We really enjoyed a casual Monday at Padigan. Only 15 minutes from Medford and easy to find. It was rainy the day we visited so we couldn't enjoy the grounds but the vineyard was set beautifully within the valley. Padigan had some nice food options and we enjoyed a meat and cheese board along with our wine flight. The wine was very good. I'm not a huge wine drinker but my girlfriend is and joined their club so she could have some bottles shipped! read more

As a member of the Padigan Wine Club and frequent guest, I was pretty surprised by the treatment I received today. I ordered the Summer Breeze salad, which is my usual order. Normally it comes with a wonderful array of fresh strawberries, burrata, smoked feta, bacon, and sliced red onions on a bed of arugula. Shockingly, today it arrived as a huge bunch of coarse greens that were not the advertised arugula, no burrata, no bacon, and what appeared to be ONE sliced strawberry. I was stunned. When I ask our server about it, she responded that the 'cost of food' prohibited preparing the salad as I described that I had enjoyed it the preceding week. She brought me one more sliced strawberry in a tiny white dish. I said I would like to return the salad; that I was not going to eat it. Soon after that, a person who appeared to be the manager came out and said she would be happy to prepare a new salad for me that was congruent with the way I had described the salad was prepared each time I had ordered it before. By this time my friend had finished her lunch and I declined her kind offer. My appetite was gone. I have been a member of Padigan Winery (formerly 2Hawk) for many years. I never had an experience like this at Padigan and I hope I never do again. I really enjoy their wine, especially the Reserve Malbec and the Reserve Tempranillo, and prior to this I loved their salad. I won't order it again. I was in the process of persuading a group of people that I socialize with a lot to go to Padigan for wine and appetizers. I changed my mind after this experience and withdrew my recommendation. I founded a large gourmet supper club and served the Padigan Reserve Malbec at one of our most recent events. The friend that was with me when the 'salad experience' occurred mentioned our experience. People were shocked that this had happened at Padigan. I responded that we were as well. I'm sure I will return but not anytime soon. read more

I was invited to a wine event at Padigan;s and was very impressed with service, atmosphere, food and several of the wines we sampled. Server was super awesome and checked in regularly! I found several wines that I really enjoyed, but unfortunately cant remember the name, just it was a red at the end of a paring flight. Food was very good and arrived promptly with extra plates to share with my table. Cant comment on the price due a friend paying the check when I wasn't looking, free is always wonderful! The setting is beautiful, so you can enjoy that I guess. The service has gone way down hill, nobody looks happy working there and you get the feeling they would rather not be there. Good luck dropping your membership if you join, which I made the mistake of doing back when it was still a great place. They give you an email address to write to and you don't get a response. I am appalled after being a member for almost 10 years that the new owners thought it would be a good idea to charge member for a pairing at the wine release. Since the new ownership the majority of the employees have either been fired or have left. The warm fuzzy feeling has left this winery and after last night of being charged for a measly 4 bites of food for $25.00 we cancelled our membership. So sorry to have left as this was our favorite winery, but there are many others out there who offer much better service and ambiance. read more

I've driven past this place many times and finally came in with some friends this past week. We ordered the farm plate, baked brie and bruschetta. All of the plates were delicious. We had the Enthusiast Flight and the Exploratory Flights. I think there was some initial disappointment that the 4 who ordered the Exploratory Flights came in a full caraft meant to be divided into 4 cups, but if you line up all the cups and pour evenly it worked out. The pours were generous compared to some other wineries we had been to and we each found a favorite. The grounds are really pretty with views of the valley and vineyards. There were some yard games which made for some good fun. read more

Loved this winery. It came to us by recommendation of our Lyft driver who asked us what our plans were in Medford. Originally we were going to another winery that had live music on the weekends, but after his glowing recommendation, and advice to try the sparkling rose, we had a change of plans. We arrived without needing reservations and snagged a lovely table outdoors with views of the grapevines and the gorgeous backdrop of Medford with the sun slowly lowering in the sky. Everyone working was masked and the other patrons had their masks off, but the tables and everything felt clean and safe. We each ordered the Exploratory Flight and the sparkling rose along with a charcuterie board and chocolates to share. The wine was good (being an amateur and novice wine drinker) and the ambiance made it perfect for girl talk and relaxing while sipping on some wine after a long day on the river and hiking a few miles. Our server had just started working there and her candidness and attention was appreciated. My only complaint is I wish there was more chocolate in the order we placed. 4 small thin pieces for $15 is a little expensive... I was hoping they would be at least more than half a bite. I love coming here! The staff is always ALWAYS super friendly, super accommodating, super knowledgeable and overall just a fantastic place to be in all seasons! Their rosé is elegant, light, dry with a citrus tinge. I am no expert but I know what I like. I don't love sweet wines whatsoever or anything with an extra full body that might as well be a chard, so this is just all perfection to me. You will not be disappointed! This was my second favorite winery of my trip out of 10 wineries that we visited. I went home joining their wine club. I had a glass of their Syrah after my tasting flight. The food was excellent! We had the smoked salmon, baked brie, charcuterie, and the pizza. We finished most of these four things during our stay feeling over full afterwards because they were so good! The outside area was inviting and it felt like we could stay there forever even though it was the end of the day. We never felt rushed which added to our experience here. If you have a dog go somewhere else. The spot they put you if you have a dog is right on the drive way, only bark dust and feels very grade B. Especially irritating as sometimes staff enforce them don't. Dog area really takes away from beauty of the place and feel like lower class segregation. read more

