My only regret is eating the whole thing in one sitting - my body was not prepared for that much sugar!! Overall really great shop! Crown Donuts - Maple Valley, WA…read more I stopped in and grabbed a half dozen and honestly... every single one hit. What I picked: 3 blueberry cake donuts 2 Fruity Pebbles raised donuts with white icing 1 cinnamon sugar twist The verdict: The blueberry cake donuts were fantastic. Not dry. Not crumbly. Not overly sweet. Just soft, balanced, and exactly what a cake donut should be. The Fruity Pebbles raised donut with white icing though? Exceptional. Light, fluffy, perfectly iced, and nostalgic in the best way. The kind of donut where you take a bite and immediately look back at the box like... okay, who's next? The cinnamon sugar twist was classic and comforting. Fresh, generously coated, and exactly what you want from a simple donut done right. Bonus points: The atmosphere was great. Bright, welcoming, and unhurried. The short-term parking out front made popping in easy (and felt brand new ), and the staff were kind enough to let me look-e-loo for a minute while I stood there happily overwhelmed by the choices. If you're in Maple Valley and craving donuts that are actually worth the stop, Crown Donuts is absolutely it. No gimmicks. Just really good donuts made well. Nothing like a sweet treat after a 500 + burn workout to refuel. No one is looking. Eat more donuts.

I've been wanting to try this place & finally went today. They have a large selection of donuts +…read morecinnamon rolls and also offer savory options that you could heat up: breakfast burritos, sausage rolls, empanadas, etc. I ordered a classic maple bar and what I thought was a pistachio donut (I asked and the employee confirmed it was pistachio). When I got home it was actually a full on blueberry donut inside with green frosting on top. I'm not a fan of blueberry baked goods so that was disappointing. The empanada somewhat made up for it. I got the Chilean pino since that was the only flavor left. I had never heard of the flavor (and neither did the employee). It was delicious...but over toasted. Next time I will just heat up the empanada at home to avoid this. I would return for the empanadas. It would be nice if the donuts had signage for the flavors and/or if the employees were knowledgeable on what they are selling so customers like myself don't go home with mystery flavors!

On my first visit to Legendary Doughnuts I didn't know it was a chain and my experience inside…read morereinforced that standalone feel. Rather barebones space without elaborate displays. Utilitarian. A friendly greeting from behind the cases and a genuine readiness to help made me feel welcome. It was probably an advantage nobody other customers were around at that moment. At every donut shop I visit, I order a plain. Every place should get the classic right, so I was happy Legendary passed the test. It was not stellar but it checked the boxes. My second doughnut was one of the fancies, heavy on chocolate and "inspired by" Girl Scout thin mint cookies. It was a treat, literally. The doughnut itself was very good and the cookie was fairly accurate. Where this one went wrong was the frosting. It had a hint of mintiness but should have had more, but its downfall was the texture. An odd greasiness was off-putting on its own and was only partially disguised when munched with the donut proper. Still, I had no problem gradually plowing through the entire concoction. Knowing now that Legendary Doughnuts has multiple locations, I will gladly drop by any of them for another try. On the other hand, I wouldn't go out of my way just to patronize them. Time--and geography--will determine whether this relationship should continue.
