Casey, the Arborist, was completely real and honest with me about some of the trees I had concerns about in our Yard. While he probably could have tried to sell me on some injections that would have had little affect on their lifespan he was very informative on the longevity of my trees. Alejandro and his crew did a great job for the pruning section/tree removal part of the job. Extremely quick and efficient showed up around 8 and only took them about 30 -40 minutes to prune 5 trees around the house. I was incredibly impressed with their speed and professionalism. Bad rating not for their service but for their prices for smaller jobs. I had to get a 10ft tree removed from my front yard as it died last year during the severe winter weather. Their minimum tree removal service is $495, which is quite a lot as compared to other vendors who are quoting on average $150-180. read more

Had a large job of trimming and clearing out some sizable trees yesterday. Everything went beautifully! From the fantastic Raven taking so much care in scheduling my job and checking in with me, to Jose who expertly managed his crew. I bet we had 8 or so folks here working and every person was friendly, fast and professional. Extremely polite and knowledgeable. Jose even encouraged me to observe and learn form him as they went about their work. They were flexible when needed to be and above all an excellent crew that worked very well together! There was a general vibe of happiness and friendliness throughout the entire job and they really made my day! What a fantastic company! I wish they could do my landscaping, too... They have set the bar very high and I think this is what all service companies should aim to achieve. This is my second time working with Good Guys. My first service was having a questionable tree cabled, and that service was great as well. More recently, I had three VERY large trees in my backyard that were getting unruly. I thought it would be prohibitively expensive, but Good Guys worked with me on the price and even offered payment options. The estimate appointment itself was quick and painless, but didn't feel rushed. Matthew taught me a few things about my trees, and explained in detail what was concerning, what they could do to help, and what looked good. I felt confident in the detailed quote assessment and how specific their work order was. The actual appointment could not have gone smoother - they even showed up early! I can't say enough good things about the Good Guys Tree Service. I've never seen a more hard working, efficient groups of guys do so much trimming in such a short period of time. I have them cut down a 50 year old pin oak and trim three other storm damaged trees. They also ground down the stump and fertilized the other pin oak to help with its longevity. Good Guys trimmed the trees in our church courtyard last week. They were on time, brought 8 workers, and did the job quickly and well. They trimmed one tree back a little more when I asked and raked up the ground afterwards leaving the site in good condition. I would call them again if we need tree service. read more

Two weeks prior I made an appointment for 8:00 am on a Monday. I took the time off from work, knowing all was confirmed and good to go. At 8:30 am I call to check on the no-show. Answer: "Oh, I'm sorry, Matt isn't coming in any more and I meant to call but got all caught up and [excuse, excuse, excuse]. I can set you up in 10 days from now." You know, if they can't show up for the estimate to get my business -- and they won't respect my time enough even to let me know -- well, I don't trust them to show up to do the actual work. I've used them twice in the past. Called in September this year to get an estimator to come and see my house. Claimed he sent a quote to my email was never received. I called them 5 times to get the quote to review and approve it but not one could find it or get the estimator to find it. They never offered to send anyone else to redo estimate. Good Guys Tree Company is run by a great guy :the business Director Micha. I was so traumatized by the emergency of the giant oak limbs, falling & then getting ready to fall on our house again or on one of us, or our pets , that I let my emotions get to me and I asked Micha to forgive me, and he immediately did, and said he was glad that we had someone come out and deal with those oak limbs even one day before GOOD GUYS had gone out of their way to put a team together to help us. I no longer think of them as Good Guys Tree company. I think of them as "GREAT GUYS TREE COMPANY"! During this disaster, everyone is pulling together to help everyone, but I've never known of a business where the business Director reached out twice to people ,who were in harms way, and who rejoiced with us that we were able to resolve the issue without having to wait for "great guy's tree service " to put us on their schedule. We used Good Guys to take out a giant tree that was really 4 trees in one. It was a very challenging job with power lines and buildings involved. They were very mindful of the structures and no damage was incurred. Gloria and her crew were prompt and professional. Gloria did an outstanding job communicating with me and handling a difficult neighbor. The crew were very efficient and cleaned up after themselves. Everything from the initial visit to the getting the work accomplished was handled in the most professional manner available for a company in this line of work. Got a solid quote on the initial visit which fit our budget. Accepted and waited a week or so for the work visit. On the day of the visit the crew arrived 10 minutes early and were well-equipped solid professionals who went about their work like a well-oiled machine. I mean it. I love how he was very thorough in explaining everything as well as giving us tips on the side. It's been over three weeks since I've heard anything from them and repeated calls to their office go completely ignored. I've used Good Guys Tree Service for years, and I have always been happy with their work. I've had them trim fruit trees, oaks, cedars, and elms. They even clear cut some pesky bamboo for me. And if something isn't to your satisfaction, they go out of their way to fix it. They even came back to grind down my stump some more, even though their previous work met the depth in the quote. After we agreed on a price and date of service, their price was very competitive, I received a call the day before the work was to be done with the time of arrival and their contact name Alejandro. The crew was on time and consisted of a team of four. I reviewed the job with Alejandro, three team members spoke very good English. They began trimming and raising the umbrellas on the trees. Alejandro spoke with me multiple times to update me on what was going on and to answer any questions I may have had. These were large trees and I watched them work from the ground and up in the trees. Alejandro and his team worked all morning cutting and cleaning up. They did an excellent job. I'm confused by the good reviews posted about Good Guys. My experience post sales has been poor: After agreeing on the quote and submitting supportive documents for my tree removal application, I've called the office 3 times in the past two weeks trying to get an update on whether my application has been submitted, and the person answered the phone always told me "XX will call you back", but I never heard anything back. I completely understand there is a pandemic going on which may impact their responsiveness, but they should be able to take 30 seconds to respond. Turns out my application was never submitted in those two weeks. Now I'm stuck with two hazardous trees in a winter storm and again, no one answers their phone or returns my phone call. This level of unresponsiveness is something I have never seen before. Won't recommend. read more

Avoid at all costs. I have used them in the past with good work, but the most recent time was a disaster. They missed sucker branches on one of the trees that I asked for them to clear, but most importantly, after they sent the invoice, they harassed me like a deadbeat, acting like debt collectors. They sent the invoice on a Monday afternoon. Over the next three days, they called four times, sent a second email, and texted. Six total follow up attempts over three days on a three day old invoice. I don't know if they are having severe cash flow issues, or what is going on, but I don't appreciate being treated like the scum of the earth for, once again, a three day old invoice. I generally pay my bills once a week, but I guess that's not soon enough for this firm. Only use them if you're willing to be treated like scum. read more

Good tree trimming, bad processes and management. We had repeated missteps with scheduling our appointment, followup on questions after the service was completed, and long periods where we didn't hear anything from management. Our service took place 10/21 and we didn't get to a final agreement for payment until today 11/23. Such an ongoing long process talking to our salesman, the owner, and the central office. All haphazard and them expecting we'd be available by phone or if they dropped by (calling on their way). When we expected to do the final quality control walk through we got the run around a bit from Jose (salesman) and Bob (both talked to us separately) and ended up just closing it out unfinished to what we had expected in the proposal. Had Good Guys come out and assess our pecan tree. They said it had to come down. They cleared it with the city and all I had to do is call 811 for utilities. Sure enough when they cut it down there was a large hole in the center of the trunk. They came back on another day and removed the stump. Their communications were great. They gave me regular updates. Pricing was good. The workers were all friendly, fast and left the area clean. I would highly recommend them!!!! read more
