The location is ideal, the opening hours (7-7 daily) are also excellent and easy to remember. The staff is amicable and often stylish (can't help but notice all the fun outfits and styles!) The menu includes your typical coffee shop fares like baked goods (yummy) and coffee / tea drinks. Taste wise, the baked goods are on point. They are locally made and fresh every time I've visited. The coffee however is alright. I'm not sure whether it's the beans or the machine, but it tastes a little... unremarkable, I guess? The first one I ever ordered at Afuga was so watered down I threw it in the trash. I assumed the barista at the time did a poor job and tried it again a few months later. The second time was fine, and so was the third. Yet, even though my drinks are now prepared adequately, they are still kinda bland? These beans have no soul, maybe? I'm not one hundred percent sure what it is but it's still good enough for me to come back, for what it's worth. But not good enough to me to stay it's one of my Austin top 10.

Knock on the door of this house and a kid answers and then shuts the door on us. I nicely left the voicemail that I'm sorry no one gave us our cupcakes but with the last minute address change and now already running late and then being left outside we'd go get cupcakes from HEB. Well, our office management single-handedly combined my two loves into one the day they decided to give away cupcakes to the entire office. But, after looking over all my options, I went with the chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and pretty white heart on top. I carefully walked back to my desk, prize in hand, and noticed how huge these things were. Much bigger than your average cupcake, and slightly bigger than any other designer cupcake I've had in town.
