Wonderful gem off the beaten path. We stayed overnight in our small RV on the estate grounds through Harvest Host. We tested wine, purchased some bottles and enjoyed the beautiful view of the valley from the hill top. This is a must stop for the historic quaint hill top mansion and gardens including wine tasting and cheese. The staff is very helpful and accommodating for our stay. You can also stay in one of their rooms in the estate. read more

My mother recommended this place after taking some out of town friends there. There is a long drive up to the main building and a gravel parking lot below. The grounds are beautiful. We found the entrance and walked into a beautiful old building. Reminded me of an English pub. We noticed one room had a painting class going on. We walked into the bar area and were greeted right away. Very friendly staff who asked what we were interested in. They offer both wine and beer. We ended up ordering both by the end of the visit. We decided to sit outside and enjoy some fresh air. We ordered the Spinach dip and a wine tasting. The dip was ok and the wines were good. While enjoying the wine a hummingbird landed close by. We then decided to try a flight of their beer. They were tasty. We would or the wine or beer next time. It is a relaxing place to enjoy some locally made products. read more

We came to check out their low-key octoberfest. The patio was filled with people tasting wine. Some people were dressed up, which I loved. As many of you know, I am far from fancy. I will eat a meal from a gas station. Of course, it has to be good, duh! The views are gorgeous. They have tables with gas fires. Everyone was beyond friendly!! If you're looking for some delicious wine with crazy beautiful views then look no further! The place was so pretty and the wine absolutely delicious. I did the flight and had a white Pinot noir for the first time! While I enjoyed their red Pinot even more I simply had to buy a few bottles of each. The only knock on this place was the slim pickings for food options. I did enjoy the charcuterie board as it was filled with yumminess. Did I mention the staff was simply awesome? They don't push the wine club hard and instead rely on the wine to do the selling for them. I really may become a member for sure. They do offer dinner and wines as event services (I'm booked for this Friday to try it for the first time). read more

Disappointed. The white wines were just dull. The Estate grown Pinot Noir was easily the best - but $45. We stayed for my big birthday. The room was a weird pasted together mess with a tiny shower and a bathroom door that bashes anyone at the sink in the back. Ouch! The only view from our room was from the toilet! The winery accepted several events on the same night, so it was noisy, the most beautiful areas were reserved and there was no privacy. This family winery is trying. So I wouldn't say don't come here but just for the better wines. They are trying to be everything to everyone - 20+ varieties, brewery, event venue and Bed and Breakfast. BTW, Hummingbird, take "breakfast " off your marketing materials. Kuerig coffee with pods from Costco, stale granola bars and 3-day old banana (??) bread is not breakfast. read more

Another amazing stay at the Hummingbird Estate. I have been a guest one to two times a year since they opened in 2019. We have referred many family and friends to this place and they all say the same things. It's a beautiful place, quiet, amazing rooms, wonder staff and so much more. Thats why we keep coming back year after year. This year I noticed so remodeling and furniture rearrangement and it looks better than ever. We recently stayed at this property in the Chardonnay room and were beyond impressed with everything. Megan was awesome!! She was the kindest and most helpful host. She was knowledgeable about their wines and gave great local dinner recommendations. The vineyard and the grounds were gorgeous. The terrace and outdoor seating area was nice with stunning views. The Chardonnay room was so cozy and nice. Very relaxing and peaceful. The wine and beer were delicious. If we had checked a bag for our flight home, we definitely would have taken home some wine. We really enjoyed it. The breakfast was very tasty. Hummingbird is not just the name of the place. We actually saw several cute hummingbirds there too. I highly recommend this place. Megan was the perfect host. It was a truly magical experience for us and a perfect way to end our Redwood and Crater Lake trip. This review is for lodging, not the tasting room. I never take pleasure in a negative review but here we are. Our stay was totally disappointing. Instructions for checkin came in at 4:43pm. Checkin was 3pm. When we arrived around 3:30pm, we called the number associated with the reservation because there was no checkin desk (in hindsight, we could have gone into the tasting room but why make my problem theirs?). The person who answered was very short with me and told me to "go back down the driveway" and look for the "white house". There are multiple "white houses" and some of them are marked "no trespassing". We figured it out, though. We rented the cottage. Apparently, unlike ANY of the other units on site, it did *not* include breakfast and did *not* include tastings. When I asked for clarification, they explained "the cottage is more AirBnB than B&B". Like an AirBnB, the kitchen is pretty well stocked with equipment. Which we didn't need. Still, I poked through all the drawers & cabinets. Again, lots of glasses, pots, pans, food storage, etc. Definite plus, if you need it. We didn't. The "coffe drawer" is a distaster and there's a chili oil in the condiments cabinet that's unsanitary. Also, unlike other units, we were asked to take out the trash. Huh? Again. I didn't book an AirBnB. I booked a B&B. Finally, while cottage is very comfortable and a lovely looking space, it's not very clean. Other people's hair were in both showers, under the shampoo, conditioner & soap bottles, on bath towels and pillow cases. Also, one bathroom had zero hand soap & the other bathroom's hand soap was in a drawer, messy & sticky with soap residue. Overall, just a very disappointing stay. :( read more

