I wanted to order one thing from each section just so I can have a little taste. I ended up ordering the chicken fried steak with a biscuit because you gotta have the biscuit! My mom ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken fried steak was enormous! I only ate a little more than a 1/4 of it and took the rest home. The gravy was really delicious. It wasn't salty and there was so much flavor. Of course I dipped my biscuit in it too. Biscuit was also humongous. I finished half of it. I didn't get to try my mom's chicken and waffles but she said she really liked it. She also didn't finish it so we took it back to the hotel. Thankfully we had a fridge and a microwave to store and heat it all up. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd definitely come back and try some other stuff. I'm sure everything else is delectable also!

We changed the order. Then the group next us - who came in 20 minutes after us and ordered after us all got served their pizzas(including a few potato pizzas). While we waited and was not served. Finally realizing that our diverse group of 5 was being shafted for the very non-diverse group of 8 we asked for our pizzas to go and we left. So if the intention of Il Lazzarone was to make us feel sidelined and "othered" - congratulations. Job well done. Because we left there being reminded of just how how bigotry feels.
