used them to move from Abbotsford to Prince George. I was nervous because of the reviews but they did a great job. Showed up on time and got all our stuff into one 5 ton truck. They even started unloading before we even got to our new house. During the drive they noticed an obstruction on the highway and they even called us to tell us about it to let us know we might be caught in a traffic delay. Worst movers I have ever seen. I will never recommend them even to my enemy. I felt deceived by these guys, came to move 1 dining set, 1 couch, 1 mattress and few light boxes for 6 hours. They left my baby crib and kids bed in old house because they dont have tools, for the same reason they left my dining table in garage and paid them huge amount. I regretted ever calling them. Dealing with them was a nightmare. Avoid at all costs. The day before they changed the delivery time. Then showed up 2.5 hours late. No apologies. Did not care about any of the items. Dropped multiple things including a box labeled Fragile:Crystal. Said they would have items to protect fragile things but did not. And on top of it, sneezed and sniffled the whole time with no masks. I would leave a zero if I could. This company is awful! two different crews came with two different trucks to move us. The first crew broke glassware and an oak chair, did not take down and being a painting they were supposed to and complained constantly about having to move heavy items. My husband left 20 minutes after them and they did not arrive until a half hour AFTER he got to the new house. I must point out they charge by the hour. The second crew also did not bring the painting. My husband had to leave the house to come to the new house for the first crew, so he asked them to call him before they left so he could verify they had everything. He did not hear from them so he attempted to call them. Twice. They did not answer. Twenty minutes later they called him as they were on the highway. As a result, a 20 ft ladder was also not brought. When they arrived they were to put together a large desk they had dismantled to load. After unloading they told my husband they were done and went to leave. He saw that the desk had not been reassembled so he ran out to the moving truck before they drove away. They said they were tired and would come the following morning to assemble the desk, and additionally would bring both the painting and the ladder. That night when we were organizing boxes (they also put only about a third of the boxes in the rooms they were labelled to go to) we noticed that a gargoyle statue that sits on our deck was missing. This is an authentic statue and had been shipped to my husband at great expense from a friend of his as a gift. we contacted the owner of the company the next morning after hearing nothing from the crew and again getting no answer when we attempted to call. We outlined everything that had happened and asked about the missing gargoyle. The owner basically blamed everything on us, telling us that we had not packed correctly. We purchased new moving boxes and totes and taped and labelled everything, save one box that we forgot to tape the bottom of. The owner further said we should have taken the painting down and wrapped it. It's is a 5ft x 5ft painting that the crew had agreed to take down and transport. He also told us that we should have taken the ladder ourselves, and that they are paid by the hour and have no contract with us and are therefore not responsible for breakage, damage, or missing items. We again asked about the gargoyle and were again not told where it is. We were, however, told by the company owner that if the gargoyle was broken that it was our fault because we did not box it. It is a statue. A large one. It will not fit in a moving box. In the past movers have wrapped in blankets and it has arrived safely. We still have no idea where the gargoyle is or what happened to it. The owner was talking over me and very argumentative. I was so furious I hung up on him. He then called my husband and did a repeat performance. My husband also hung up on him. In short....shoddy movers, job not complete, very valuable and sentimental item missing, and a huge bill. These guys literally took the money and ran. Please people, DO NOT hire this company. I did research after the fact (yes, an error on my part) and found many negative reviews online. I complained to the BBB - there are also several negative reviews on their site. read more

They was the absolute worst movers I have ever come in contact with. If I could score less than one star I would. I booked them a month in advance for 10am. They called the day before to say they would have to bump me to 11:30, no problem. 11:45 and they still aren't there. I called and was told "They were just driving to the truck. They'll be another half an hour. At 12:30 they still weren't there. I'm told that all the trucks have all of their batteries stolen. All of them? I am then told it will be an hour tops to get them changed. This continues until 3:30pm, a full 5.5 hours AFTER the appointment was book. I am also asked if I can do my move the next day? Absolutely insane. When the 2 "Top movers" show up, they smell like booze, and spend hours moving a 2 bedroom suite. I go out to see why they are taking so long to load items into the truck and they are hanging around talking about how to move things... Then I find out that the "Top Mover" isn't even a mover. He's the boyfriend of the drivers, mother. After all of that, and my husband moving the majority of our stuff into the new house, they charged us full price for 4 hours of work, plus travel time. I have worked in Restoration for 8 years and have never had such a horrible experience. Smelling of BOOZE and being 5.5 hours late? Not acceptable. I will be telling everyone I know, including all social media outlets how your team are completely incompetent. Then when the owner Dave read my google review he called to yell at me, call me insane and refuse to do anything to apologize. Worst experience ever. read more

