The price points are down to earth (most expensive is $32), the wine is very approachable so you don't have to be a somelier to enjoy the tasting experience and to find your Favorite bottle(s). Super chill, very casual (think converted shed), closest thing to Napa reds in Oregon (Quady North is another to check out). Drove all the way out here from Jacksonville because they told Google they're open. I'm up here from LA. They are not open. They are closed Mon - Wed and will only open if you call ahead. They should have posted this publicly online so people don't waste gas and time. The doors are literally locked and dirt parking lot empty. Their dog was barking but suddenly stopped so they know I'm here but wouldn't come out to greet me. Just we aware, call ahead before coming out. They are NOT OPEN!!! Small little tasting room, nothing fancy, yet does the trick. Several wines on the tasting. We preferred the Merlot and bought some. The owner and winemaker was very friendly and shared the history of the winery. read more

We stayed here overnight in our RV as a guest under the Harvest Host program. The owners were very cordial. We did a wine tasting while we were there. Their wines are unique. We bought six bottles is their Aggie Dog White as part of our case. BEWARE OF THIS WINE. The fermentation is not complete before it was bottled. Pressure builds up within the bottle and the corks pop and the wine leaks out. This would have been a fine condition if champagne bottles and corks were used. The wine leaking can cause damage. read more

Sweet, Out-of-the-Way Winery That Sells "Bad Apple Cider"! SITREP While looking for Dancin Vines and Red Lily Vineyards, we just happened across the sign at the end of the driveway for Devitt - a total left-turn. THE SETUP You really think you are pulling up into somebody's side yard when trekking toward the back of the house, but there is a separate standalone Tasting Room that makes the initial awkwardness (exemplified by when GoGo read my mind and quietly squeaked out, "Is someone gonna come out the back door of the house with a shotgun?!?") all worth while exploring. TASTING They have an excellent tasting set-up that is only $5. So if you're there for wine, have at it. I was NOT. This spot is pretty magical. From the warmth of the folks who make the wine to the wags of the tails who greet you- I'd challenge you to find a better place to spend an afternoon. Upon arrival we met Crystal, the wine makers wife and tasting room pourer. She was playing fetch with a charming little puppy, Udon (we met his brother-from-another-mother Ramen) later in our visit. Looking in the unassuming tasting rooms, I noticed many flying pigs. Originally the owners just grew grapes to sell to wine makers. Turns out they had a hard time selling grapes many years ago, and the owner told his wife they'd start making wine. She said "when pigs fly". They started making wine and the rest was history. The wine is all excellent! Their reds are super on-point. My favorite was the Pinot noir. Berry, cola, bright and juicy. But not sweet. Excellent wines (and excellent prices). When we return, we will bring a picnic to take in the gorgeous surround. I loved this place and highly recommend to anyone who wants a spot to enjoy great wines. read more

Visited this hidden gem on my 27th Birthday. Let's just say, the wine is phenomenal! I bought a 2009 Syrah; deep, mild, and oh so rich. Comfortable atmosphere; this place has a story to tell. Originally founded by a University of California Davis viticulturist who decided to head north for the advent of the Rogue Valley wine boom! Tour the west coast looking for that unique winery or pub - met the Devitt family and tasted 2006, 2007, and 2010. Long family history of winemaking that started with his grandfather. From the road, you'll likely drive by this place or simply think it's closed - we did at first. And then we found the cell phone posted on the door of the barn/tasting room. Oh my goodness - if you're driving in the area, you MUST stop here. Such a great winery with delicious wines. If they have the cider....BUY SOME...DRINK IT...LOVE IT. We stayed at Devitt through Harvest Hosts and got to enjoy a lovely wine tasting with Emma and then got to spend the evening with the owners in their picnic area. Such lovely people. Amazing hole in the wall winery, don't let the garage type tasting room throw you off. Great wine at a great price and you get to chat with the wine maker. If you are not a snooty wine person you'll love it! I don't throw down many 5 stars, great down to earth people. Highly recommend read more

Jim Devitt has a magical touch when it comes to wine making. Every year I order a few cases of wine from the Devitt Winery to give away to friends and business associates. I live in Sonoma county next to the Napa wine country in California. Everyone here is always amazed that wine of this caliber comes from Oregon. They find themselves loving varieties of wine that they thought they didn't like until they try Devitt Winery varieties. The wines are equal to, or even exceed the Napa county wines. I love that I can share beautifully aged wines for a great price. read more
