You want to talk about some amazing coffee? This place is yummy. The people are so nice.

My husband and I stop here every time we pass through Jacksonville. We love to order our latte when it is made exactly the way we ordered it, but it's not always consistent when we received our latte. When we asked extra hot and NO foam, 4 out of 6 visits we would be so happy with our order. The other two visits, our latte has a thick layer of foam and warm instead of extra hot. Today, I had to ask for remake twice. The first remake was not even hot, just warm and still has quite a bit of foam on top. The second remake, latte is hot but not extra hot and had even thicker layer of foam. The cashier said that I didn't ask for extra hot. But, when I reviewed my receipt, it did state that "No Foam, Extra Hot". I would rate 4 or 5 Stars for the other 4 times that my order was accurate, but for this time latte and service were poor. We are planning to come back again and hoping that our next visit we would receive what we order. read more

This is a really nice hole in the wall cafe... well, more like hole in the wall for myself, since this is my first time coming here. I honestly loved the interior as I walked in, because it just gives off that warm and vibrant feeling. This is how it should feel at every cafe that you walk into. Especially as you drink your coffee to let that good feel warmth settle in. I ordered an Iced Good Scream which is a drip coffee with a bit of chocolate. I was going to order the Good Dream, but it was more of a mocha type of coffee and I know I wouldn't have tasted the espresso as much, plus it had hazelnut. But if sweet is your thing, then the Good Dream might be your best option. The Good Scream will do for me though. They also have a literal "hole-in-the-wall" at one of the tables. When we walked into GoodBean Coffee, we were immediately hit by an amazing aroma of freshly ground beans. As we walked towards the counter I couldn't help but notice a very delicious looking sandwich on someone's table. Even though I wasn't hungry, my mouth couldn't help but water. Me being a cappuccino virgin, I decided to give it a try. We also shared a slice of coffee cake. The gâteau au café was delicious. It was moist, filled with berries - I believe blue -, and it was a decent helping for two people. My cappuccino was very good. It had the bitter coffee taste that I love, while also having the foam, which I now also love. The ambiance at GoodBean is very peaceful. Even though there are plenty of people inside, the volume never reached above a whisper. The dark wood walls added to the very calm atmosphere. The staff is friendly, and our coffee was made very quickly. This place is a coffee lover's dream come true. read more

This is such a yummy and cute place to eat! The coffee and breakfast are so good. The employees are super nice and efficient. The inside of the cafe is decorated nicely with a cool ambiance with the table lighting! What a great find in Jacksonville. The space has great ambiance, with exposed brick, wood textures, warm lighting, as well as natural light. Perfect for a coffee shop. There is plenty of seating indoors, with some larger tables for groups. I do wish there had been more outdoor seating, but there is not a lot of room outside for more tables. I ordered the cold brew with coconut flavor- delicious! A great cold brew. Flavorful, would recommend. For food, the breakfast scramble. Sausage, egg, pepper, onion, cheese, and a biscuit. It was pretty good, although I don't think I would order again, as the flavor of it was slightly bland. Could use some fresh herbs to really kick it up a notch. My fiancé ordered the Mocha Jacksonville thrill. He really enjoyed the blended beverage; I thought it tasted a bit like Nesquick. He also got the breakfast burrito, and that was delicious. Would definitely order that again. And the salsa was great. The shop offers an assortment of baked goods also and they freshly make bagels which I'm excited to try in the future. I came here during their biggest winter storm in 99 years and it was a ghost town. I walked into some of the shops asking if they knew of any coffee shops around and multiple people recommended me Good Bean. Popped in here on a cold day and I fell in love. I love the decor and the exposed brick wall! The place is large and has plenty of seating with large couches, long community tables, as well as little tables too. It wasn't crowded when I went because of the storm but the mood lighting and decor made the coffee shop feel very warm and cozy. I ordered their Oregon Chai and it was delicious. Their GoodBean Dream has been my go-to for over 10 years now. They are the best coffee shop in all of Southern Oregon and it's the best place to sit down and relax after a hard work week. Wow what a great little place in the amazing quaint town of Jacksonville, Oregon. My father-in-law lives here and whenever we're in town we swing down to Good Bean. First off the setting is super fun. The exposed brick walls and the quiet downtown streets make this the perfect place to grab a coffee or tea of your choice and read a great book. It's so relaxing compared to the big city coffee shops. So the drink selection is super vast and I got a great iced tea (Red Hibiscus) and it was delicious. We had the two kiddos with us so we took a gander at their baked goods and oh my Lordy, they are divine. We had a killer granola bar and then a twist on a s'more with a cookies crust which was ridiculous, I had to fight my daughter for a bite but I'm bigger than she is so I managed a crumb or two! The pricing is reasonable for a coffee shop and they have free wifi too. If you're checking out historic downtown Jacksonville Good Bean is a must stop place! read more