My desk and my mirror were damaged. I will be posting the full version wherever I can online. On top of the damage I had boxes left out on my patio (I gave permission for a few not 30+ boxes). I had boxes that I labelled not in the right rooms. I had been told I wasnt there to give them instruction when I was the one who let them in. I have witnesses. I contacted upper management and Instead of getting on the phone with me and saying "you know I totally understand that's not how we train or employees, let's see what we can do, etc" she asks me what happened and then starts interrogating me on everything except the damage. She told me it wasnt my money because it was funded by the ministry, which is not true. I got the cheque in MY name, and deposited it into MY bank account and paid them directly MYSELF. She asked me where the money to pay someone to finish the job came from because it wasnt from the ministry. Three times I had to correct her as she argued with me over the fact that my move was funded so it wasnt my own money out of my pocket but the money I paid for help after they left was out of my own pocket. It doesnt matter where the money came from, I paid you for a service and I expected the service to be done appropriately. The rest of our conversation was similar. She claimed she called the ministry and when I called them they told me that they are not allowed to release information to her, and wouldnt. They advised me that she has to refund me the money for MY property. She kept arguing with me over the situation and kept saying well it wasnt her movers. I explained it has to be because I did NOT damage my own stuff and I expect that they replace my desk. She informed me that the receipt that I signed said they would only cover $0.65 for every pound of shipping weight up to maximum of $100 per item. I told her I requested my receipt multiple times and didnt get it and that the movers didnt leave it. She said "well they dont do that you have to be there". I said okay...but I dont have it still. Then she argued with me about that making everything so much bigger than it should have been. I told her she needed to email it to me which she did 4 days later. A lot of it was her arguing with me and placing blame off of them and by the end of the conversation I was upset and walked away feeling degraded, ashamed, frustrated and angry. I felt like she was treating me poorly because it was a flat rate so they didnt want to refund me properly because they wanted the money. I felt discriminated against because I had to ask the ministry for help. She repeatedly told me that it wasnt my money and they specifically were funding GoodPlace when I was in fact told twice that once I received that money it was up to me to choose my company. I feel like she was being incredibly condescending to me. She called me back today and all they will do is $50. She said it looks like a knife was used to gouge out my desk and I said well I sure didnt do that myself. She said that I didnt see the movers moving it so therefore I can not say they damaged it. I explained that I dont know how it happened but what I DO know is that it was in perfect condition upon leaving my apartment in Abbotsford and it was wrecked when I found it in my suite in Kamloops. She said that basically I cant prove it and her movers say they didnt do anything to it so that's that. She didnt outright blame me for the damage to my own stuff but she was obviously playing her words so she didnt outright say it. At the end of our phone conversation she tells me she will refund $50 and I said "well fine but I'm still going to write a review" and she said "that's fine". I am extremely upset at the way I was treated and her lack of professionalism. They told me they have insurance to cover damages and then I got the run around for it. She could have been courteous towards me and I would have been frustrated but understood. Her lack of empathy and consideration is the reason that I am writing this review on top of my possessions being damaged and not replaced. I will be contacting the ministry back as well. read more

