GBC is a cool, rustic place in historic Jacksonville. I stopped in for breakfast and coffee after a mountain bike ride at nearby Jacksonville/Britt Trails (great beg/inter XC singletrack). I had the biscuits and gravy with two eggs. The fluffy biscuits had a slightly sweet flavor which went well with the savory breakfast gravy. The latter was real breakfast gravy, not just some brown chicken dinner gravy with sausage added to repurpose it. The scrambled eggs were fresh and fluffy--I was so happy with this dish! House coffee was good as was the decaf latte I got to go for my wife. She said it was very good, no funky taste that's common with decaf espresso. By the way, the cashier and barista were happy with me paying for the latte with my dine-in meal then having it made once I was done eating. Great place, seems like a perfect place to stop mid road bike ride too. read more

The employees here are rude, arrogant, smart assed kids with no care about service. Food was undercooked 3 times. Finally asked for my money back, said they would credit my account as I used a debit card. Account was charged over the amount of breakfast, fraudulent to start with. As I was leaving the red haired boy employee was making rude comments and I asked if he was being a smart ass, he replied to me that yes , yes I am being a smart ass. Seriously wanted to choke him but not worth the raw $7.00 breakfast. Would not recommend this place to ANYONE EVER. RUDE smart assed kids read more

Good location in the beautiful town of Jacksonville, nice indoor area which is spacious and has a nice rustic feel. Based on reviews I was expecting a very good standard, especially when the business is advertising winning the best of Oregon award and beating Stumptown. However we were rather disappointed overall. While fine for a local coffee shop, we did not see how they could compare themselves with Stumptown or other such quality coffee shops. Lattes were very poor and the frothed milk was showing zero barista skill. It was a standard overheated Starbucks foam as opposed the the expected velvety milk, no attempt at "latte art" but that would have been impossible due to the quality of the foamed milk. Sorry guys, but if you are going to beat the drums for being the best in Oregon then you really need to step up read more

They lose a star for the manager commenting on my review with a childish narcissistic response. Instead of apologizing for poor service and screwed up orders, he responds by touting an award that's hardly outstanding! Lol I'll bet he still has his kindergarten kickball trophy displayed as well. I was forced to come here AGAIN by a client, have to say it again, treated rudely, long wait, and was not even what I ordered. Terrible service and way overpriced for being looked down at by some young left/liberal girl who did not care that the order she gave me was not even mine, they gave me someone else food. A favorite local spot, you might not find a close parking spot right in front, but don't worry, parking is plentiful in surrounding blocks (and you can walk off your pastry or yummy sandwich). You'd be hard pressed to find better coffee than Goodbean. I don't care what my girlfriend says -- she's wrong. The Goodbean Dream -- perfect flavor, perfect consistency and unlike most coffee places where you can't actually taste anything but the crummy coffee taste -- you can taste the hazelnut. And you don't get annoying caffeine headaches either. Not sure how they accomplish all this awesome. read more

This is some of the best coffee I've had since I've moved to the Rogue Valley. I always judge a coffee shop on their latte (quality of foam, taste of the espresso, ect) and I was not disappointed. It was creamy and smooth without the bitterness you often find at other places (such as the ever present Starbucks). They also have a variety of tasty edibles, more than the usual pastry fare that one usually finds in coffee shops. The building is super awesome; all wood flours and tall ceilings and generally a neat historic feel to the place. The staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely a great place to either grab your morning coffee or hang out on your laptop. read more

I usually don't enjoy doing this, but this situation calls for it. Nice atmosphere, good coffee (my wife told me) and absolutely zero customer service. Ordered a cappuccino, an egg nog latte and a carmel muffin. Got the muffin and I waited. And waited, waited and waited while other orders were filled... OK, went up to ask about it and was given a cursory apology with no offer to bring it to where I'm sitting. So I went back and... waited, waited, waited while the two baristas kept chatting away. Done. Went up to ask for a refund and a young woman (girl?) began searching through a tablet, then after awhile she asked me what I ordered and I told her. I told her it was a 12 ounce latte, she told me she had to take it off the receipt. I suggested she do that after she refunded me. She asked for my card and I told her I paid cash. She proceeded to tap around the tablet. She then took my change, tossed it on the counter without tendering an apology. Absolutely no training, courtesy or common sense. But my wife enjoyed her cappuccino and I'm really glad we're visiting. read more

Every time I'm in Jacksonville, my first stop is always at Good Bean. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I order the hot chocolate- rich and velvety, just the way it should be. There's a large selection of baked goods, bagels, and sandwiches if you're looking for a nosh and an extensive coffee menu for you caffeine junkies. This is a really great place to read, work, or just hang out. Local artists have their work on display on the walls and the shop provides books and games. It's just a really cool place that makes you feel welcome. There's usually a healthy crowd of people, but it never gets noisy. There are plenty of tables and a comfy couch. read more

Stopped in here to catch up with a couple of friends. Great place, friendly service, great coffee and food. There is a lot of seating inside, much more than most coffee shops. Updating. I ordered 2 coffees with room for cream. I said it loud and clear. 20 year old coffee guy or younger left an a sliver for cream. No where to dump coffees. Put in cream and Then the cheap cups fell apart and the coffee was WAY to hot and burned the hell out of my hands. It just seemed like that no one cares about cheap cups, way too hot of coffee and do not listen when customers are ordering. Come on make the coffee Less hot and spend some money better quality cups. Train staff. Told the manager and all she says was sorry maybe he did not hear you. I think maybe he doesn't drink coffee and has never been trained on what room for cream means. I even tipped them (I always do) before this happened. No offer to replace the coffee that spilled or free one next time. DrIp coffee costs pennies and they charge $2-3.00. This place is run by 20 something year olds and it shows. read more

The Good Bean Coffee Company is one of my favorite spots in Jacksonville. It's a great place to start your day when visiting the quaint, historic town. I'd agree with Jeff S., the lattes aren't that great, too sweet if you order a flavored one, yuck. So, I just stick with the house coffee and grab a few pounds of beans to take home with me. And yes, the staff is refreshingly very happy and bubbly. read more

I love this coffee place! Their coffee is delicious! My favorite is the Jacksonville Thrill (blended coffee) yum!!! Their food is surprisingly good too!