I had a day alone in the area on a work trip and looked around the area, as I didn't want to sit in my hotel, and found out this was nearby. It was an absolutely amazing experience. The whole location is beautiful. Beautiful area, beautiful building, beautifully decorated. Also the staff was so friendly and I felt totally comfortable being there, albeit i was alone. They were super attentive and had great suggestions. Additionally, along with my delicious wine flight, I got a pear Gorgonzola flat bread and that thing blew me right off my seat. I have never had anything that good. I have ordered a lot of similar pizzas/flat breads in my life and this was hands down the best. Not only did it taste phenomenal but it was beautifully plated as well. If you're in town and you don't go here you've made a huge mistake. I don't even know where to start with this amazing experience. The location is wonderful. Inside is warm and tastefully decorated and beautiful. We opted to go out onto the patio, which was covered in plastic to protect from the elements, but it still allowed for great views of the surrounding landscape. We ordered the red tasting and they were all fantastic. If I hadn't been flying I would have bought a few bottles to go. I plan on checking to see if they have mail order. We ordered the olive plate which was very yummy. Great flavor. The Charcuterie Plate was by far the best one I have ever ordered anywhere. With flavorful meats, cheeses, nuts, crackers, and dried fruits. We also shared the First Crush flatbread and it was perfect! I really can't thank Robert enough for fretting and chatting with us. Pretty disappointed in our experience here today. The winery grounds look lovely and the tasting room is beautiful and comfortable, but the food and wine left much to be desired. My friend and I opted for the $16 Enthusiast Flight rather than the $11 Exploratory Flight, but out of the 4 we tried, there was nothing that I would want a full glass of. The chardonnay was wonderfully buttery, which made it unique, but its rich taste was a bit heavy. Of the 3 reds: malbec, cabernet, and tempranillo, none was fragrant, and the cabernet and tempranillo were very dry. My tongue was dry after sipping the cab and the tempranillo had an unappetizing aftertaste. My friend and I couldn't continue drinking the wine and left most of it on the table. I'm not very picky so it was surprising that there were so many poor wines. My other friend wanted sparkling wine that wasn't sweet and was recommended the less sweet of the two available, but it was still quite sweet and she left that nearly untouched too. It was also disappointing that there was no description of the wines. No details were given in the menu, and the server gave us small carafes with our wine samples all at once. She did tell us to let her know if we had any questions, but I didn't see her again to offer my feedback. We wanted to order food as well and asked if the charcuterie plate could be made with more cheese instead of meat as we didn't want meat, but the server told us that wasn't possible because everything was pre-portioned. It seemed like a strange answer because there are many people who don't eat meat these days. Instead, we tried the artichoke dip, which came with much more bread than dip and was cold and largely flavorless. Honestly, I can't see a reason to come back to this winery. Our server was polite but unable to accommodate our simple requests, which we understand wasn't her fault. However, we had a much better experience with tasty wine and food at EdenVale winery nearby. read more

2Hawk is a new venue with good potential. It has start-up issues, but I think it bears watching. First, the tasting room is cherried out in refurbished/recycled stuff. It has a nice old, comfortable feel while being clean and modern. When we were there, the caverneous space was nearly empty, but there was still a good vibe. Probably more so because the staff was knowledgable and friendly. Unfortunately, the major draw for a winery tasting room is the wine and 2Hawk is just starting out. They had a choice of two reds and two whites. I only drink red, and the Syrah was very good, but the Tempernillo didn't have any character. I didn't mind trying a new winery, but until the wines are better or there's more red to choose from, I won't be begging to come back. Plus... they don't waive the $6 tasting fee when you buy a bottle of wine. And, the tastings are small and measured. And,.... they gave us a bit of very tasty, spiced popcorn when we sat a tasting table. It was a nice treat, BUT it was sufficiently spicy that the popcorn interfered with trying the wines. Remember, I was doing reds... and the popcorn was still a mistake to mix in. I'll be listiening to local friends to hear what they tell about the progress of 2Hawk. The space is very nice, if they figure out that they should not charge for the small tastings when you buy a bottle, and if they supplement their selection of house-made wines with some allied vineyard or something, then 2Hawk will go on the map. read more

We had a really bad experience here. The staff was amazingly rude and for no reason. It's almost like they are mad that people come to their winery. At one point, we decided to get up from our table and walk over to the boche ball area and the waiter immediately came over and said they don't allow co-mingling. Came here with my boyfriend to see his boss play with his band. This is definitely a nice place! We loved the view of Medford and the rest of the valley. Very lovely. I really enjoy the look of the restaurant itself, the rustic cabin look. The two servers we talked to were really outgoing and nice women! Very attentive too, we never ever came close to even running out of water. As for the menu: we didn't try any wine (we are not wine people) but we got a wild mushroom "hawk-za" (pizza) to share which was really good. Very fresh tasting! Not QUITE worth 9$... but this is a winery, nothing will be cheap! This is definitely a really nice place to come to if you want to enjoy some nice local music, wine and good company.
