Had a company lunch here and the diverse menu left my indecisive self staring blankly at a wall. I literally left a donut shop once because the options were too many. To be fair, this spot did not have a literal booklet of options, looking at you Cheesecake Factory... the items were just pretty diverse so it was hard to narrow down what their specialties were. Asked a server for help - wish I remembered her name, she was lovely... we came on May 16th, large group of about 14 people at around 1pm, hopefully that narrows it down a bit - and she helped me land on a fried shrimp platter with some fries and various dipping sauces. She was kind and patient so I really appreciated her suggestions. Food was hot, fresh, crisp and honestly surprisingly good. I'm not a huge shrimp fan (why I landed on shrimp is beyond me) but it was delicious. Tasted good quality, cooked well so it was not rubbery and was pretty yummy. Huge portion as well, had two coworkers split the rest as I was absolutely stuffed. Interior was casual, comfortable. I didn't pay too much attention if there was booth options or just open tables, but either way it was pretty spacious, bathrooms were easy to find, and the place itself was easy to navigate through. Sounds weird, but some places are super cramped and somewhat confusing. Place was chill. Service was good, food was good, price can't comment - was a paid company lunch, and location was convenient, right inside the Morongo casino. We have frequented this nice restaurant for a number of years, it's always consistantly good! Service is always excellent and thoughtful. Food has never disappointed, not a big meat eater, but for the protein, I will splurge on a petite Filet, they have the best quality and always cooked as ordered, I usually ask to hold the Demi glacé, but when I forget it is pretty good, the baby carrots, real baby carrots, and asparagus are very good and their mashed potatoes seem fresh made. It's a large area with a large oval bar in the entry way with seating around it, plenty of big screens showing sporting events. The have high top tables and regular half booths and tables, there is a patio in view of the pool, we have never sat there, looks nice. They have a great eye for friendly efficient personnel, managers, food servers and bussers are all a pleasure to interact with! They have an all day breakfast menu, Steak and Eggs are excellent but once in a while a bit too much grizzle on the top sirloin, not always, just this most recent visit over the weekend. The fish tacos are good, as are their Hamburgers, Chicken sandwich is also good, really every thing is good. Craving a burger. Good Times Cafe was it. We were here with friends and the variety was vast so everyone could order just about anything they wanted. I think we all ended up with burgers LOL! I had the burger with a slice of brisket. This was a filling burger. I could have had more of that brisket though. That slice of brisket outshined the burger, but the burger patty was good too. It had some bbq sauce and onion strings. This was a fork and knife situation. This was enjoyed with a side salad that kept the meal refreshing. The service was great. Initially thinking it would be more like a Denny's, we set our expectations fairly low, and were pleasantly surprised by not only the taste of the food, but the presentation and the service, which were both a few steps up from your typical diner type restaurant. In our trip to Cabazon and the outlets, we got hungry and were looking for a spot to eat. There's not much to eat around here, but, we stumbled upon this spot located inside of Morongo. They had a hour long wait upon arrival (4pm on a Sunday) so they seem to be always busy. We put our names on the list, but ended up securing a spot at the bar. I wouldn't even have guessed that there was a wait because the place wasn't that busy. Upon being seated, it did take a bit to get service. When we did, we placed our order right away. We ordered the Southwest Chicken Chopped and the BBQ Brisket Knife & Fork Burger to share. In between ordering & waiting for our meal, our server didn't check on us once. When our meal came, we asked for ranch for the fries. The gentlman who brought the ranch mistakenly brought us horseradish. Due to the slow service, we didn't bother saying anything after. Despite the service, the food was really really good. The salad was among the best salads I've had. I need the recipe so I can make at home. The chicken on the salad was just amazing and the salad was rich in flavor. The burger was also huge and delicious! Brisket was great. Fries were thick cut and crispy. Overall, food is 5 stars. I unfortunately removed a star due to service needing improvement. I'm not sure if that is staff's fault though, because they seemed understaffed. We've been here many times. Many times with comps so we'll order the more expensive stuff lol This time we didn't. It was my first time ordering the chilaquiles and it was actually the best chilaquiles I've had so far. The others I've had either green or red sauce were usually overly sour. Definitely recommend. We also got the skillet and the ham and cheese omelet. Both dishes were good. I was craving juice so we ordered a round of OJ. Bad idea. They charged $5 per OJ and came in a cup half the size of the water cup. What a rip off. Stay away from the OJ. Otherwise the food here is usually pretty good. We've also tried the prime rib and steak and eggs. Both were good. The restaurant is inside the casino so you get a view of the pool or the slot machines. Service is very slow. It's a casual sit down restaurant inside the Morongo casino with a nice pit stop vibe. The service was good and you never got that "where's the waitress?" feeling. In town for a wedding and the wedding party is staying at The Morongo. This is one of their flagship restaurants. Cool, large open space, with lots of TV's and music playing throughout. Nice bar in the center. Service was quick and friendly. Food