We ordered a latte and a blended chai... the drinks were just ok. I was given a paper straw for my frozen, blended drink that fell apart 1/2 way through my drink. They also didn't ask if I wanted whipped cream or spices, which is pretty ordinary at other places. If I had known they wouldn't put it on I would've asked for it. When my husband and I sat down, one of the chairs was broken. Before we left, I let the girls at the register know, and they seemed to already be aware. This coffee shop is a gem for the area. I had a chai with coconut and it was so good. My friend got a mocha and said it was good too and she got a brownie and enjoyed that as well. I walked into the coffee shop ready to enjoy a nice cup of coffee. I have gone to this coffee shop in the past and have never really felt welcome. Let's start with the coffee. The coffee I always get is black no cream no sugar. It was okay, I have expected better from a specialty coffee shop though. The biggest bummer is not being felt like I am an important part of their business (the consumer). It would be nice if Sierra could look someone in the eye while handing them their coffee to make them feel like an actual human being. Maybe smile? But that may be a bit much to ask. read more

I come here literally every morning before work pretty much, and I'm a Jacksonville native. This place always has great coffee, both in house and the kind that you make yourself. Their food options are delicious, and generally pretty well priced. Sometimes the portions on food can be a bit small for the price you pay, but it's a coffee shop so I doubt they really want to be putting food out like a restaurant. The staff are always really nice and quick with your order, I've never had a bad experience with them in the 15 years I've lived in the town. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting due to the great food and coffee, awesome location and friendly staff. read more

The service was slow. The lid was not snug enough on the cup and coffee seeped out all over my cup holder. For the first time in my life I returned and asked for a refund. Recently switch from my go to breakfast burritos after my long weekend bike rides due to lacking portion versus price. Shame on me three times, time to change it up!! But being I can't NOT love Good Bean, because I'm not Bitter : ) I tried their biscuits and gravy, which I'm not a huge fan of the dish actually, but between the perfectly cooked medium egg, fresh cracked pepper and that smooth gravy, I have a new Saturday morning favorite. I will still say that GB needs to revise their burrito preparation, etc because that's not going to sit well with the locals for long before there is burrito-revolt!! I'm talking specifically about the taquito size breakfast burrito- And if the powers-that-be were paying attention, they'd realize Pony Espresso is also lacking on the burrito front and NOW is the time to act! Underwhelming Coffee was great but the food was where things really went south. We stopped by at 11:30 on a Sunday and it wasn't too busy. Our order was taken immediately, we ordered the bagel with lox, biscuits and gravy with two eggs and the sausage scramble bowl. The bagel came barely toasted and basically cold with the least generous smattering of cream cheese ever and a very small portion of pale sad lookin lox. That's it. No capers or onion or tomato, not even a proper toasting on the bagel. Sad. My daughters biscuits and gravy were cold, like not hot at all and her eggs were the least loved eggs I've ever seen. No seasoning and runny whites, we ordered over medium. My sausage scramble was the best of the lot. It arrived hot but not hot enough to melt the cheese on the eggs. It was good but under seasoned, tapatío to the rescue. What else? Plastic cups are used for in house beverages, the bathroom didn't have toilet paper. Good Bean coffee is awesome they beat Stumptown in some blends which is amazing. There Jalepeno Swiss bagels are awesome. The only thing about the Good Bean that is really bad besides No parking and scary broken down bathrooms is there service. The Drinks are great but they usually have High School students working and are spacey. They have a cool card that if you buy something like 10 drinks the next one is free, so thats cool. They have alot space so you can have your own table so thats cool. They have a cool black board on there walls so that kids can write with them on chalk which is a hit. so great overall place I try not to let the service keep me away. read more

Really good coffee. Great location in Jacksonville, right off the main street. The building is awesome, beautifully restored, and the inside is decorated with industrial pieces and warm woods. Good menu with breakfast and lunch items. We had their bagels, nice texture and very flavorful.
