Truly, there's nothing better on a chilly day than a wonderful glass of wine paired with genuine hospitality. During our trip, we found ourselves returning to Walport Family Cellars several times. Each visit was just as welcoming as the last. The owners and staff have a special way of making you feel right at home, creating an atmosphere that's relaxed, inviting, and memorable. We'll never forget the fudge pairing they offered--the flavors were incredible and perfectly complemented the wines. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by--not only for their outstanding wines, but also to hear the story behind them. It's the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

I love a good jammy red, a bold cab, cab Franc, syrahs (in general). I've had a few Tempranillos that I've enjoyed, but not here. I didn't even finish my tasting *personal preference* The grounds are beautiful, looks like a great place for a picnic. Their mocktails were much better than the wine! Upon arrival we met Crystal, the wine makers wife and tasting room pourer. She was playing fetch with a charming little puppy, Udon (we met his brother-from-another-mother Ramen) later in our visit. Looking in the unassuming tasting rooms, I noticed many flying pigs. Originally the owners just grew grapes to sell to wine makers. Turns out they had a hard time selling grapes many years ago, and the owner told his wife they'd start making wine. She said "when pigs fly". They started making wine and the rest was history. The wine is all excellent! Their reds are super on-point. My favorite was the Pinot noir. Berry, cola, bright and juicy. But not sweet. Excellent wines (and excellent prices). When we return, we will bring a picnic to take in the gorgeous surround. I loved this place and highly recommend to anyone who wants a spot to enjoy great wines.