came out very fast. I had the breakfast sandwich with Canadian bacon. It was good but I should have chosen the traditional bacon (preference). They could really spice this dish up with a little sauce or flavored mayo. But the portion was big. Hash browns were standard. Tried the chicken parm myself, sampled some of the fries and burger of my dining companion. Service was quick even with a slight line outside for the seating. Staff was attentive quick and it wasn't too loud compared to some casinos dining areas which was a nice mental break from the casino craziness for a second. Good times ahead at Good times cafe? Let's find out! My friends and I met up here for light snacks and some drinks. It's a cafe located towards the end of Morongo. I like that it is close enough to the action near the slot machines but also far enough that you can steer away and catch up with friends over a nice cocktail. Good Times Café - Good Times Café Located at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa Last night, after a long and exhausting day of work, my partner and I stopped at Morongo to get gas, have dinner, and enjoy the casino. Thankfully, we left with a full stomach eventually and some financial wins from the casino--but unfortunately, the dining experience at Good Times Café was nothing short of a disaster. Let me start by saying this clearly: Manager Anthony was professional, attentive, and did his best to correct the situation. He handled the issues with grace, listened carefully, and made the appropriate adjustments. This review is not about him. This review is about the service failure and lack of professionalism from our server, Roman. The Experience We were seated promptly and greeted with a pleasant attitude. I was genuinely looking forward to the advertised $54.99 petite filet mignon with lobster and shrimp special, which included potatoes, vegetables, drawn butter, and sauce. At that price point--inside a major casino--there is an expectation of execution and attention to detail. We took a moment to decide. I ordered the steak special for myself. My partner ordered the Funghi (mushroom) pizza. I was extremely clear with the server and stated--politely but firmly--that I wanted my steak medium rare, and that if it was not medium rare, it would be sent back. Roman acknowledged this and confirmed he understood. When you're paying premium prices for protein, asking the temperature is meaningless if the kitchen and server don't ensure it's delivered correctly. The Breakdown Nearly 45 minutes passed with no food. The restaurant was not busy. When I stood up, our server appeared moments later--carrying only my plate, not my partner's pizza. At that point, I even joked that after such a long wait, the steak was almost guaranteed to be overcooked. Unfortunately, I was right. I cut into the steak immediately and found it completely overcooked, dry, and unacceptable--the opposite of medium rare. When I pointed this out to Roman, I was met with a shrug of the shoulders and a weak offer to "correct it." When I asked about my partner's missing pizza, his response was, "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't hear you." That was the moment I asked for the manager. Resolution (and Further Issues) Anthony came over immediately, addressed the problem professionally, and took action. However, it took another 15+ minutes for our corrected food to arrive--bringing the total wait time to well over an hour for two very simple dishes. Even more troubling: Roman never returned to our table. He walked past us nearly a dozen times, attending to other tables, and never once checked in, apologized, or acknowledged the issue. That is not an accident. That is avoidance. In my professional opinion, that behavior reflects a lack of accountability, training, and basic hospitality standards. I would go as far as to say it was cowardly. Final Thoughts Mistakes happen. Food can be overcooked. Orders can be delayed. But what is unacceptable--especially in a casino of this caliber--is: * Wasted food * Overpriced dishes delivered with poor quality * Servers who avoid responsibility * Zero effort to recover the guest experience Anthony did what he could, and I appreciate Also, they had a maintenance guy working on signage on our wall directly next to us the entire time. Talking on his radio. Don't you think that they could do this during closed hours. Why we had to sit next to maintenance literally no more than 3 feet away from us working on a lighting system on the wall that was just merely advertisement decor. The food was delicious! The Beet Salad with Steak was delicious and steak made well. The Prime Rib plate and Smokehouse burger were also wonderful. The Nutella pancakes were too sweet for us. However, the service was SLOW. It didn't seem packed and we sat right away. But it took 15min before our order was taken (first visit to the table). And then it was another 45min for food. And we waited for the check for over 20min. If it wasn't for the very slow service, it would have been a give star experience. Instead I received regular fries. I notified our waitress that the sandwich was cold and soggy, the sweet potato fries I ordered were incorrect. I sent the food back and waited over 10 mins, no food came out. I notified the manager on duty and explain the situation, she assured me my order what a priority, not! Waiter another 10 mins and still no food was served. I cancelled the order and before leaving a spoke with another manager and informed her of what happened. She was very apologetic and wanted to buy me a sandwich. After the ordeal I went through getting a simple BLT sandwich, I lost my appetite. Our waitress was a Hispanic lady, I could tell she didn't care about her job or customers. She should be written up or fired. She doesn't know what's she's doing and she totally brush you off when you make a complaint about the food. Worst customer service I've had in a casino. Will never return to Morongo casino.
