Old rasberries

The quality of the produce has noticeably declined. Items often arrive either underripe or already old and starting to mold. On top of the high prices, there are added service fees, a "good job" fee, and a delivery fee. Altogether, it's just not worth the cost anymore.

This was one of the apples that came in my delivery this morning.

I feel the quality of the products have gone down. Initially everything was wonderful. The salads were fresh and the fruits and vegetables were relatively fresh. Lately when I have ordered, I have gotten mediocre items. I'm not sure I will be ordering from them anymore.

I've tried SO SO many times asking them to deliver to my door and they just can't follow directions. I don't mind paying for a premium service but why am I paying an extra 20$ each delivery (on top of their exorbitant prices) when I still have to grab everything from the lobby and walk up the stairs myself? It's time to look into Whole Foods delivery.

Covid review. For us Good Eggs is a life saver. We haven't been to a grocery store for months. We shop local when we can. Good Eggs has a lot of local providers. We purchase mostly organic produce, Straus milk, organic Mary's chicken and a bunch of other items. Ordering is easy online. Good Eggs try's to keep inventory up to date. If they are truly out of something you cannot order it. That said inventory doesn't always agree with the inventory. Have you ever been in a big Box store that is missing 30 boxes of something nobody can find? The same will happen with Good Eggs. As with their competitor Good Eggs has a substitution program should you allow them to substitute. In our case we fairly allow substitutions and just order enough to "punt" should something be out. Customer service is excellent. If you don't get something, call them and they will make it right. Food shows up in boxes that they will pick up next time and recycle. Perishable items are packed with recyclable ice pouches. Frozen goods come with clearly labeled "dry ice" pouches. Straus bottle deposits will be refunded immediately when you leave the bottles for pickup on your next order. For those of us that can remember milk delivery this reminds us of days in the past. Good Eggs is a growing business. They have had a few false starts around very busy times like Thanksgiving. For thanksgiving we had a spatchcocked turkey that was extremely tasty but not all were that lucky. We ordered ours early in the week along with a frozen duck just in case. The CEO had to apologize to some of the customers for missing the delivery. Suggestion: order early and have a backup plan. Have you ever gone to a store only to find out all turkeys and pies are gone? Having a backup plan and patience is a great prescription for the times something happens.

Good Eggs incompetent delivery - might as well be up for grabs

We had a horrible experience with an order for Thanksgiving in 2024. Good Eggs is not dependable the day before a holiday - this is not the first time they have messed up a Thanksgiving-related delivery. Customers should not order from Good Eggs for any important holidays or celebrations - there is no level of assurance. They will return your money but they can never make up for the inconvenience, disappointment and potential scrambling you have to do to find replacement items. Our order was to be delivered between the 5 and 9PM window on Wed 11/27, but we later discovered that the order did not arrive until 11:50 PM. We received several update texts from 3 different cell phone numbers about their being delayed. We finally went to bed around 11PM after telling Good Eggs to cancel the order as it is too late. The next morning we received a text that the groceries were delivered - but they were nowhere to be found. We searched everywhere around our apartment building. Another text later sent a photo of the groceries - the incompetent driver left it unattended at a different apartment building (next to our building) at 11:50PM with some of the items visibly laying on top of the box (begging to be stolen)! I specifically indicated in my order that the groceries are not be left unattended (it is an option during the ordering process) because our neighborhood is known for packages getting stolen. We did not see that text sooner as it got filtered as junk. Why was Good Eggs using 3 different cell numbers? We had already left town when that last text came to our attention. It is a certainty that someone enjoyed our order given the area is known for packages getting stolen. I demanded a refund which I was given - no apologies from this business where I was a customer for several years. Don't promote your Thanksgiving or holiday offerings if you do not have the capacity or infrastructure to handle the orders - you clearly do not have it together. We could have shopped elsewhere for the items we wanted to bring to our destination. This last experience shopping at Good Eggs was a waste of time and a source of needless stress during a holiday.

Good Eggs delivered expired ground beef. Unacceptable and a safety violation!

I signed up for Good Eggs delivery because it was giving 5% of the proceeds to my son's preschool. Unfortunately it delivered very expired meats! It's unacceptable and a food safety violation! Apparently, I'm not the only one! Because of that, I'm not ordering from them ever again!

Gluten free blackberry pie. Spendy but worth it!

Ask the Community - Good Eggs

How long does customer service take to get back to feedback?

Several months ago when they were really busy it took about a month to get back. Sometimes I haven't gotten a response at all. Unsure how flooded they are right now, but on average a couple days to a week. Hopefully this helps!

Has anyone tried their roast chicken? Any good?

I really like it. It's well seasoned, juicy, not dry, and heats well--crispy skin!--in the oven.

I was REALLY pleasantly surprised at the flavor & taste. I expected gentrified dishes. It was good! I was also specifically looking for meal delivery that generated less waste. Planter table delivered that. I got cool enough with my driver (and tipped well!) that he brought me a little thank you plant. I loved that I had the same driver each time. It was just a really pleasant experience overall. Nothing bad to say.

I am not vegan but this hits the spot and is the best meal service I have found. The food is still amazing and I'm happy to see the meal options have expanded, there's seasonal produce options and Acme bread, and now they post calorie information. They have family style option to get a bigger portion for those who have a family, or for me, to bring to a pot luck. They also have individual desserts and full size pies/cakes. Seriously - they have everything. They no longer offer wine for those who care. There are some additional pick up options, too, but I stick with Jack London Square on Wednesdays from 11:30-2:00. Pro tip: get the cookie dough!!!!! And the chili. And the breakfast burritos. And the bake at home pizza ........ $20 credit Referral code: QWC3D2MJ

I then took the shitake beef flavor and made Gourmet Ramen, adorned with radishes, scallions, black and white sesame seeds, and a drizzle of sesame oil. The music was bumping, people were lined up and genuinely excited to order, and the whole setup felt lively in the best possible way. You could tell right away this was a place people really love. This spot came highly recommended to me by friends, and now I fully understand why. Before heading out, I called ahead to ask whether they could accommodate my girlfriend's seafood allergy, and Kemi, the owner, picked up and immediately made us feel taken care of. When we got there, Victor, the onsite chef, and the rest of the staff were so friendly, thoughtful, and careful about everything. That kind of hospitality means a lot, and they handled it with so much kindness and ease. And the food? Ridiculous. In the best way. I had the egusi, plantains, and fufu, and I finished it in what had to be about seven minutes flat. Honestly, I'm still shocked there weren't bite marks on the container. That food was so good it nearly had me questioning my table manners. Every bite was comforting, rich, and deeply satisfying. What I loved most was that Jollof Kitchen felt like more than just a food stop. It felt like one of those places that reminds you how powerful food can be -- how it brings people together, lifts the energy of a whole block, and turns a night out into something memorable. I'll absolutely be back every chance I get. Safe to say this first time trying Nigerian food, this is now my favorite Nigerian food spot by far. Amazing food, amazing people, amazing energy.
