except salads seems to be made to order. Their chicken is so good that it does not need any kind of condiments or sauces on it. The chicken kabobs are amazing and the Gyro very tender. The baklava was sweet and moist. I found a piece of hair in the soup and was trying to be discreet about it and take it up to the counter, I spoke to them in Greek informing them of my findings so the other customers did not understand... I place an order to go and got 3 chicken kabobs They were very dry and tasted nasty. I've never seen a restaurant that covered there rice with Greek potatoes in a paper foil rap . Good skirt steak sandwiches. Gave 4 stars bc I was a bigger fan of previous owners re: customer service. Would have given 5 w/ old skirt steak previous owners put out, but this one's not bad - just almost no bbq sauce, and after seeing the owner get visibly upset at some friendly advice to start accepting Amex, and watch as he vents to all of his employees in the back about it, I was afraid to ask for the sauce. Soo..We argued, needlessly, over their inability to accept Amex. I simply told them some people may not come back and the owner got bent out of shape. If he reads this, I suggest he reads this very relevant link I'm providing and consider himself lucky that I gave it 4 stars. I am genuinely not going back, though.. Not because of them not taking Amex, but because the owner should put someone in charge with customer service skills and a bigger brain for business. We found out they were under new ownership and we decided to go. I loved bar-b-que chicken so I ordered that, & it was good-but there was very little chicken, and what was there was, old, cold and tough (Where's the beef?) such a stingy portion! -also, my baked potato was as old as Moses, and hard too. My husband ordered Gyros and it was a 4- on a 1 to 10 scale. The owner is cold and seems more interested in wiping his new granite counter top than his customers. I've been to a ton of Greek carry-out restaurants in both the city and suburbs, but Goodi's is by far the best. I was the most impressed with how incrediblely clean the restaurant was inside, and by the huge portions of really high-quality food you get for a cheap price. Everything is fresh and cooked to order, so while you do have to wait 5 minutes for your order to be ready its a small price to pay to have your food served to you hot off the grill. I loved their lentil soup so much I asked how it was made, and was pleasantly suprised to learn that it was homemade and cooked that morning. The chicken kabob was a huge portion of juicy chunks of chicken breast and grilled onions, Greek rice, hot pita bread, and yummy white taziki sauce. There are free refills on drinks and a huge outdoor patio area as well. All in all, Goodi's is a complete hidden gem in Niles and the surrounding areas.