A beautiful, historic estate surrounded by lots of greenery, and of course, lots of grapevines. We arrived after the kitchen closed, but were able to enjoy a couple of their wine flights (very reasonably priced at $10-12). Pro tip: if you get the Estate flight (all reds) the Terrace flight (all whites), you will maximize your tastes by not doubling up on anything! We made sure we were able to catch breakfast here. Jess told us it's a favorite, and she did not lead us astray. We were greeted with freshly percolated coffee to wake us up. Each morning, the breakfast menu changes. After a mini fruit dish, we were served a sun-dried tomato feta scramble, sausage, and pumpkin spice coffee cake. I still can't decide which I enjoyed more: the scramble or the coffee cake. I was happy to have both a savory and a sweet that were so delicious, I polished off my entire plate. Nicely done, Chef Kristina! This was our third Harvest Host stay and we continue to be impressed by the warm welcomes from our hosts and the gorgeous locations. We stayed in spot 4 on top of the hill that had an amazing view of the vineyard, Medford, and the stars! read more

Updating review to 4 stars. It seems I had a corked bottle and I was a bit too quick to judge + hadn't logged into my yelp for a while. I appreciated the winery reaching out to offer a new bottle. Before seeing the message from the winery, I decided to give Hummingbird Estate a second chance. I went through Rogue Picnics to host a bridal shower here and it was lovely. Wine was good during that event and the atmosphere was perfect. The wine isn't the best I've ever had, but it checks the box. The atmosphere is really lovely and overall you'll have a good time here. read more

We found Hummingbird Estates through Harvest Host while looking for a place to camp in our van for the night. The staff were polite, friendly and so very accommodating. After they showed us where to park, we wandered down to the tasting room to sample the wines. In addition to wine, we also ordered the veggie/hummus plate and a loaf of French bread that has a beautiful crunchy crust and is paired with olive oil and balsamic. The French bread was so delicious, we ordered a second. Had a difficult time with the balsamic, as the container is a tad too deep when dipping the bread. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the views and chatted with other guests. Left with a couple/few bottles of wine and smiles on our faces. The part of the property where we camped out for the night is peaceful and quiet and overlooks the vines. Great stop on our adventure. read more