Firstly, showed up almost 6 (yes six!?!) hours late. But that was only the beginning of the disaster. They were PAINFULLY slow, dropped boxes, and did not know how to pack a truck. They also apparently didn't know how to read English, because all boxes had bright colored labels to indicate their destination room, but ended up distributed randomly through the house. Fortunately we had friends with pickups and minivans who helped us get all the difficult stuff done during the 6 hour wait. By the time they arrived, our friends had gone home, but only uniformly sized boxes and large furniture (beds and couches) remained. But it STILL took 4 of them 7 hours and 2 truckloads to do the job. On our previous move, without help from friends, it took 3 guys only 4 hours to do the whole job in one truck load. Near the end, they all stopped working, gathered around me in what appears to have been meant as an intimidating demeanor, and demanded payment before they unloaded the 2nd truck load, holding our stuff hostage. I argued that I shouldn't have to pay extra for them being so slow, and that I should get a discount for them being so late, and the guy had the gall to suggest that they were giving me good customer service by working past midnight. The manager's response tells me that he is practiced at talking to unhappy customers, and had replies at the ready for why I should actually be happy with the situation. Since I wanted to go to sleep in the bed that was still in their truck, I conceded defeat, and grudgingly paid them. After that, they miraculously started working much quicker! After final payment was made, that second load was done in no time! We are very well organized movers. This was our 17th move, but only our 2nd time hiring a moving company. These so called "professional" movers were far less competent, and way slower than us and our friends. Even with just a few friends helping, it has never taken anywhere close to this long. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. 10 days before the move they told that me one of their trucks had broken down so they wanted to reschedule my move to the day before I had planned to move. Though I was the first to book on that day I was the one to lose my booking. When i questioned this practice the lady grew very angry and defensive. We finally agreed that I would move later on that day and they would call me to update me on the exact time. I actually ended up calling them at 3 and at 5 o'clock p.m. and they said they were still planning to come. They did not call me nor did they ever show up! And they have never contacted me to explain their complete failure to provide the promised service. This moving company was the worst ive ever seen ! There was only one positive thing the 1 mover they sent was a hard worker ... I repeat they sent 1 mover and a truck with no brakes ! Now I was moving from mission BC and Mission is all hills , so to see the driver turn the truck off and jump out to put a block under the tire and the truck started to roll down the hill ! My furniture was tossed around ! And because he spent 5 hours loading a 1 bedroom when i didnt even have a bed... so i had to pay someone to help me clean my old place to get my damage back , but I wont even get it back because I cant finish tonight ... also I had to yell at the owner to pay a friend for helping , I got a measly $100 but he didnt want to give it to me until I wrote a good review !! Unloading at my new home was just as well done. I just had to stay out of the way & direct. I had them pack me up & also unpack. Got the job done, but took double the time and cost more than expected. When I called to book the job, I was asked questions about the size of my home and the kind and quantity of possessions to be moved. I was quoted 3 hours plus 1 hour travel time, based on which I booked the job. The previous company that I used took exactly 3 hours start to finish. On moving day we were scheduled to start at 9am. By 9:15 nobody had arrived or called, causing me to panic. I called the company and was told that they woukd be there in 35 minutes. I said fine but for future it would be nice to get a heads up if they were running behind. Shortly after the driver called to let me know they would be late. When the truck and movers showed up they were polite and got to work. After an hour I went to check on their progress and found only about 6 boxes loaded into the truck. I was surprised but assumed maybe they had a system. I continued checking every 30 mins and it was apparent that the progress was extremely slow. Even onlookers noted how slowly they were moving small amounts wach trip. After 2.5 hours, keep in mind the whole thing was supposed to be 3 hours, I talked to them about how slowly things were going and was told that head office shouldnt be quoting 3 hours that it takes longer. Granted they were organizing my stuff in the truck very securely, it was just too slow. Long story shorter, it took 6 hours to complete a move that was completed by another company in half the time just two years earlier, same apartment types. Double the quoted time and price. Overall while the movers themselves seemed like genuinely nice people, I was not impressed with the time it took to get the job done and would not recommend this company. read more