Hummingbird offers serene and scenic views of Medford and the Rogue Valley . We enjoyed sipping on wine and noshing on beautiful charcuterie boards while a light storm moved through. The staff just kept moving along as if they weren't dodging the rain. Showing up with a smile to take our orders. I went with the Vineyard Flight, which offers a couple good sips of four wine types. I liked all, except the Rose of Pinot, which was a bit too tart for my taste. Since wine is such personal opinion, I wouldn't let my thoughts sway anyone wanting to try this flight. The important thing is it's definitely enough to determine what your likes/dislikes are and move on to ordering a full glass! We also got a bottle of the Sparkling Chardonnay, based on our local friends' suggestion, and we were not disappointed! If you like bubbly, this is a must try. Cool and crisp, it's also perfection on a summer day. Overall a terrific experience, with great wine, apps and views, Hummingbird Estate should be on everyone's list whenever visiting the Medford/Jacksonville area. Travelers with kids will like this spot because the outdoor seating area is surrounded (for the most part) by a nice rod iron fence, which helps keep kids corralled. There's parking out front. Take a self tour through the main building to see the beautiful old architecture and lead glass windows. Stunning! Don't miss out on this gem! I was driving up to Oregon from California and am so glad I happened to find Hummingbird Estate online. I called from the road and was able to get the lovely Chardonnay room. I arrived in the dark so couldn't really see where I was, and woke up to a beautiful sunrise. I couldn't believe how pretty the estate is, the view is stunning, and the 1926-built building is so charming. I spoke to a couple of other friendly guests who have been here numerous times and even had their wedding here--I can see why! I ended up staying another night. Megan is very friendly and welcoming, and I feel really lucky to have had this experience, particularly as a peaceful break during a long and stressful journey. read more

It's difficult to write a negative review when a business and its hustling employees are clearly working hard to make a go of it in these challenging times, but here it is. On the surface this property has all the hallmarks of a charming, quiet getaway -- in the hills away from nearby cities and towns, quiet hours that start at 9 pm, no TVs, a relaxed check-in process at a wine tasting counter, reserved parking, and large tastefully updated rooms with excellent A/C, which was quite welcome on a recent 109-degree day in Jacksonville. However, the building has very thin walls, and the sounds of a liquid dinner party downstairs blasted through the place from 5-9 pm. Not appreciated after a long day of driving. And then we heard our neighbors as they talked, laughed, and used their bathroom, and we heard other guests far too clearly as they walked on loud hallway floors. A TV would have certainly helped block all that out. In the end I turned to the A/C fan and a ceiling fan. The white noise helped take the edge of the neighbors' conversation and drowned out the toilet-flushing sounds. I woke up just before 4:30 am to blessed quiet, so I turned down the ceiling fan, only to be treated a short time later to creaking doors, heavy footsteps and loud clunking in the hallway, like an early morning worker was setting up for their day. Speaking again of the bathroom (in the Sequoia Suite), two steep stairs greet you as you enter, and if you're not accustomed to them because you have been shuffling to the loo across a flat surface in the middle of the night for decades, you might be in trouble. I stumbled awkwardly but was able to hold on to a door handle to prevent injury. I thought the positioning of the sitting room and the bedroom should have been reversed. The bedroom is in front. And I would have liked to have seen room-darkening shades. Once the sun came up light was blazing in, whether you wanted it or not. Breakfast and coffee in the morning were decent. The fruit was delicious. read more

Three of us stayed in their largest suite for a girls trip and absolutely loved it!! The room was beautifully decorated, spacious, and comfortable. There were so many spots to get cozy (I loved the nook!), and lots of blankets and pillows. I slept well on the pull out sofa and my two friends slept like logs in the king bed. The included breakfast daily was delightful! The grounds are beautiful, and it was so nice to drive through the vineyard on our way up to the estate. Their tasting room was open only on our last day of the trip, and we were thrilled to find a variety of wines that we really enjoyed. I even bought some canned wine to take home! Service was great too, as we received all the supplies we needed and were treated very warmly. When I come back to Medford, I definitely want to stay here again. read more

Very pretty winery overlooking the vineyard and a gorgeous butterfly flower garden. We sampled a couple of different flights of wine. Our favorites were the Rose Pinot Noir, the Chardonay, and the Malbec. The flights are reasonably priced, but the fee will be waived if 2 bottles are purchased for each tasting. Another fantastic stay at the Hummingbird! This was the third year in a row my husband and I stayed at the Hummingbird for his birthday weekend. From check in to check out, our stay was fabulous! the young gentlemen working the tasting room were knowledgeable and friendly. The breakfasts were just the right size and very well prepared, our first day was French toast and fruit and our second day was huevos rancheros, yum! We highly recommend the Chardonnay room, it's cozy, quiet and the bed is like a cloud! See ya'll next year! read more