This is the WORST moving company we have ever used!! And we have used a few over the last few years. The one star the system gives them is even way to much!! It was a disaster right from the start. We kind of knew we had chosen the wrong company when after less than 2 hours into the move, 2 of the lazy slug movers were on their second smoke/water break. Their ad specifies that they are... "Smoke-free. Our crew will not smoke on-site or in the back of the truck" Well that is a lie. Thats where they took their smoke break. In the back of the truck. The 3rd younger fellow was really a hard worker! I cant remember seeing him even take a break. I must commend him. I phoned to arrange for the company and the lady dispatcher asked if I needed extra insurance. I asked her if they were fully insured &she said yes absolutely. So I said no then I dont need any extra insurance if you're fully insured. She did not tell me that their responsibility to the loss or damage to my property is limited to a maximum of $2.00 per pound of shipping weight to a limit of 500.00 per item when we spoke. Then when the driver shows up he tells me I need to sign his paper so he can start loading. Doesnt tell me that what he got me to sign releases the company of any property damage over 500.00 to my stuff. He just says I have to sign the sheet so he can start loading. SLICK & SLIMEY!!! JUST A WORD OF WARNING!!! If you have a piece of furniture that would cost 5,000.00 to replace, if Good Place Moving Co. broke it beyond repair, or if it was stolen out of their truck, whatever the case is...they would only pay $2 per pound to a max of $500 per item. So you would be on the hook for the other 4500.00 That is absolute crap as far as I am concerned! They broke it their insurance should have to pay for it. Scoundrals!! They did end up damaging my brand new piano. Tore the bottom corner right off. Then the owner of the company came out and said well you can just glue it back on. No, I said to him, your company will have to fix it, they broke it. He said it would be far to expensive to fix and their policy only covers up to 500.00 anyways. He said it must have got damaged because my husband was helping them move our stuff so that releases them from any responsibility for damage to my property. Well needless to say I was mad! The reason my husband helped was they had sent 3 guys to do the job and only 1 young guy was actually doing anything. A move that should have taken maybe 5-6 hours max (it was a 1 bedroom rancher townhouse)took almost 8. The manager of our new building was even wondering why it was taking so long. If my husband didnt help it would have been at least 10+ hours. I had asked the lady when I booked how long the moves usually take, and she said not more than 4-5 hrs based on the size of our place we were moving out of & where we were moving into. Our new place had an elevator so they didnt have to do stairs. My husband even held the elevator for them the whole time. The lady manager even said the move was taking far to long. So they finally agreed to me only paying for 5.5 hrs. They also agreed to pay for whatever it cost to fix the piano. The lady manager had gone to a local piano store to find out the name of the guy who fixes pianos. She said they would fix it, whatever the cost. She kept saying she will make it right. She even went as far as contacting the fellow to fix it and arranging payment with him. Well what a liar she turned out to be!! So the piano fixing guy comes out on Friday Feb 15th @ 9am to fix it. I phoned the moving company because the lady manager said she would send 2 people out to help lift it on its end forthe piano man. I phoned her a week before to confirm that they would have 2 people here to help. She said they would. The piano guy also spoke to her the night before the repair to confirm this, as well as making arrangements for payment for the work done. And guess what.....yep they are no where to be found!!!They never showed up & no phone call no nothing. They are not returning any calls now. And I am out of pocket $352.80 for the fixing of the piano. Just another reason to stay clear of this shister outfit!! Just a warning to everyone.....this shady company is as slick & slimy as they come. They are NOT good to use. They are liars!! We booked this company in advance of our move. They originally told us a 10 AM start, later to be changed to a 3PM start. This was a minor inconvenience, but we dealt with it because the price was affordable. Today, one day before our move, we get a phone call that they are cancelling our move because their truck broke down. We then found and reserved a rental truck and they still refused to complete the job as agreed upon. Totally unreliable and definitely NOT a GOOD place to call! Used the movers twice, the first time was a simple move to storage and it was ok, the second time was from a couple of locations and then storage to our new place. They were two hours late and didn't even call, I had to call them. Halfway through the move one of the 3 movers I was paying for left in the middle of the job. When they got to my new place it was discovered that the leg on my piano had broken in transit, guess it wasn't secured properly. I was upset, and Dave the head guy wasn't to bothered by it, told me he would fix it and bring it back and then move my piano (left in garage) in a few days. Six weeks later after I had contacted him many times to see what was happening, my son and I drove out to Abbotsford to get the piano leg so we can try and get it fixed. He never had any intention of fixing it or coming back, he just told me that so I didn't fill out a written complaint within the 48 hours I had to do so. My mistake, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and even a decent tip and food and water. He was very rude and unprofessional in his texts to me about coming back. Treated me terribly. Do not use this mover, apparently not the first time he has damaged someone's piano now that we looked at reviews and promises to fix what he breaks but never does. Terrible customer service, not worth your money. A very bad experience, trust me do not use this mover!!! read more
